Hurley doesn't have a watch on right after the plane crashes, Jack gives him his to check Claire's contractions. In later episodes Hurley wears a piece of cloth wrapped around his right wrist. He wears a big gold watch in Numbers when he is driving his mom to the new house.

The smaller dials are a chronograph representing hours, minutes, and seconds. It gives an analog watch the same functionality as a stopwatch.

I think the reason for the close-up might be product-placement. They probably got the Rolex for free (maybe even made a profit) in exchange for featuring it prominently. Just a guess. :undecide:

I don't have the screencaps list with me on this computer, but I noticed something I thought belonged in this thread.

The only scene I've seen Christian wearing a wedding band in is when he talks to Jack in his hospital office in ATBCHDI. He is not wearing one in the pool scene in DNH or in the bar with Sawyer in Outlaws.

Good find, ducky! Wow. It never occurred to me to look, but I guess he and Veronica Hamil divorced after his "incident". But one thing I noticed when they re-ran DNH is that the mom wasn't there. Am I right? Did anyone notice Jack's mother in the wedding scenes? She didn't have a speaking scene with him, cause I waited for one. Why wouldn't Jack's mom be at his wedding, when his dad was? And is the wedding before or after the "incident"? If after, then it's REALLY weird that Christian turned up.

See that's my quandry. It seems like perhaps Christian's marriage was on the rocks at the time of Jack's wedding, because Margo wasn't there and he wasn't wearing a ring. At that time he and Jack were on relatively good terms. Then the surgery incident happens and Christian is wearing his ring at that time. In Outlaws he's not wearing a ring, but he's run out on his wife and on a serious bender so who knows. In WR when Margo sends Jack to look for his father I think she is wearing a wedding ring. So maybe their marriage has had multiple ups and downs or the timeline is off.

I am amazed you guys can still come up with new info and thoughts. I'm going to cruise screencaps tonight, and see what I can see.

Edit: I don't think the creative team has commented on the order of flashbacks. In fact I'm guessing in the future they will tend to hop around instead of follow a chronological order. But so far I think Jack's have gone backward in time.

This has got to be just a still somebody snapped on set, during a break or something; unless it's a deleted scene. And I think the Oceanic bottles have a white lable with the symbol in blue. This looks like plain ol' Aquafina to me.

Excellent question, I never really thought about it outside the obvious, that the flashback of each episode usually somehow parallels an emotional situation happening in the episode.

This may deserve its own thread actually.

These are a few I can think of off the top of my head, some are fairly obscure.

The handing off of the puppy from the family Jin had to scare to Sun, Walt giving Shannon Vincent. Also the missing dog flier on the car in the toy store parking lot in DEM.

Kate unearthing a time capsule and the uncovering of the hatch.

Jack losing his dad's patient due to his Dad's negligence (ATBCHDI) and losing Boone to Locke's omission of information.

I watched the poolside chat scene with Christian and Jack in DNH last night. I was wrong, Christian is wearing a wedding ring in that scene. The light catches it a couple of times. Darn screencaps. It's still curious as to why Margo wasn't there.

Also in the scene at the rehersal dinner where Sarah makes her toast to Jack you can see she's wearing an engagement ring when she lifts her champagne glass. Haven't seen a screencap of it.

The vesica piscis (or icthys) is a symbol made from two circles of the same radius, intersecting in such a way that the centre of each circle lies on the circumference of the other. The name literally means the bladder of the fish.

It could be that that preview doesn't really happen in this episode. They have done that to us in the past. It could be her reaction to shooting Shannon or someone else she was on the plane with or knew well and was killed by an other.

On Tib's thread yesterday, there was mention of the true cross. I've never heard of this before, but basically it is splinters of wood from the cross Jesus was crucified on. Supposedly they are spread world wide, but the thing that jumped out at me was that some pieces were encased in gold and silver and worn as necklaces.

That's exactly what I was looking for. I don't know why I couldn't find it but I think I was being too specific, I thought I knew what it might be called and it narrowed my search too much. Bookmarked the site too. Very interesting.

In the 23rd Psalm, Eko is wearing one earring in his ear. During the scene where he is talking to the lady selling the statues, the earring switches from one ear to the other. I think it goes from being in the left ear to being in the right ear in the middle of their discussion.

The boxes (or box) which hold the rings (or ring) have a distinct, cube shape. Also, the cut(s) of the diamond(s) are both square.

If there is a connection between Bernard in Locke in Bernard getting Locke's rejected ring, I think that would be really neat. I am well aware that this could be complete speculation, and I wish I had the screencaps to back up what I'm saying, but I can't get them. If anyone agrees, has screencaps, or thinks I'm a complete nutjob, feel free to comment.

I don't think you're crazy at all: and even if they're not supposed to be the same ring, per se, I certainly think we were supposed to note the two proposals and the similarities and differences between the two relationships. Interesting idea gradyboy!

I watched Raised By Another again yesterday. At first it just looks like it's got a few beads, but in some shots you see some sort of medallion. Ok...wedding rings should come in boxes, considering their worth. All the pictures presented are blurry of the rings. Come to think of it, Jin's ring has a white piece, Locke's seems all metal/gold. I don't think 'wedding rings in a box' is something to look into too deeply unless you can prove they're all the same (in which case, I'm going to laugh very loud how they're going to be spending a season explaining THAT one)

They are not wedding rings, they are engagement rings and the diamonds are both pretty big. Locke was probably counting on the money he was supposed to have gotten from Cooper when he bought the ring.

I watched Raised By Another again yesterday. I was wondering if anyone ever sussed out what Thomas's necklace (http://www.lost-media.com/modules.php?name=coppermine&file=displayimage&album=237&pos=102)was? At first it just looks like it's got a few beads, but in some shots you see some sort of medallion. The medallion is conveniently hidden (http://www.lost-media.com/modules.php?name=coppermine&file=displayimage&album=237&pos=110) in the close-up screen caps.

Maybe it's both, the trick is in figuring out where you are...

Idemandashrubbery, I get the fact that this theory seems to hold no water, and I seriously doubt that (if it is true) it is going to be a major plot point, but I think that there is a good possibility of a connection between Locke and Bernard with their wedding ring(s). Too true. What started out as one of my wild theories has evolved into a spot for all the jewelry sightings, just in case it leads somewhere. I guess I should check the first post and change it.......maybe tomorrow. :biggrin:

In "The Experience" video of the Gary Troup interview on Book Talk, during clip 3 of 9, Gary Troup makes hand gestures that display a double banded sliver ring on his left hand with a large round blue stone of some kind.

Laird Granger has a much smaller gold ring, not nearly as distinctive.
