View Full Version : Who else is going back to school?
kayid23 08-25-2005, 07:09 PM I hate it I hate it I hate it... It's going to take up all of my time, I'm not in a class with hardly any of my friends, not to mention an entire team, and we might have to switch to uniforms. LIFE SUCKS! I hate everything!
Ahem...
So does anyone else have to go back but don't want to? I feel like I'm the only person in the world who is all alone in their class... I'm usually surrounded by friends but they switched the teams up this year and bam, I'm in with the preps...
Aurora10 08-25-2005, 07:19 PM I started school on Monday. It's okay. *shrugs* The only problem I have is with my pre-cal class. The teacher doesn't really teacher. He gets the notes from the book, writes them on the board, and tells us do some questions from the book. I HATE that. How am I suppose to learn? But anyway, the rest of my classes are cool. One of my best friends is in my history class. I'm really looking foward to the football games...YAY! They're always so fun. Frat parties, too. lmao
Bescky 08-25-2005, 07:27 PM I started school last week.
Aurora10 08-25-2005, 07:30 PM Tell us about it! :)
Charlie-Survivor 08-25-2005, 08:44 PM I Absolutely Positively Hate School!!!!!!!!!!!
kayid23 08-25-2005, 08:52 PM I Absolutely Positively Hate School!!!!!!!!!!!
YOU ROCK!!!
Bescky 08-25-2005, 09:29 PM I Absolutely Positively Hate School!!!!!!!!!!!
I agree especially since this year as a Junior is so totally gonna be a pain in the butt. I mean its already tough. Grrr.
lostfan88 08-25-2005, 10:11 PM I started my senior year of high school on August 11. :p Georgia starts soo early! A family member of mine who also lives here started August 1st.
Bescky 08-25-2005, 10:14 PM Well that is early I started on the 15th. At least you have one more year of high school left. I have this year and the next.
lostfan88 08-25-2005, 10:21 PM Good luck! I definitely thought Junior year was the hardest.
Bescky 08-25-2005, 10:43 PM So I have heard from other people.
sawyergirl2 08-26-2005, 12:53 AM Yep, started back to school this Wednesday...happy to see my friends again and go back to the dorms...but not so much the actual school work:drowsy:
God's tom 08-26-2005, 04:58 AM Not to rub it in, or anything but.....
I'm so glad I never have to go back to school again!:p
I hated school so much!
CharlieLuv 08-26-2005, 09:15 AM I don't go back to school until this upcoming Wednesday. I'm going to be a senior this year but I'm not sure if I'm going to like it or not. Maybe I won't like the AP classes.
morning_glory 08-26-2005, 11:20 AM I'm a High School Librarian, does that count? And I am not happy to be back, after 2 months off, having to get up at 6am is not fun, and whom ever decided it was a good idea to give me the authority over people is seriously mental.....
chellly 08-26-2005, 11:44 AM lol @ mg and lonewolf. I was reading this thread and thinking "Man, I don't remember what HS was like". :) I am taking college courses online though, so that counts! Started back last week.
BurningStar4 08-26-2005, 01:55 PM I started school Monday. Even though it's college and there is a lot more freedom than High School I still hate going back. I just can't get into the funk of things and once I finally do, the semester ends and I have a long break again! UGh!
kayid23 08-28-2005, 11:30 AM I like High School better than Middle school, believe it or not. All I'm thinking is "So close to freedom..." I can't wait to go to college and leave this place!
Chrio1 08-28-2005, 03:49 PM I go back to school tomorrow. I'm a second grade teacher. I'm looking forward to the seeing the kids and the staff (except for someone who works at our school and hates us). I'm not looking forward to getting up before 6 am.
Goddessglory_2001 08-28-2005, 03:52 PM I go back to school on Sept. 6. What a way to ruin an otherwise wonderful day. Plus the fact that it's a new school makes it suck all the more.
