Kudos to Vilya for this topic. I was so upset when I heard. I remember when I was little laying in the floor of the living room watching Star Trek reruns. I grew up with this show and and all it's characters. It's many ideals shaped who I became and I have only total respect for anyone who was involved with it.

It is so sad to see such a person die. :'(

My thoughts are with his family. But he will never be forgotten, not with "THAT" line still doing the rounds :king:

Not to many people know it but James Doohan served in the Canadian military.
He was among the troops storming* Juno beach on D-Day. He was shot 6 times.

Rest in Peace.

I am a proud Canadian, and even more so now that I know Scotty is one of us. Wow 6 times, he's lucky he survived, maybe that's where his larger than life personality comes from. He learned early to enjoy life to it's fullest. Thanks for the info.

It's so sad he's gone, I'm not a big trekkie but I liked the movies. My favourite part was in the 4th movie when he's trying to talk to the computer "Hello computer....computer?" RIP Scotty.

My favorite line is from Trouble With Tribbles. "I beamed them over to the Klingons where they'll be no tribble at all"

I met Jimmy years ago at ST con in Philly. A friend of mine knew him so we were able to go up to his room and sit around and talk for a little.
So sad DeForest Kelley's gone and now Jimmy too!

Thanks for starting the thread - I knew there had to be one here and just wanted to join in the Jimmy tributes!
