View Full Version : You always remember your first time...
ThadFilms 08-15-2005, 12:18 AM Hey All,
First time poster here. (First time visitor, too.)
My buddy kept telling me to visit The Fuselage all last season, but I have this terrible habit of reading spoilers, so about four of five years ago, I simply stopped visiting sites that have spoilers... well I figured with the DVD's soon to crash onto the shelves, and season two about five weeks away, I decided to drop in...
I haven't been as excited for a new season of any show since the X-Files was in it's heyday (before they moved the production to L.A.)... but I am equally afraid of a massive letdown. Here's hoping the second season, is in the same realm of greatness that the first season was.
Anybody else as conflicted as I am?

QueenElessar 08-15-2005, 09:38 AM Hey ThadFilms! :)
Welcome to the Fuselage!
I understand where you're coming from...I think it's impossible not to be a little worried about maintaining the quality on a show as good as Lost! :)
But I'm so into the characters at this point, and so invested in their journeys...that I think I'm just going to trust that the quality of the writing will continue :)
CharliesHoodie 08-15-2005, 12:05 PM I think it'll be better than Season 1...though Season 1 was totally amazing!
In Season 1, there were all these unsolved mysteries that really frustrated us and kept us on the edge of our seats. In Season 2, some of these mysteries will be answered and new things will come up and we'll all start to understand things a lot more.

Welcome, nice to have you drop in. I will say that it is possilbe to read this site and avoid spoilers. I hate spoilers, outside of really minor ones. I don't mind reading things that come directly from the creative staff, they usually don't spill anything big.
Now with season 2 I think that it will be good too. I have read some of the things from "Ask Ausiello" on http://www.tvguide.com/news/askausiello/ at tvguide.com. Sounds good to me. Sounds like we will get some answers, but I am sure there will be many other questions raised.
The link to tvguild.com contains some minor spoilers. Mostly about what season 2 will deal with and some of the questions that will be answered. (not the answer, just which questions will be answered.)
UmLayla 08-15-2005, 03:53 PM I think it will be as good or even better, because we should be getting some answers for things left unanswered from season 1, (so we'll be able to know a little more of what's happening) and I'm sure or course there will be new mysteries too!!
ThadFilms 08-15-2005, 04:18 PM Thanks for the welcome, folks...
What if the answers aren't as good as the questions? ...as too often is the case... I can only hope that questions are answered with... more questions. (As frustrating as that sounds.) Check that, give us plenty of answers, but have most of the answers followed by questions even more interesting than those that were answered.
Even though I voted for "in the same realm", I feel that season two will be a just a little below season one, with season three being the one that blows the first two away. But then again, Lost had me at "plane crash". I'm sure the the Lost boys (and girls) will have plenty of shock and awe for us in season two.

CharlieLuv 08-15-2005, 05:32 PM I think it will be better than season one, but it might take it a little bit to get there. But I feel as though it will surpass season one. I'm just patiently waiting to see what happens.
Ethansgirl 08-15-2005, 06:36 PM This will still be appointment TV for me...every new episode, all season. I love the change in timeslot so I won't miss half the eps while getting the kids to bed (and then have to rewatch the tape later). It's nice to have a show that my husband and I both like, too--those are rare.
All this being said, I'll be seriously ticked if they fail to revisit and answer some of the pivotal season one issues...like who Ethan was, what happened to Claire, and how Danielle played into it. I don't care about before-the-crash flashback info; it's the "current" events (what happens on the island) stuff I want to know.

I might agree with that statement. (But there are a few good filmmakers out there, and I do enjoy going sporting events, the symphony, and art museums... but that's just quibbling.)
As per EthansGirl above...
Change in time slot? When is it coming on? ... Pleas tell me they flopped it with Alias... (I hate watching quality drama while the sun is still peaking through the windows.)

It's coming on an hour later. 9:00 EST

I don't know about Alias, but Lost is slated for 9pm EST this fall (instead of 8pm).
Andruin 08-16-2005, 10:20 AM Since I'm one of the big mystery guys... i.e. I want answers... I think this season will be better. I'm starting to wonder how long the flashback formula can go before getting stretched - ala Homecoming.

Alias is moving to Thrusday at 8pm EST. Thankfully I have TiVo.

JAZZYJ 08-16-2005, 11:48 AM It's gonna be well good.
Earendil 08-22-2005, 06:28 PM First off, Welcome to the board!
Second, I think that Season 2 will be as great, if not better than Season 1. S1 gave us all the set up, S2 will deliver on some of the mysteries. I hold out high hopes for it.
fanofangel 08-22-2005, 09:57 PM I voted better than Season 1. The first season I was all about the island. I think the second season will be all about the characters for me. There is so much I still want to know about each character, I can't wait, I'm so excited. I'm looking forward to years of fun.
Animal 08-24-2005, 05:42 PM The scenes that I enjoyed the most on the first season were the ones actually based on the island, rather then in flashbacks. When it came to some of the characters having multiple flashbacks, or in kates case, three, I thought it got a bit much.
I enjoy seeing how they're coping with survival, or how they interact in their new environment. But I got bored of jacks flashbacks to be honest.