Distress Signal 08-29-2005, 06:15 PM I'm going back to school tomorow. My sister went today for this early Freshman and new kids thing. You'd think that for once not moving every single year and going to a new school every shot would be refreshing. HA! Ahahahahaha!!! I beg to differ. This same, dull depressing little high school in the middle of nowhere in some small down with dense, inbred hick losers again. For this moment at least I don't know how I'm going to handle it for another year. At least next year I won't be going to a public school anymore. YAAAYYY!!!!!!!
Aurora10 08-29-2005, 06:30 PM High school is SO much better than middle school. lol I really liked high school. I hated and loved my junior year of HS. I hated the first semester cause me and my friends had a huge fight with one of our best friends and my pre-cal class almost killed me. lol The 2nd semester was the best semester of HS. It was very fun. I really like college. Meeting new people rock and yes, you have so much more freedom...and it rocks. :) It's my 2nd week back...I'm still trying to get used to waking up all early. Blah.
technophobe 08-29-2005, 09:49 PM I agree especially since this year as a Junior is so totally gonna be a pain in the butt. I mean its already tough. Grrr.
We're in the same boat. In some ways this year is going to be awesome, but I just don't want to think about the workload! :(
Jate14 08-29-2005, 11:14 PM I'm up here in Canada so school dosen't start for another week.
Only 7 more days of sleeping in......
Well at least I have LOST to look forward to:biggrin::biggrin::biggrin: 21 days!!!!
technophobe 08-30-2005, 12:30 AM Yes. LOST gets me through the week. Something to look forward to on those bleak Monday mornings at 6 a.m. :)
Charlie-Survivor 08-30-2005, 05:44 PM OMG I'm frieking out, this is the first day in three weeks that I don't have homework!
Bescky 08-30-2005, 06:52 PM We're in the same boat. In some ways this year is going to be awesome, but I just don't want to think about the workload! :(
Yeah that's true. I've already have had about 5 tests so far this school year and most of them I didn't study for and well yeah. But the workload is a bugger really.
technophobe 08-30-2005, 07:35 PM My English class is going to kill me!! I'm already getting stressed out and we haven't even done anything yet!
sawyergirl2 08-30-2005, 07:45 PM Cell biology....that class makes my brain hurt:(
Charlie-Survivor 08-30-2005, 08:19 PM Physics makes my head spin...
technophobe 08-30-2005, 08:43 PM I actually liked physics. But my head did have its "spinning" moments. Chemistry, on the other hand....I'm not so sure I'll ever be good at that!
Bescky 08-30-2005, 10:38 PM I'm in Chemistry and I already hate it.
sawyergirl2 08-31-2005, 04:36 PM I totally agree with you Bescky! I am not enjoying chemistry...doesn't help that it's so early either
Aurora10 08-31-2005, 04:45 PM I'm not really into science at all but I have take crap loads of it for my major (physical therapy). Right now, I'm taking my 2nd history class, pre-cal, public speaking, and psychology. Pretty easy right now. Next semester, I'm gonna take pretty much all science. :( Bleh. I'm at school right now cause I have this thing to go to later. I have to participate in a psychology research study. Boo.
sawyergirl2 08-31-2005, 04:48 PM Well I'm a biology major..so im sorta stuck taking science classes. I prefer the science classes that deal with larger objects, plants, animals, the world vs. the smaller things, mircobiology, etc...
Ugh..public speaking sucked, my teacher didn't like me:(
Aurora10 08-31-2005, 04:50 PM :( How come? My public speaking teacher is crazy! I always want to crack up when she talks. lmao I used to HATE giving presentations and stuff but it doesn't bother me anymore.
sawyergirl2 08-31-2005, 04:57 PM I don't know why, I'm really pretty good at giving speechs and she would say how well I did and then give me a crap grade for no reason. I can say though that no one liked her in the class and even my friends didn't understand why she gave me bad grades...but oh well that class is done with and I will never have to take it again.
