Look a new Michael topic! ;D

Ok, I don't think we'll ever have to worry about Michael dying. Why? Because he's the only person in the group with a Father/Son relationship. They might be able to cook up dozens of romances, but there aren't any other kids with their dads on the island, and we’ve already seen that Father and son relationships are important on this show.

That is what I'm hoping for...unless they somehow get rid of Michael (NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!) but hustle Walt back to the island for further bonding with Locke.

I'm still trying to think what shockers there could be with the raft, other than

1. it simply vanishes
2. it ends up on another part of the island, where the tail section and some other passengers are (suggested by others, and would be neat)
3. we never hear anything about it again

I think --like you--that Michael and Walt are unlikely to just be written out, and Sawyer's fan base wouldn't rest for picketing if he were gone! Jin--well, you never know, but I'd like them all to live and remain viable characters.

he he he...hum...sorry, moving on ;)

I don't think Michael will die either...and the main reason is because it WOULD make no sense to nip the burgeoning father/sun relationship in the bud. Not to mention the fact that poor Walt just lost his mother...AND his step-father abandoned him. To kill his FATHER as well...that's just MEAN :-\

Ha! Queen, I promise I'm not trailing you through the Michael/Harold posts tonight, but I must point out your exquisitely showing Freudian slip...burgeoning father/sun relationship

Furthermore, the other person Walt looks up to is now frightening Walt so much by insisting on opening the hatch that he would rather take his chances on the suicidal raft mission.* About the only things that could be more cruel would be to kill off Vincent or Walt himself.* Help stop child abuse!

Killing off Michael would probably send Walt on a downward spiral. Maybe even bring him over to the 'other' side. That is one of the things the writers could do to keepus off balance without jumping the shark.

Killing off Michael at this point would destroy Walt. I think there are better forms of entertainment that making that poor kid undergo another major psychological trauma. Good writing can still create tension without resorting to killing characters, and there's been plenty of death already.

At this point I dont see anyone dying that is on the raft. Father/son thing--one does not tinker with that. >:( Husband/wife finally express love for each other again---one does not tinker with that. ::) Hot shirtless guy from the south with dimples as deep as the ocean----damn straight one does not tinker with that! ;)

I'm with you! if anyone on the raft at all, Jin seems most likely now, since the reconciliation was allowed. What about that poignant awkward goodbye between her and Michael? Very sweet, too.

That stood out like a sore thumb to me, and please, please don't let it be foreshadowing Jin's death.

There is more than enough danger on the island to kill someone, without one of the rafters having to die.

Walt was not afraid to go on the raft, and I take that as a sign that all will be A-Okay. ;)

Waltisfuture, you know how writers love foreshadowing! They did linger on that scene, didn't they?

Ditto. The raft is a red hering. From here on out the danger is only going to be for the land folks.
