View Full Version : The Completely Not About Anything Thread Charlie-Survivor 08-03-2005, 02:45 AM Alright everyone I thought it was about time that someone made a thread about anything that you want to talk about. Really just talk about anything. Charlie-Survivor 08-03-2005, 02:54 AM So i guess I'll start things off. I really like the new smiley feature here at the Fuse, does everyone like my Driveshaft one at the bottom of my sig? pug3323 08-03-2005, 11:50 AM hahah. I enjoy your smilies on your sig :) Ok, does anyone watch The Real World.. omg, what a train wreck that show is. And yet, I love to watch it. My sister and I get such a kick out of it...Well, last nights episode was sad.... aliaslover 08-03-2005, 12:04 PM So i guess I'll start things off. I really like the new smiley feature here at the Fuse, does everyone like my Driveshaft one at the bottom of my sig? LOL. Yes, it's very cute. Since this thread is about nothing (a la Seinfeld), I'll just say what's up with women's basketball? Minnesota traded Katie Smith and now Charlotte has traded Dawn Staley. Of the two, the Minnesota trade is the most puzzling. Oh, and another thread went off on a kudzu tangent. I just wanted to recommend the Live Action Short "Kudzu" that I saw in the 70's. It's a mini-documentary about kudzu that I remember being interesting and funny. They interviewed James Dickey and Jimmy Carter, among others, but of course kudzu was the real star. Charlie-Survivor 08-03-2005, 04:09 PM Women's basketball has always been a bit confusing to me lol! RamessesIX 08-03-2005, 04:28 PM C-S, your smileys rock! Last weekend I became the last nerd in America to see Star Wars III. Figured I'd better go see it before it's out of theaters. I liked it, generally. The plot was a bit contrived, and the dialogue typical wooden Lucas fare, but the set pieces were gorgeous and it was cool seeing everything fall into place for the first trilogy. Strange feeling, watching a movie where you know the bad guys are going to win. Tonight I think I am going to stop at the convenience store for a pint of Ben & Jerry's Cherry Garcia frozen yogurt. PhillyGirl2873 08-03-2005, 05:39 PM This sounds a lot like random. Just be careful about your posting here or it may be taken away. pug3323 08-03-2005, 05:44 PM This sounds a lot like random. Just be careful about your posting here or it may be taken away. You know, that did cross my mind... (yay for ridiculous randomness!!) As far as womens basketball goes.. I understand it. I don't watch it however. Im more into watching the guys.... (Go 'Cuse...a bit early, but I like to cheer year round) RamessesIX: yum. Cherry Garcia is soo good.. ugh, I havent had ice cream in a very long time.... bigbrowndog 08-03-2005, 11:13 PM hahah. I enjoy your smilies on your sig :) Ok, does anyone watch The Real World.. omg, what a train wreck that show is. And yet, I love to watch it. My sister and I get such a kick out of it...Well, last nights episode was sad.... I live in Austin and the guy the Johanna is in love with Leo, I am friends with his ex. If you guys think he is HOT on TV, let me tell you he is about 100 times hotter in real life! To top it all off he is one of the sweetest guys I have ever met. I love the Real World and I think it's hilarious. Sad but hilarious. When did it become the Booze World? The last couple seasons have been nothing but drinking and hooking up.:p Charlie-Survivor 08-04-2005, 01:04 AM Thanks for the sig support everyone! lol. I"m glad to see the toppy is rolling! pug3323 08-04-2005, 10:18 AM When did it become the Booze World? The last couple seasons have been nothing but drinking and hooking up.:p I know, right!!! My sister and I were talking about that. Do they do anything else? Not that I haven't gone on 2 week benders before... but hey, it was senior week! (so, I went to a few senior weeks:biggrin: ) I don't remember the earlier season being that bad. I would get sick of bars all the time... I wish they would film a real world near me. It would be kinda cool... Not that it would EVER happen.... I live in the sticks RamessesIX 08-04-2005, 12:48 PM This sounds a lot like random. Just be careful about your posting here or it may be taken away. Killjoy. :poking: Seriously, the mods may have more bandwidth and server space with the new board. Who knows? I didn't get my Ben & Jerry's last night because I didn't get out of rehearsal until 11. I did stab myself in the thumb, though. I am not having a good karma week. PhillyGirl2873 08-04-2005, 12:51 PM I know, I'm such a goody two shoes, aren't I? :p How in god's name did you stab yourself in the thumb? RamessesIX 08-04-2005, 01:02 PM How in god's name did you stab yourself in the thumb? I was setting up sound equipment for Oliver last night, and I need to get the plastic tie off of one of the cables to uncoil it. So I pulled and yanked and tried to thread it back out - not budging. Then I get a bright :58: - I just so happened to have a keychain with a retractable blade in my pocket (the story behind this is the other stupid thing I did this week). So I get set to cut the tie, thinking I'm going to have to saw my way through this tough plastic strip. Well, that blade cut through that thing like it was paper and didn't stop going until it had jabbed my other thumb. Blood everywhere. I'm such a klutz. :) PhillyGirl2873 08-04-2005, 01:08 PM Oh my goodness, I'm sorry to hear that. At least you didn't cut it off. RamessesIX 08-04-2005, 01:35 PM Oh my goodness, I'm sorry to hear that. At least you didn't cut it off. Thanks for the sympathy. :) Yes, a more grevious injury would have been embarrassing if nothing else. "Why didn't your show open