Time for speculation, dreams, wishes, etc. How do you want Season 2 to begin?

I want it to begin right where it left off with Jack and Locke at the hatch.

I completely agree! :)

couldn't agree more. I love the mystery around most things on the island and the theories that come with it, but i think we're more than overdue some answers!

I want to know the answer to all of them! I voted for Walt/others, though. I think it'd be interesting, and suspenseful, to start off the season following the others back to their "secret lair" :) .

I have to admit, the hatch is quite the mystery. However, personally, I'm dying to know whether all the rafters are allright and unhurt (Sawyer/Jin shot or not?) ... and their next fate.

The hatch, by far. We've been told that what's in there will be very important to them and will change the course of their lives on the island.

I think it's important that the hatch be opened and the contents be...vague. You know, it has to create more questions than it answers and "prove" something to both Locke and Jack's characters that makes certain that there is more of that nice dramatic tension involved. I think Kate needs to "come over to Locke's side" for a while, at least while Sawyer is away. She's a great enabler and she's got enough backbone that she could hang out with Locke without being converted; she might even get along better with Locke because as crazy as he is he's a lot more practical in a lot of things than Jack is.

Before the season is over I think Charlie needs to once and for all get past his addictions, if for no other reason that Dominic Monaghan going the other direction and turning into either a catastrophic disaster area or some sort of villain bothers me. I think the ambiguity is what makes the show work and all, but unless post-baby Claire is some sort of hyper super bitch she's too sweet and too important an influence on Charlie for him to fail in an audience friendly way.

As for Walt and the rafters though, I don't know what I think. Since there's absolutely no real information yet besides, "Dey gots boats and want de kids" I don't know what to make of the pirates. As long as it doesn't lead to Matt Fox in tights swinging from ropes across the decks I'm cool with it. Hrm, if Hugo Reyes wanted to do that though it would be brilliant.

Hmm, Kate working side by side Locke. That's a very intriguing thought. What about the fact that Jack got her to commit to watching his back? Wouldn't he feel she was going against him, if she was working with Locke?

I want to know about the hatch of course. I agree that they need to move Charlie past the drug addiction storyline this season. I really want to see him grow as a character. The further development of the Charlie/Claire storyline would be much more successful than the drug thing I think.

Yes, but you know they are going to have to at least re-visit it. I think it's important for Charlie to give up the drugs knowing that there is a plane filled with them. Before, Charlie was faced with the fact that he was going to run out of the drugs anyway, so eventually he took the drugs back and burned them. The temptation was gone, there was nothing he could have done to get them back, his only choice was to be clean. He only needed the willpower to destroy the heroin and he was free. Now he has a life time supply of heroin, what will he do? It will be interesting to see how he handles this challenge. We saw him take a statue so we are left with the question will he or won't he. This story line still intrigues me and I think it will be important for him to give up the drugs knowing that they are readily availble. Only then can he really kick the habit.

Of course I'm coming from the experience of an ex-smoker, so it's a little different then quitting heroin, but kicking the habit is not easy and I still smoke socially on occassion (ok, more often then I would like lately :( ).I want everywhere to become smoke free to make it easier for me to not smoke, because when I go to bars I end up bumming and then I'm disgusted with myself in the morning. Addictions are not easy to break even when they are out of your system. Anyway, my point is that there is more here and I would like to see Charlie go through more character building struggles.

First, I don't know if you noticed this, but there's no ladder in the hatch.. In fact there's one, but it's broken, and they can't use it.

So, it will take time before they find a way to go down into the hatch

.. 4 ou 5 episodes

They have to go down that hatch, first thing. I mean that hatch drove me crazy all season 1 and ....I mean....I WANT TO KNOW!!!!!!

It would be interesting if Locke and Kate somehow discover that they are actually half brother and sister.

Anyways...
Even though I'm dying to know what's down the hole, my vote went to the rafters. Their predicament was the worst out of the three.

Any chance you can put another option in the poll? I want the season to start with something unexpected, like another flashback to the airport or plane flight, illuminating something previously unknown. Or something else equally unexpected. I was annoyed last season with how many questions got answered and how quickly they were explained. I want more mystery!

JAZZYJ

Hopefully the people at the hatch have some rope, because I have a feeling someone is getting lowered down real quick.

Who will go though.....they can't send the only female out of the group so they won't send Kate down the hatch. Hurley won't be the first to go down...for obvious reasons.