Aurora10 08-31-2005, 05:06 PM That's crazy talk!!! I can't believe she did that to you. :(
sawyergirl2 08-31-2005, 05:09 PM I know, that class sucked. It's horrible when you get a bad teacher or who just doesn't like you for no reason.
God's tom 08-31-2005, 07:42 PM Ugh..public speaking sucked, my teacher didn't like me:(
That's one of the things I absolutely despised about school.......some people are just not cut out for public speaking, but they tell you that you have to make a speech - so you either get up there & humiliate yourself...or refuse to do it and take an F.
I refused & took the F!
Ok...that was 30 years ago! I'm over it now! No bitterness here!
technophobe 08-31-2005, 08:35 PM Public speaking just ain't my thing. Too many eyeballs looking at you...:frown:
I know, that class sucked. It's horrible when you get a bad teacher or who just doesn't like you for no reason.
I hated my english teacher last year. Basically, you had to agree with her about everything in order to get an A. I don't think I was required to do any of my own thinking in that class; she did all of it for you. Shame.
Charlie-Survivor 08-31-2005, 10:06 PM Lol, I had a math teacher last year who was just like that, her name was Mrs. Porter although we called her Mrs. Porker!!
Aurora10 08-31-2005, 10:27 PM techno, teachers like that are HORRIBLE! My freshmen english teacher (hs) was just like that.I really hated that. Plus, it doesn't make sense having to agree with everything especially in an english class!
technophobe 08-31-2005, 11:58 PM I know! I used to love English class, until I got that teacher. She effectively killed the subject for me.
Charlie-Survivor 09-01-2005, 08:55 PM Hehe, ever since Mrs. Porker Math just hasn't seemed appealing...on a count of numbers bring back visons of a woman who actually looked like a pig..............
technophobe 09-01-2005, 11:58 PM Was your teacher really named Mrs. Porker? :lol2:
kayid23 09-02-2005, 08:21 PM Ooo... I have public speaking. I'm wonderful at it. It's actually fun...
Well, I don't have a teacher with a funny name, but there's this kid and his name is Matt Nipple, and his mom was going to name him Harry Nipple no joke.
Aurora10 09-02-2005, 08:36 PM OMFG! That's horrible!!!!!! :roflmao: Poor guy!!!
I had my little presentation today. We were in groups of around 8 people and after we presented, they had to tell us what we should work on and what we did well in. I knew they would say this: I talk a wee bit too fast. lmao The thing is, I kinda had to! It was suppose to be between 4 and 7 minutes and mine was 5. If I would have talked slower, it would have been over 7 minutes. Haha. They liked it, though, so I'm happy. They said I had good eye contact, story telling skills, and good facial expressions. Ha!
TheMole171 09-04-2005, 11:37 PM hey everyone! I go back to school on Wed and i'm gonna be a senior!! yay!!

Aurora10 09-05-2005, 02:27 AM Woah-ho! Sounds hard. Good luck, Mo!!! Before I was in high school, I was going to go to an all girls Catholic school but my sister talked my parents out of it. lol It's "tradition." Glad I broke it. I loved my high school.
mandyox 09-05-2005, 04:14 AM Good luck! I definitely thought Junior year was the hardest.
Great.
Charlie-Survivor 09-05-2005, 09:18 PM Was your teacher really named Mrs. Porker? :lol2:
No, her name was Mrs. Porter, but she looked like Mrs. Porker
Charlie-Survivor 09-06-2005, 09:12 AM OMG, its a school day everyone...*Sigh*

Charlie-Survivor 09-06-2005, 05:57 PM If it makes you feel any better - that's how I feel EVERY DAY at work! (sigh!) :frown:
That's what my mom says!
chellly 09-08-2005, 08:58 AM If it makes you feel any better - that's how I feel EVERY DAY at work! (sigh!) :frown:
Me too! I wish I could be in HS again. Wouldn't have to worry about:
House, kids, significant other, bills.....WORK.....House, kids, significant other, bills.....WORK.....ugh.
