View Full Version : Fringe 4x01 Sam G 10-04-2011, 01:03 PM Discuss the Episode Mosaic_Hyde 10-05-2011, 03:38 AM Didn't agent Scott end up "in the care" of Massive Dynamic back in the day? That is, after he died? Sam G 10-05-2011, 10:55 AM He sure did. Mosaic_Hyde 10-07-2011, 03:31 AM OK, for those that have followed my blind stumbling in the dark on various shows like FlashForward, The Walking Dead, and now Fringe (which I haven't thought too deeply on really), I'll offer my observation on this episode regarding a very large and long confidence game that I have theorized is being played on any of us that are digging at perceived clues in these and many other shows. I'll pose the idea that some of the clues do have a meaning and that Walter's reanimation of the dead pigeon in this episode is what is called "The Pigeon Drop." Lost had Sawyer and "The Long Con" episode, as I've mentioned before several times. It took a while to sink in, but last year's episode 309 of The Marionette (I'm postulating) was a metaphor for those of us viewers that were digging for meaning that would end up relating to a 2012 "apocalypse", an ET/UFO contact, or a DNA/consciousness evolutionary leap like in the supposed technological singularity. Although I can't remember seeing a teddy bear in Fringe, there has been or will be likely a sighting. I also believe series such as TNT's Leverage and CBS' The Mentalist are packaged for us as huge clues in themselves. Although I have not likely seen more than 1-2 other episodes of The Mentalist, I watched tonight's episode and learned that the main character was a ex con artist. I spotted the episode close with a teddy bear and perhaps that hugely repetitive clue I've seen in many shows might stand for the "teddy bear scam (http://kirkland.komonews.com/content/neighbor-warns-teddy-bear-scam)" just perhaps. I'd like to keep any discussion of this confidence or "conFRINGEnce game" here relating toward Fringe so if anyone thinks they have something to chime in with (a Bell joke) I'm all ears (a Spock joke). I might offer a guess that William Bell's character name could be a clue to the "neighbor's false friend doorbell scam." Mere seconds after we saw Peter's first appearance the next scene opened with a bell chime in the restaurant. Just scanning down several pages of info I can see many connections to many shows but I'll try to keep it to Fringe here. Gene the cow's presence might be the notion that ocytocin can increase the production of dairy milk in bovines. Alternate Astrid has aspergers and adults with autism (like that?) have an improvement in social behavior. The various "mole hunt" iterations I've seen in many shows and films (Mission Impossible, The Borne films, FlashForward, Fringe etc.) seems to really be a "vole hunt." I'm sure there is more but I'll look later for more. Whew! What a trip this has been (& I think I've said that before). |
