The Marshall escorting Kate to her appointment with justice (forgive me if I don't know his name, if it was ever mentioned) was a great character magnicently portrayed by a very talented actor. After watching Exodous Pt 1 for a second time, I was thinking to myself what a kick would be if this guy was a survivor on the Island. Or appear again, in some other capacity...and I am not talking about just in flashbacks

I agree the actor did a good job, but I'm afraid the character was just a means to an end. We get it now that whatever Kate did, she's presumed to be a real badass and it took a tough US Marshall to catch her, and he imparts his warning to Jack before he dies. Now she's in the mix with the other Lostaways and they'll never quite know what to make of her, or when/if she's being genuine or manipulative, and there's the question of who has to deal with her if she does end up being bad.

While I agree the actor playing the Marshall did a great job - that character wasn't the nicest guy! He was really teasing (putting it politely) Kate about Tom and the airplane to get a reaction - which he succeeded in doing. If he had survived the crash I think I would be cheering each eppy for the monster to get him! ;)

One thing that didn't seem logical* to me about the US Marshall part of the story was the silver case with so many guns. If you need guns to keep a prisoner in line then, no matter how wild your prisoner may be, two should be plenty enough....for one person, that is.
Perhaps, unbeknown to Kate,* there were other US Marshalls on the plane. Maybe even one of them are now among the survivors. Hmmm.....
Then again, things could be what they seem, and the writers needed something in the story that provides the survivors with several guns so they used this solitary US marshall as a means toward serving that purpose.

Good point--you only have two hands, and it's not even like they were different styles/calibers (which might have made more sense if he chose his weapon based upon the needs of the job). I guess we're meant to see him as a gung-ho macho gun-toting type. Also strange is the fact that he was working alone--don't marshalls usually work in teams?

Maybe, and it would explain my above question...but surely a marshall would've stepped up into a leadership position by now, if not to reclaim Kate as a prisoner then when Ethan kidnapped Claire and later returned with threats to kill people.

Most likely this is the case.

The actor portraying the Marshal was a great actor, and im glad we were able to see him in Exodus. Hopefully he might return for one of Kate's flashbacks.
