Sun asked Claire what the name Aron means, and Claire said she didn't know.
I looked it up. The name Aron is a hebrew name, meaning "shining light, high mountain, messenger."
Any ideas? What "message" will Aron deliver? What darkness will he shine a light upon?

Well, there's the dark territory. The mystery of the Others. The mystery of the hatch. The mystery of the monster.
I guess we'll pondering the finale all damn summer. But I wouldn't have it any other way!

Actually the name is usually always spelt 'Aaron'.
The name comes from the Bible. It was borne by the brother of Moses in the Old Testament, and it is possibly of Egyptian origin.
Some ppl also use it as a male form of "Erin" since that means "Ireland".

Aaron was the older brother of Moses and the first high priest of the Israelites.
The name can also mean "exaulted" or "high mountain"

Aaron also led the "people" into the " Promised Land" when Moses was denied entry by God.

The first thing I thought of was that Aaron was Moses's brother. *Moses led his people out of Egypt to the promised land in what book of the Bible? *Exodus????? *Hello!
I'm not a person of "the Book" but I have taken religious studies courses in college. *One thing I did learn about Aaron and Moses was that Moses was the one with the message & the mission, however he had a speech impediment: *he stuttered. *So therefore, his brother Aaron spoke for him. *Hence, Aaron = messenger/translator/transmitter. *My assumption is that Aaron (gosh, I miss calling him Turniphead!) will be the messenger/translator/transmitter of The Others. *This fits in with the theory that Aaron has been infected by "the infection" and possibly will infect the other Lostaways or else "the infection" will allow him an innate understanding of The Others and he will eventually be able to "speak" for them- possibly being a liaision between the survivors and The Others.

They are going to have to be on the island for a very long time if Aaron is going to be the messenger.
It's a Veronica Mars shout-out gone horribly, horribly wrong. Or that baby is seriously evil. :lol2:

Yup. And were are going to have to watch for a long time, if a whole season isn't much more than a month.

People! People! People! There are many ways to transmit a message without words! I think you're being waaay too literal. Besides the message may not be in words...it may be the infection, it may be the core secret of The Others or the Island...
