I was just surfing around some other Lost sites. There's also something weird on the "Home" page. On the side there in an announcement that says that Oceanicis going out of business, threre is a movable grey sidebar that when you move it into view it's a script page.

on the script page is a description of the "monster".....but the the hell knows if it's legit

Have you found the script page that is hidden behind some text? It gives a (almost certainly fake) picture of a page of the script for exodus part 2 in which Charlie faces the monster.

If you go to the part to track a flight and see that there is an alert on flight 815, notice that the gate is gate 15, but in the episode last night the gate was 23.

It was supposed to land at gate 42 in LAX.

Yeah - this site is on total overload right now -i have a T1 connection and it still is freezing up and glitching. But delightful even so.

Cool trivia - in the flight tracking, all the airport codes are real - most are for places in Australia, but one -JJA - is for "Med Cibelles, Colombia" ... or perhaps, destination JJ Abrams?

The squares lit up and green ones were certain passengers and if you clicked on them the right way you got what can best be described as some wierd visual. Shannon's you have to click several times before it comes into view. How fun!

I think I've got the Kate/name conundrum worked out.

Kate Austin was her name when she was a kid.
Kate Ryan became her name when she got married.
Kate Dodd was probably an alias and was on her identification when she was caught.

That's my guess.

I noticed a few things that annoyed me about the site, just general mistakes, such as the wrong gate number.

One shocking mistake about the seating chart is it's all WRONG. It shows on the seating chart that the plane has a 3-3-3 seating configuration. How could the be so stupid and lazy to get that wrong? In The Pilot and Exodus episodes, you could CLEARLY see the plane had a 3-4-3 configuration. How could they get it wrong? Did whoever made the site even watch those episodes
That means that most of the seat letters will be wrong for passengers on the right hand side of the plane

Dang I'm having way too much fun checking out this site off and on tonight. Between this and that virtual disney thing my husband's got me playing I'm getting NOTHING done lol.

Ok for the folks who can't load it.

It's a series of clips that are probably leftover stuff from Season One I'm guessing since they haven't filmed S2 anything yet, but what do I know. Mostly lots of running through the jungle and screaming, something that looked TO ME like a volcano exploding???

The main thing were the messages, as follows, and I'm putting this in Spoiler tag just because I don't know if it is or not. *Hell I don't know WHAT this is lol.

But on the other side of the island

They are NOT (and this line flashes several times for emphasis on the NOT)
They are NOT the survivors
They are NOT the survivors that they thought they were

And then it ends with LOST Season 2 Fall 2005 and the LOST logo.

THEN, it takes you to the following website www.oceanicflight815.com where more video stuff plays. More running and screaming through the jungle. Along with something we're going to need screencaps for. Possbile Lostzilla activity chasing people around. Wen t by too fast every time I got it to load. Ends with a shot of the beach and more funny tree moving business of the Lostzilla monster activity variety.

All of which was very cool and creepy. Tried to show my husband when he came home from work and of course that was the point where it all stopped loading completely. I don't think he was overly impressed lol ;)

Hope that helps I'm not exactly great with details.

Couple things I didn't get: Why do both Rose and Kate's seats become orange when everyone elses were green?
Why does it say Gate 15, wasn't it Gate 23 on the eppy? Or am I pulling that one out of nowhere.

My initial reaction to the "They are NOT the survivors they thought they were" line was that it meant THE OTHERS were not the other survivors of 815 (tail end section of the plane).... But the way the line reads, now I'm not so sure. I guess the question is--- What survivors did our castaways THINK 'the others' were?

OKay, I just saw the trailer. Albeit very slowly.....I only got a few seconds at a time, with long pauses in between. Very good stuff though!

Did anyone else notice that all of the audio clips were from Season 1? Nothing new.

There's a screen cap at lost-media of the computer screen when Hurley checks in. The departure of flight 815 is 14:15 (2:15)
due to arrive at LAX 10:42. There is something wrong with the time and the sunset.