on time?" "Oh, our sound tech dismembered himself untying microphone cables." pug3323 08-04-2005, 01:45 PM oh my God, RamessesIX, OUCH!!! Hope your thumb isnt in too much pain. And maybe you can get ice cream tonight:) chellly 08-04-2005, 02:05 PM alright! a thread that is exactly like my thought process.... ok so anyone else in to hockey? i'm so excited it's back! not that i understand it. love watching the fights. speaking of reality tv - who is going to watch that tommy lee goes to college thing in the fall? so weird. oh! and being bobby brown??? talk about train wrecks. hopefully people will start getting tired of this stuff soon and the reality craze will calm down a bit. it's getting out of hand. RamessesIX 08-04-2005, 02:42 PM oh my God, RamessesIX, OUCH!!! Hope your thumb isnt in too much pain. And maybe you can get ice cream tonight:) Thanks, Pug. It's a fairly deep cut, but I wash it and change the Band-Aid from time to time and it's OK. After the week I have had I would definitely say that I deserve some ice cream. :) RamessesIX 08-04-2005, 02:43 PM alright! a thread that is exactly like my thought process.... ok so anyone else in to hockey? i'm so excited it's back! not that i understand it. love watching the fights. Hockey's OK, I'm not a big fan but glad it's back. Baseball's the sport I love -- at least it would be if the Red Sox would ever LOSE! pug3323 08-04-2005, 02:49 PM After the week I have had I would definitely say that I deserve some ice cream. :) oh, def. I would have to agree Speaking of Ramesses unfortunate injury. Anyone else a fan of that bactine spray?? I love it.. Maybe I'm wierd... I'm not a huge hockey fan at all... Ive been to a River Rats game and that was fun.. I went to a D1 hockey college too... I think I went to 2 games the whole time I was there. Horrible, aren't I... speaking of reality tv - who is going to watch that tommy lee goes to college thing in the fall? so weird. oh! and being bobby brown??? talk about train wrecks. hopefully people will start getting tired of this stuff soon and the reality craze will calm down a bit. it's getting out of hand. The reality tv is out of control!!! I dont plan on watching Tommy Lee. I feel he would annoy me. RamessesIX 08-04-2005, 04:24 PM I can't stand reality TV. On the surface, it has the potential to take the game-show competition format to a new level, but in practice most of the shows are exercises in humiliation and voyeurism. One of my high school classmates was actually a candidate on The Apprentice, though. (My only celebrity connection!) I have to admit to a smidge of satisfaction when the person was fired by The Hairpiece, simply out of spite which completely unbecomes me. (Or does that belong in the Confession Thread?) Charlie-Survivor 08-04-2005, 06:13 PM You knew someone who was on the Apprentice? That's cool! aliaslover 08-04-2005, 07:12 PM speaking of reality tv - who is going to watch that tommy lee goes to college thing in the fall? so weird. oh! and being bobby brown??? talk about train wrecks. hopefully people will start getting tired of this stuff soon and the reality craze will calm down a bit. it's getting out of hand. Here's what Kathy Griffin said about Being Bobby Brown: {Question]Everyone knows you're a huge fan of reality television, and there are so many on the air now. But have you seen the Whitney and Bobby one? I. Love. Every. Moment! I call it "Meet the McCrackersons," because it's like a cracked-out "Ozzie and Harriet." It's like watching that show "America Undercover," or an episode of "Frontline" where they just go directly into a crackhouse. I mean, who knew they were more nuts than what we've already seen? And I love it when they can't even remember their daughter's name. They're like, "Be quiet, um, May ... um, Lin ... um, I mean ...our daughter!" And the poor thing. You know she's stuffing all her feelings with food, and that's gotta kill Whitney. Although -- as beautiful as Whitney is, she is now officially Dionne Warwicke. It's unbelievable how much they now look so identical. [Question]You're right! Like when she wears her visor, you could swear Dionne is making a guest appearance. And they never used to look alike at all. But you know what else? There are some moments on that show where I really feel for Whitney, you know? She's clearly in the throes of drug addiction. I am just such a fan of hers, and I think about how she used to be our generation's Streisand. And it's not like that was 20 years ago -- she was fine up until about five years ago, you know? Whitney has run with heads of state, with kings. And now, all she wants to do is hole up in the Hyatt in Atlanta and let her husband beat her up and do drugs. And he will always be in her shadow, and he will never want her to leave that addiction. I'm sure that whenever she has her rehab, I'm sure he's always trying to bring her back to the dark side, and yet she is the worst person on the planet for him because he'll never feel like a big man around her, and you can tell that his whole thing is that he needs to feel like a big man. pug3323 08-05-2005, 10:17 AM I have never seen the whitney and bobby show.. And I'm soooooo glad that I haven't. Charlie-Survivor 08-05-2005, 08:43 PM I have never seen the whitney and bobby show.. And I'm soooooo glad that I haven't. I haven't seen it either... Karri 08-05-2005, 09:28 PM Killjoy. :poking: Seriously, the mods may have more bandwidth and server space with the new board. Who knows? The bandwidth and server space have absolutely nothing to do with not having chatty threads, never did. Closing this thread now since it is basically just the randomness threads retread. |