I have a feeling Locke will be the first one down the hatch, hopefully he won't just see that is open a take a face first dive straight down the hole. Jack will follow Locke and tell Kate to stay up with Hurley. Then of course Kate will be the third one down the hatch while Hurley waits at the top and is encountered by "the monster"

Just my guess, probably nothing like it will turn out.

I voted for Walt and the others because I really want to see if he's alright. The hatch is going to be drawn out all season long- they can't give us too many answers because it's the center of the show. If they answer the questions and show the monster, the mystery will be over.
Although I wouldn't mind if they just centered on Sawyer all season!!:p

How about a parallel to season 1. Where it starts with Jack waking up after the crash. Season 2 starts with somebody we have never seen before waking up right after the crash. Somebody like Rose's husband...

Sorry, I can't edit the poll, but I did think about adding an "Other" option when I created the poll and decided to leave it with the three main cliff hangers from Exodus.

We've only seen one Claire flashback, so far. Hopefully, she'll get her memory back and we can learn more about her background. Of course, a flashback from her kidnapping would be great, too.

I'n not so sure that's true, DizzyLizzy. According to the following spoiler:

We are supposed to learn quite a bit if not all about the hatch in the first three episodes of Season 2.

Personally, I would like to see the season start right after the explosion. Hurley grabs Locke by the collar and asks him if he's mo flicking crazy! Did he not just hear what the flick he was saying? That would be good.

While I am interested in what's in the hatch, I'm a little more interested in seeing how the raft people are doing. All alone in the water at night time, with nothing but the light of their burning raft to see by? Oooh, that's gotta be good to see how they get back.

I would like the season to start with the same beginning as season one, only with Ana.
Or maybe the rafters. I don't want to see what's in the hatch so soon, it'll kill some of the tension in the series. They probably do the hatch after what i've read in the spoilers

I picked the rafters but I definately think they will start with the hatch. They will probably torture us and start with none of those. The'll show us redshirts for five episodes till we can't stand it anymore. :)

About the DVD, I have mine on pre-order and I originally thought it was coming out on Sep. 1st, but now I see that Amazon.com says it won't be released until like Sept. 6th or 7th and I won't have it until like the 12th-14th, whats up wit dat?

~Lirpa~
08-25-2005, 01:06 PM
The DVDs have always been due to come out Sept 6. With shipping it's going to take a few days to arrive. However, I think there are options to pay more and you will get it sooner. You'd have to check out your order status.

JAZZYJ
08-25-2005, 02:22 PM
Wierd.....I don't know why I was under the impression it was Sep. 1st. Oh well, a couple more days of waiting. I made it through the summer so far, so I think I can hold out a few extra days. Thanks for that info though Lirpa, now I know.

Oh and by the way when I heard that I changed the delivery to be overnighted, get me the LOST asap.

<<Madge, the show doesn't air until 9pm ET. Couldnt you go out before that?>>

I'm sure we'll at least do an early dinner, but going to a show or club will have to wait until the weekend. Darn, he'll have to take me out twice!

~Lirpa~
08-25-2005, 02:41 PM
I hear you, JazzyJ. My parents ordered mine and are having is shipped to them first. Maybe I can get my mother to have it shipped here instead. Although, I think I'm going to be in Baltimore when it arrives. I doubt they'll want to pay extra to have it shipped overnight.

Hey, Madge! It's better to go to a club on the weekend, anyway. That way you don't have to worry about work in the morning. :)

This is how I want the new season to start in a nut shell:

I show up in a small watercraft. I can only take one passenger so I take Kate with me. We fall in love and get married. Have two girls named Evangeline and Nicole. Oh, we send a rescue party for the others.

That's it folks!!

Do I sound like a 14 year old or what? :p

i think the hatch is going to be a big disappointment.

i want to know what's up with those others ... i think they are the key to the whole thing. and i want to know what heck that lostzilla is ... and i DON'T want charlie to relapse ... and i want Frenchie to give up some more answers... and i want everyone to figure out how they are all connected somehow...

is that a lot to ask for? probably...

Must find out how the rafters made it out of there. Did Sawyer get shot? Did Jin save him from drowning? Did Michael salvage any pieces of the raft?

Andy
09-01-2005, 02:35 AM
I would open up the second season with the raft gang OR Another flashback of inside the plane and maybe show more of how it went down. (Which doesn't necessarily have to answer any big mysteries)

Qboots
09-02-2005, 10:22 PM
I'd like to pick it up with Michael calling for Walt as The Others' boat speeds off into the distance. I desperately need to find out how badly the raft has been damaged, and whether Sawyer and Jin have been injured.