I think maybe everyone is reading too much into the "They're not the survivors they though they were" line. It doesn't neccessarily mean that their identities are not what they've been led to believe.

I think it's much simpler. Throughout the first season, we've seen them cheat death at every turn. They've become survivors. They're not survivors just because they survived the plane crash. They survived tragic events before getting on the plane, they survived the plane crash, and they've survived on the island. They've defined themselves as survivors. But next season as things get much worse, and they're going to realize that they're not the survivors they thought they were.

The "missing links" deliberately link to an error page (because this ISN'T a proper airline website, merely a front for a couple of interesting pages). If the links were genuinely missing, they'd link to proper pages but wouldn't be found and THEN re-direct to an error page, but you can see the hyperlinks go straight to the error page.

If you had a link from ABC to the Oceanic website, that would be different. The evidence against it being legit is substantial. First, it is very poorly done, including missing links, etc. Second, I see no way that an insider would mess up the seating chart for the plane. After all, they have the actual one used during filming. This site looks like it was created by someone who did a poor job of trying to create it from watching clips of the show.

Those 'missing links' are most certainly intentional, view the source code. The links to that 404 page are not linking to missing pages named flights.html, track.html, or anything of the sort. Any link on that page that brings up the dead pages is explicitly a LINK to '404.html' - the 'file not found' page. It's a trick. I don't know why, but that was one of the first things I checked.

The '777' refers to the type of plane. But if you click on Jack's seat, or Rose's, it will flicker and show you the 'secret' URL of oceanicflight815.com.

RE: not being able to get the movie to come up, be sure you're using IE, not firefox. You also need the latest Flash Mediaplayer installed. Click on the number 4, then 8, then 15, then 16, then 23, then 42. Make sure you're clicking on the number(s) below the actual seats, indicating the rows, not the seats themselves.

Underneath are two messages from supposed survivors and what looks like a page from a script (that wasn't used). I copied them to a word document and it made for better viewing.

The fact that it is not an abc website but rather is an attempt to look like one is, in my opinion, pretty damning evidence against it being legit. By some tremendous Oceanic error, they all boarded the wrong plane. *Perhaps they were on Oceanic 777 which boarded at gate 23, while 815 boarded at gate 15. *And to continue *along the same silly reasoning, what if 815 crashed on the island as well, which would explain the message Boone heard, "We're the survivors of Oceanic 815". That might also explain why *"they're not the survivors they think they are".

Doubtful. That would mean that flight 777 and flight 815 would have both been bound for LA, leaving at the same time. Also, the pilot would have had to have been mistaken, too, as well as the flight crew, as well as Air traffic control. If both crews thought they were both on flight 815, the tower would know about it when they requested takeoff.

It didn't work well for me in Firefox, actually. Works better in IE, IMO.

To get people's seats to show up, you need to actually click on some of the seats themselves. Do this:

Click on the bottom seat in row 4. Then the bottom seat in row 8. And so on and so forth throughout 'the numbers'. That should get the other seats to 'reveal'.

To get to the movie, you have to click the row numbers, not the seats.

i think that sometimes when an initial flight is booked an estimated time is put in for arrival. *upon the day of the flight and during the flight other things may cause delays, winds, storms, late passenger boarding (hurley), the pilot making extra checks of the plane, detours in route. *so its initial time of arrival was 3:16 but due to unforseen delays it was now expected to arrive at 3:23. *if you also look that its planned departure time was 14:04 but actually departed at 14:08, maybe because of hurleys late arrival at the gate.

I don't think that it is as easy as just seeing what it says in plaintext, but rather that there is a clue somewhere on that sheet...

