View Full Version : What did you give / recieve for Father's day?
God's tom 06-19-2005, 01:19 AM My wife got me a Rocker / bench for the front porch.
I love it! I guess I'm getting into my "Sunset years!"
I'll probably need some depends & a bottle of Geritol next!
:D ;D :lol2:  :jump: :roflmao: :hb2:
Leigh47 06-19-2005, 02:22 AM Still undecided what to get my dad but I was thinking of just making him a good 'ole apple pie. Apparently he likes them alot...I love to bake...its a special occasion...why not?
islandchica 06-19-2005, 02:24 AM I'm going to give my dad a big bottle of his favorite cologne and a box of chocolates.
SHHH! Don't tell him.
slash_vic73 06-20-2005, 06:38 AM We got my dad a new pipe and some tabacco, he doesn't have many vices anymore so I'll cater to that one! The stuff smells sooo good when we go to visit! Black forest tabacco, smells like chocolate, can't be bad!
God's tom 06-20-2005, 06:45 AM My wife is always nagging me about my smoking, & I made some off hand comment about if I was gonna switch to a pipe, I'd probably get one like they used in Lord of the rings. Well she went &
bought me a pipe & tobacco, but I've never used it. Maybe someday I'll try it.
slash_vic73 06-20-2005, 06:50 AM My dad has smoked a pipe for as long as I can remember. I'm not fond of his regular tobacco but the flvoured stuff is cool, like plum pudding at Christams time! There's a tobacconist where I live that makes all it's own stuff, we always go there to buy him stuff, it smells soooo good in there! Cigars up the wazoo too cuz in Canada you can get the good ones!
waltisfuture 06-20-2005, 06:56 AM A crochet set and a tool holder and tools
God's tom 06-20-2005, 06:57 AM Years ago, someone at work was passing out cigars, 'cause his wife had just had a baby. I
took mine home & decided to go out & try it on the back porch. Man! About 2 puffs & I was green!
I'm definately not a cigar person! :lol2:
slash_vic73 06-20-2005, 07:00 AM I love the smell, can't stand the taste! YUCK!
God's tom 06-20-2005, 07:10 AM I gotta at least have a filter on the end that's in my mouth! :P
makemelaugh 06-21-2005, 05:07 PM waltisfuture, did you really get a crochet kit? If so, will you make me a blue scarf? (or you can just hit me on the head with a mallet) ;)
I got my husband Florida State Seminole mud flaps for his truck, 2 pairs of plaid boxers and a red USA T-shirt. Guess which gift he liked the best.
waltisfuture 06-21-2005, 06:24 PM waltisfuture, did you really get a crochet kit? If so, will you make me a blue scarf? (or you can just hit me on the head with a mallet)* ;)
Too funny. How do you spell croquet, ah that's it. My dad would never crochet, he's a manly man, so it makes it even funnier.
I would love to make you a blue scarf, but I only crochet in the winter. ;)
fanofangel 06-21-2005, 11:28 PM I got hubby a handheld Texas Holdem Game so he can entertain himself in the reading room :P
I also cleared out of house and went to see Batman so he could enjoy the race and house all to himself :P
Lone - There's a sale on right now at Eckerd's. Depends, buy 1 get 1 free ;D
lostfan88 06-21-2005, 11:38 PM My mom bought my dad a new chair for him to relax in while watching TV in the bedroom and my sister and I made a collage of pictures of a trip he took recently to North Carolina to windsurf.
God's tom 06-25-2005, 09:08 AM Thanks! But I'll start wearing depends when I'm so feeble, I cant stop someone from putting them on me!