Rhodaaaa 09-08-2005, 10:14 AM hey everyone! I go back to school on Wed and i'm gonna be a senior!! yay!!

That's not that bad, except for spanish because whats-her-name actually speaks SPANISH. You know she lectured our class on having respect for the language/culture and on feminism.
Plus, I'm taking a science elective, which hasn't actually started yet, but I don't think any of my friends are taking it and I think everyone else in that class are probably only taking it because they didn't get into any other science class, unlike me, who chose to take this instead. I'm so worried that only stupid people are going to be in the class...hope not though.
And there's no play this year. That's what really sucks.
I'd rant more, but the bell is about to ring, and we have an all school mass-ish thing. Yay, what fun.
Charlie-Survivor 09-08-2005, 05:37 PM OMG! I have the funniest friggen school story ever.
Alright so I'm at lunch and there were no spots left except for a seat at the back table. They dissmiss us last because we are the back table so I get in the back of the line. We're all going up one stairwell so it takes a while and we're on the bottom floor and Math (Where I was going next,) was on the third. So by the time I got to math I was tarty. So I walked in and asked my teacher, Mrs. Grimm,
"Am I tarty?"
She told me,
"Yes."
I said,
"That sthinks, I was at the back table so I got in the back of the line, how am I supposed to get up here in four minutes?"
She said,
"I don't know but you'll have to be quicker next time."
Then I said,
"They need to make the passing period longer."
And then she says,
"OUT IN THE HALL!" Now I was like, 'What???' But I didn't say anything. So I follow her out in the hall and they have a chair in an empty classroom next door that she calls, 'The Buddy Chair.' So I'm all by myself in this empty room sitting staring at the wall for an hour...
That's pretty dumb eh?
Aurora10 09-08-2005, 05:39 PM That SUCKS! Some teachers are stupid like that.
I hate being a slacker. I never used to be like this!!! Argh.
Charlie-Survivor 09-08-2005, 11:45 PM *Begins to mutter meniachly*-"Buddy seat! Hmmmmm..........buddy seat meets flames! MOOAHAHHAHAHAH"
Rhodaaaa 09-09-2005, 02:22 PM haha buddy seat lmao
Charlie-Survivor 09-09-2005, 05:43 PM My mom got so pissed at my teacher that she sent a note to her saying how stupid she thought the buddy seat is!
Aurora10 09-09-2005, 06:52 PM Ohoho!!! lol What did your teacher say?
TheMole171 09-09-2005, 07:07 PM oh wow...that must have gone over well...
okay, so listen to this. My sister is a freshman at my high school this year. She decided to try out for the fall Varsity Tennis team. Originally they were going to take 16 people out of the 31 trying out, but they decided to take 24 at the last minute. They told the freshman in advance that they would only take TWO OR THREE of them. So, they put up the list of who made it, and THREE people were cut. Out of 31 people trying out, THREE were cut. My sister was one of them. So my mom, and the mom's of the other two girls complained that this was unfair to the girls who thought that they were only taking 24...then, i overheard some freshman who originally made the team talking about it who said it was stupid that the mom's called and that my sister and the two other girl's were losers...
any thoughts?
Aurora10 09-09-2005, 07:29 PM Yeah, that those girls are the losers. Ugh, people frustrate me. That whole thing isn't fair.
Charlie-Survivor 09-09-2005, 11:35 PM My teacher got....pissed.....
Sometimes I wish I was till back in HS or any school.
Been an adult ( mortgage, bills, work , kids, bills oh and did I mention bills) since I was 18.
Have no idea what it is like in collage but this grown up thing can be very over rated.
Don't rush it.
Aurora10 09-10-2005, 03:40 AM Nope! I don't wanna rush it at all.