I made a list of the seats I've been able to get a "reaction" out of, and I've made little observations about each. I clicked on all the seats in the whole plane in order, and then at random:

I still haven't been able to get the map. I've taken 6 years of French, so I'm really trying to get that to work, seat color: green.
23A Jack Shepherd, just appeared when I was randomly click back in the 40s sections, seat color: green
23D Rose (no last name), seat color: red
24D Jack Locke, popped up when I clicked on Jack, the seat color all of a sudden traveled over and up and lit up Locke's seat, seat color: green
27G Edward Mars, his US Marshall's ID comes up but it's doing this weird St. Vitas dance all over and the picture changes. If you click on the minimize button on the screen but don't let go, it'll stop long enough to look at the picture. First picture is a regular ID photo, second is a picture of him asleep on the plane, seat color: green, this is another one that jumped up a seat when I clicked on it and it went over to Kate's (dead)
27H Kate Ryan, her toy plane appears over the 777 image at the bottom, seat color: red
29C Charlie Pace, Claire's diary appears

OMG, thank you.* I worked in the airline industry, in various capacities, for years.* I have posted about 500 times that it is not Flt. 777, rather that the aircraft type is a 777, to no avail.* I was beating my head against my desk everytime I saw another "Flt. 777"* theory.*

When you are on the seating chart - as you move over the seats - the flight # at the bottom CHANGES from 815 to 777 - THAT is what people are talking about. As you move over the seats some more, it changes back to 815. If you aren't looking at the bottom of the screen, you would think it was the same seating chart.

I read thru this posts in this thread, but I'm not sure if this was brought up. *When hover my cursor over certain seats another seat will turn green. *This is happening when it says Oceanic 777 in the bottom corner. *(I can't get it to go back to 815...) *For instance, when I hover over 15A, seat 9E (Boone) turned green. *When I hovered over 26D, seat 29C turned green. * *15D makes 9F (Shannon) turn green. *HOWEVER. *If I hover over 24D, seat 9E turns green BUT when I click on it nothing happens. *

Something else I noticed....When the Oceanic 815 text changes to 777, the seating chart gets blurry (for lack of a better word) like it's resetting.

Personally, I think there are 2 separate planes and seating charts. *And I definately think this is a puzzle. *When I was first playing around with it, I could get a couple of green seats to light up at the same time. *But dang if I can get that to happen now. *You think maybe there is a way to make all the green seats appear at the same time if you go in a certain order?

this may have been answered already, but the seating chart more closely resembles the Boeing 777 planes
where coach is generally 3-3-3 across pattern and are bigger than 747s

Boeing 747s are set up as 3-4-3 and are smaller (and older) than 777s

now take American Airlines or United for example, both their 777s have a 2-5-2 pattern in coach

so my assumption would be that "Oceanic 777" refers to the airline using a Boeing 777 plane with the specific Oceanic seating plan

777 refers to the plane type. There was no flight 777. It's not listed on the flight checking page, and Abrams himself has stated that in the story, they were on a 777, even though the plane they staged stuff on was an L-1011.

I think your frustration is unjustified to an extent. *On MY computer when I go to the seating chart, it shows the plane in the lower left corner as Oceanic 815 and STAYS that way until I click on a few seats. *Only then does it change to 777 and remain there.

While it may do exactly what you said on YOUR computer, it does NOT do that on MINE. *I'm using IE 6.0 with a DSL connection, if that would make any difference whatsoever.

Seems alot of people are having trouble with the chart, I've yet to get all of the 14 main-character's seats to pop up at all. *Just about 6 of them. *

This is not to say it MEANS anything in particular, just that what you see and what I see are different in a certain respect. *sigh

OK, so it says Seating Chart 777... that confirms that at least we're attempting to view the same page. The fact that it says "777", I believe is the key there... it's the generic seating chart for a 777, regardless of what flight number it is.

It's just to let us know, as if we didn't already, that something is up with Flt. 815. *When a plane crashes in real life, they usually put "see agent" as a notation on all the flight arrival/departure monitors so that people coming to pick up people from that flight can be told of the flight's fate by an airline rep.

I mentioned this idea in another thread (or maybe even this one!) they're not the survivors they think they are could mean they thought they were the ONLY survivors but if they find other survivors on the other side of the island they are no longer the survivors they thought they were (because they thought they were the only survivors).

