I see the seasons premiere is starting at 9pm, is this going to be the new time for the show? I hope not. I really liked the 8pm time slot.

Lost is moving to the 9 PM timeslot. And actually, it's probably more beneficial for the show to be in that timeslot. Most of the time, more family oriented programs are in the 8 PM timeslot and Lost is a very mature themed show. Also, even though it does differ show to show, on average, most shows in the 9 PM timeslot do better than shows in the 8 PM timeslot. Also, with Lost at 9 PM, it could potentially help the ratings of the shows in the 8 PM and 10 PM timeslots.

Yes I am a fan of Ron White. That is where I got my screen name.

I understand the change to 9pm, I was curious if that was the new time. Thanks for the responses.

I actually like the 9pm slot better than the 10pm placement for the re-runs. :p

Actually here in Texas it'll be 8 p.m. I prefer it much better.

Yeah, Central's usually an hour behind the West & East Coasts. Did it used to be at 7pm over there?

Yeah it was at 7 p.m. here. I'm glad that it'll be an hour later since it might be more adventoruous or something this year.

9 p.m. here in O-hi-o. I don't care, as long as I get Lost.

That's the bottom line, isn't it? Anytime as long as we get it!

Looks like ABC is picking up the slack left over from NBC and trying to make Wednesday the new "must see TV".

I'm really happy about the schedule changes, especially now that Lost and Alias aren't on the same night! That was a bit too much to handle. I guess ABC finaly realized that the two shows have a lot of the same fans, so two different nights just makes more sense.

I've never watched Alias, but the time change (moves to 8pm here) works for me too, since it used to be on at 7 here and one of my girls has gymnastics class on Wednesdays from 6 to 7. So I always had to remember to set the DVR to record so I wouldn't miss the beginning. I forgot a couple times and was inconsolable. :fear3:

Actually I wish it had moved to the 9pm Central. 7-8pm is just a bad time to have a show. Most activities are wrapping up at 8pm. (I have one on Wednesday nights from 7-8pm... :unhappy:) So, like you said Sheebs, it cuts it real close either way!

Plus, usually when they move it out of "family time" we get a little more adult content added... :renske:

But I shall not miss it if I have anything to say about it!! :69:

I like the new 9pm time - I can get the kids to bed before I start watching, but now I will have to go back to the "Countdown" thread and edit my countdown to reflect this new timeslot

I for one am happy about the new time slot. I get off work at 8:15 so when it was on at 8pm I drove like a crazy person to get home and had to sit in my work clothes until a commercial before I could change. Now I have time to get the popcorn ready. :)

I set my vcr anyway but sometimes family members around here accidentally (I think) turned it off. That's why I still drove like a madwomen home.

here in Utah it is going to be on at 8 pm . . . I think its a better time slot.

i like the new time slot, because it gives me time to deal with family things. (like getting kids to bed)

what i don't like, are the two lead in shows right before LOST, "George Lopez" and "Freddie". i get the feeling the ABC is using LOST as a lead in for their new show, "Invasion".

I know what you mean, Kerry from Cali, I'm not overly impressed by Lost's lead-in this year either. I don't know why they didn't put Alias before it (I think it's on at 8 on Thursdays this year, but I could be wrong). That would give them 3 solid hours of similar-type programs, although maybe it's too much JJ-ness and mystery for one night.

I like the time change though and I'm hoping it means that they'll be pushing the envelope even farther this year with later time slot.

They are hoping you will sit down and watch "George Lopez and Freddie before you watch LOST. You know, kinda like, "while you sit there waiting for LOST to come on..." I'm glad I'm gonna miss it. Still I'm either going to have to leave my meeting 15 minutes early (of which if they ever found out WHY I was leaving early I would NEVER hear the end of it...) OR be 15 minutes late for LOST. That stinks.

I heard that the next season is gunna be a little more violent, and bloddy and stuff (awsome) so they're glad that its later, so less kida watch it :D

and, Im glad its later, cuz if at church, they decide to move Young Womans to Wendsday, I still won't miss it :D

Well, I can't comment on ABC's new schedule, since I don't have ABC here. But in Argentina they put it at 8 o'clock on mondays, through AXN. I didn't like much that time slot because I leave English at 7:30 P.M., so I hardly made it (Had to go running to catch the bus to be on time). I hope it gets a better schedule next season.

Anyway, I liked that AXN repeated them on sundays as well (And in a way like if they were marathons. 6 episodes in a row or stuff like that. Pretty good to catch up if you missed a few).

lol, I understand this. Wednesday was our night (scouts, Webelos for that matter just like Locke), now we are moved to Thursday, so Alias conflict.

But it sounds like I will soon be released so both nights will be free.

Am I the only one not happy about the time change?? I hate when the networks change times, because I have this schedule of shows I like to watch and when they start changing them, I miss something. Like now, Lost and Veronica Mars are on at the same time, just like on Tuesdays, Gilmore Girls and Bones are on the same time. I have to watch one and tape one to watch later.

I just need TiVo, I guess!

9 years (well I did get a 2 year break as EQ president). Why are they releasing me? I guess they think that I have corrupted the minds of the youth enough already. Actually it will be a nice change, since we will have a new baby in the house soon. I can stay home and give my wife a night out.

Now you just need to make Lost fans out of your YW leaders. This will make sure that they get you home in time. :msn-wink:

It's taking over my beloved Alias time slot. Oh well, Lost is one of my favorite shows so I hope that it does well in this slot. I also hope that if Alias ends this year it will have a good happy ending. After all sydney has gone through a ton and deserves happiness. Anyway, back to lost. 9 is a better time slot, so that's a huge whoohooo to the cast of lost.

Did anybody catch Naveen on Tavis Smiley? I pulled up the transcript from the Web--

http://www.pbs.org/kcet/tavissmiley/archive/200508/20050826_transcript.html#2

The conversation at the end was so cute, with Tavis picking up on Naveen's suggestiveness about the later time slot and "it's an island and people have needs"--and Tavis goes, "Yeah, so people have more needs at a later time slot."

Which is fine as far as I'm concerned!

What I most definitely do NOT like about the new 9 PM timeslot is that now the show goes on directly against last season's SECOND best new show, Veronica Mars.

Which, I'm sure, is intentional.

The only losers here are us, viewers of quality television.

Sigh.

Time to finally get Tivo, I guess.
