OK People, my *ss is purple
literally
the girl b4 me in the tanning bed used tingle factor 25.*
it's so powerful that it soaked thru the acrylic in the bed(which is pourous for the UV rays)
i had a reaction on each place that touched the bed because i dont use tingle* AT ALL!
even 2 is bad for me
im dying
my *ss is on FiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiIRE!

who in their right mind needs tingle factor 25?* just go jump in a fire!
it's already been an hour and a half.
the best i can do is lay on the bed on my tummy, and lay a refrigerated wet cloth on my butt.* *
cute, right!?

anyone have any suggestions?* I don't have Noxema and the aloe cooling gel didn't help for more than like a minute. (lidocaine in it)

I don't really know what "tingle factor" is (from what I read it's supposed to draw the melanin closer to the surface of the skin), but if you think you have a chemical burn rather than a "sunburn" you should see a doctor right away. If you're really purple (or even dark red) you should see a doctor to get a stronger concentration of lydocaine than is available over the counter.

ETA: The sites I looked at refer to tingle factor 3-7, so 25 must be quite something!

   :jump: :roflmao: :jump: :roflmao:

I can only think of two suggestions: :lol2:
1.) Stick it in the freezer......
2.) Hang it out the window!

(Oh! I'm such a bad boy!) :lol2:  :jump:

Take a paper bag, soak it in vinegar and lay it on the "area", also taking a luke-warm bath with vinegar helps. Something in the vinegar helps neutralize the pain? I had sun poisoning last summer and these were the only things that really helped me, I also went to the Dr and had to get pain meds for the pain associated with it, so I would also recommend going to the Dr just to have it checked out. Hope you feel better.

thank you for all the suggestions, guys, and the laughs. ;D

this happened to me a few days ago, and unless you know what tingle factor is you wont fully understand what i mean. i didnt fully get it either until i researched it that nite.

i wasn't burned. im not burned now either. tingle factor basically is niacin. (vitamin B3)

the "factor" # refers to the amount of nicotinates (niacin/vitaminB3 derivatives) that are in the lotion.

anyone who takes vitamin B knows that if you are sensitive to it, it will cause major flushing of the skin, but it's temporary, harmless, and will go away.

directly applied to the skin, it increases microcirculation in the capillaries and cells that are in charge of melanin and the darkening of your skin in the sun. this increased blood flow supplies more oxygen to the cells. the more oxygen the cells get the better they work to perform the reaction they need to darken.

the increased blood flow also turns you red/purple whatever depending on the amount you had. (same as flushing after ingesting vitaminB)

since i didnt apply the lotion myself, it only was absorbed in the area that touched the acrylic bed, hence my butt, thighs, and some of my shoulders and arms.

i think that my reaction was worse because it was uninvited, unexpected, and too powerful. #25 is just outrageous. but i learned yesterday that my local place carries up to #40. WTF!? who needs that. well, there's a market so it sells.

basically, i wanted to tell you all that the feeling i had was of burning and heat. that tingle was gone in about 3 hrs. the color went away in about 5 hrs (supposed to last 45 mins to 2 hrs MAX)
however, altho there is no scientific facts that this tingle stuff works to give ppl better color, i can say that my butt is DEF darker where the lotion was than where it was not. NOW, i did NOT see that same effect where is was on my back, arms and legs. only my butt
so my conclusion is mixed. i didnt enjoy the feeling because i didnt put it there. i was annoyed that it happened to me. i had tried tingle before and didnt care for it. BUT my butt is darker. so something worked. why didnt it work on the arms and legs, too? so if someone were to ask me if it worked for it's selling purpose, i say yes on the butt, no on the other areas. what i can add is that my butt was a bit lighter than any other area affected. maybe that is the reason. in the bed i have NO butt cover, but in the real sun i do.

altho i felt it, i wan't actually burned. that's the scary part. but i knew that i wasnt literally burned, and that's why i was able to laugh at my purple butt. it was funny to be honest, but very uncomfortable and annoying.

thanks for all the suggestions!!! i really appreciate the concern for my butt :lol2: <--purple