I think it's a scam by ABC to make everyone think a multitude of theories.

If were talking about that little video clip, you get when you key in the numbers below the seating chart, my thought was that our survivors are doing pretty good compared to the tail section lostaways. My thought was either that the others already have them, or they are being picked off one by one, by the monster, and that's why he has left our lostaways alone. I definately got the impression that there is scary stuff going on, on other parts of the island. What do you think?

Going back to the concept behind Lost. It was supposed to use Survivor as part of the plot. Well, people get voted off in survivor. On the island the only way you can really leave is by dying. I'd call that NOT surviving.

Yes, it's just a fun site. Like the diarywriter on the ABC Lost site. They got renewed, they have alot of viewer interest in the show and this is just to keep us busy and reminded about the show during the summer.

Okay, maybe this is taking it a step too far, but....

The hidden messages from survivors on this site seem like the types of messages that might have been written down on scraps of paper and put into the bottle that went onto the raft. ("If anyone gets this message please let my parents Mr. and Mrs. John West of Tuscon AZ know I am alive" etc. (paraphrasing)). But it is interesting to me that in many of these messages we are now being given the first and last names of survivors' family members, along with the cities they live in, and 'requests' to contact them. Taking it to the next level, I wonder what an on-line search for the names of the survivors' family members would bring in those cities. And if it leads to real contact info, I wonder what would happen if we tried to contact them? I can imagine locating a phone number for "Mr. and Mrs. John West" and calling, to get a recording "be sure to tune in to LOST next season..."

Dude. The names in those "messages from the bottle" are all really generic names. I'm Mrs. Jones in Louisville. If there's a message on that site to a Mrs. Jones in KY, and someone calls me, I swear I'm going to make up all kinds of crap and laugh my *** off about it ROFL :lol2:

I don't care if this is fake or real, I'm just having fun with it. I already extrapolated my theories on what's going on before I found this website and it's not changing any of my ideas.

That script thing is fake, for sure. Mapa whatever IF ANYTHING is a code name they use for the monster. Still it was wicked fun to find it!

My assistant at work and I were talking about this and he said that it sounded like some kind of online roleplay game buisness. There was one for AI as previously mentioned and also one for the Matrix, and some other crap I can't remember. According to him those were run by independent companies and/or fans, not the actual production companies/distributors of those movies. Something about finding hidden clues and whatnot, not roleplay as in RPG stuff. Now I don't know Jack about any of that but maybe someone else does?

Now me at this point I have to still say I think this is ABC's doing. Either meant to entertain us over the summer-keep us guessing- OR its a beta version of some easter egg stuff for the DVD and we are the guinea pigs. LIke I have ANY clue LOL!

click on a seat in row 4,8,15,16,23 and 42 (not the row numbers, but a seat in that row)
each time you click on a seat one of the lostaways seats turn green.

By my "that is correct" comment, I was referring to the Seating Chart on the Oceanic Airlines Website depicting Flight 815 to be an Oceanic 777, and the numbers blurring and changing to show the numbers 815 and the url of the new ABC Theory Boards. Because that is correct.

I was not claiming to "know what the full purpose is".

Though if I was, I think my Five Stars and Global Moderator status would probably be irrelevant. It would surely be less about who I was, but more about what I know? Yes? ;D

Currently, the purpose of that website seems to be to promote an ABC Mailing List, and the new ABC Theory Boards for the show. I am personally hoping that they update the flash pages with more fun and games over the summer, as it will certainly help us pass the time until the kick-*** S2 Premiere. :)

As for "the team that made the site", you could maybe ask them.... but isn't the fact that so many people are wondering about its "full purpose" part of the fun? ;)

Agreed, I apologize. The tone that I got from your post was, in my opinion, uncalled for because I was just stating what MY experience was on the site. Plus, it seems like sometimes people say things over and over on the board and it becomes an excepted fact when it may just be an opinion/theory that is posted over and over again to the point where if you say something against it you are wrong.

I agree, it's probably a viral marketing thing. I know all about that stuff but it just seemed like you were slapping everyone down that was having fun with it. I realize not that that was not your intention, so I'll try to keep my usual bitchiness to a minimum.

Nah, slapping people down isn't so much my style (unless they are breaking Site Rules and stuff, then its kinda my job!), I was just agreeing on the 777 thing.

I know what you mean about people saying stuff Over and Over! It drove me nuts when so many posters were SWEARING that Radio Message said "There were no survivors...." ::) A most frustrating example of when opinion gets considered fact, with indifference to the truth.

As for having fun with it, I personally spent so much time trying finding all the hidden "Easter Eggs" there on Thursday afternoon that I have reactivated the Repetitive Strain Injury in my wrist... all in the name of MAJOR FUN. I think that site is a genius idea, and take my hats off to them!

Maybe this has been mentioned....just kind of skimmed a lot of this post. But the scheduled arrival time is 3:16......So anyone else think there is a connection to the ubiquitous John 3:16 from the new testament?

I was just surfing around some other Lost sites. There's also something weird on the "Home" page. On the side there in an announcement that says that Oceanicis going out of business, threre is a movable grey sidebar that when you move it into view it's a script page.

on the script page is a description of the "monster".....but the the hell knows if it's legit

Wow ok Im behind because I just found this site.

And may I see when I clicked on Locke's seat it almost gave me a heartattack? It reminded me of one of those internet flash deals where they make you stare at the screen intensely and then throw you a loud screach and scary picture. Gah.

And the site has to be authentic because of the @ Touchstone at the bottom. Now Im not naive enough to believe that in of itself means anything, but i DO know that Touchstone would close that site down in .2 seconds if it was fake. Is it just a ploy to gain our attention over the summer? Well it has worked if its true ;). But the hopeful theorist in me hopes it means something so Ill probably overanalyze that thing.

OH and does anyone realize that if you click the blinking box again while its showing you something it sometimes shows you multiple things? Or am I just being impatient and it shows multiple things regardless.

I'm just wondering how the oceanic site was found so quickly.* I'd like to know who the first person to find the site was....if possible.

EDIT: and by that I mean who the first person was to find the oceanic site. Not the first person to post it here but the first person to notice it and post it on any LOST message board. My reasoning is that it seems odd that this was found so fast and I was wondering if this might have been planted by someone associated with ABC on one of the message boards. This really seems to coincide with the finale quite well and I seem to remember that there was an oceanic air site up that wasn't really associated with LOST as it had incorrect logos and such. Now there is a brand new site and someone found it real close to the finale. Seems odd to me.

Is that a small part of a larger board that is in hiding somewhere? And when they talk about two different sites are they talking that board and then abc boards?

Jenn- in regards to the boards- I got the impression that those theory/Oceanic boards were there all along on the ABC message board system, but not listed. So somehow some folks found them a while ago and there have been a few random posters to that board to get it started. Perhaps they found some hidden link, perhaps they just typed in the right words in the search. Now the oceanic815 site business is giving us another backdoor into the ABC system. Whether or not this theory board actually is listen on abc.com now I don't know since I don't actually post there.

And about the multiple items at once-- I've never had that happen. I HAVE had something flashing and if you continue to click on the seats lit up, you sometimes get a different one. Most notably with Jack/Rose/Jack's second seat. What have you got popping up at once?

And yeah- for anyone just tuning in- before you click on seat 24D, if you're wearing headphones for your computer, for all that's good and holy TAKE THEM OFF or turn down your volume! :lol2:

The person who told me he's played these types of games before most notably Matrix and AI said that in those games, they DO have people come along in the game that are supposed to be key characters, or the like, to guide or mislead you, give you hidden clues, etc. I think I've got that right. So Sam its entirely possible that some of those folks on the Theories board ARE in fact The Others ;) LOL
