View Full Version : Movie ending? thenumbersarebad 09-05-2005, 05:06 PM http://movies.monstersandcritics.com/news/article_1046019.php/Movie_finale_for_Lost THIS SUCKS! *hopes this isn't true* technophobe 09-05-2005, 05:37 PM Which part sucks? The end of Lost or the supposed movie deal? Personally, I don't believe anything the website says. It's not affiliated with ABC or Lost, so I'm not worried about the imminent end of the show. BTW, welcome to the 'lage! :) thenumbersarebad 09-05-2005, 06:12 PM The movie deal would be awesome but not so soon! AnalogKid 09-05-2005, 06:19 PM They wouldn't end the show with a theatrical movie. At least, I should hope not. And the show is going to last a good 6-7 years if they can keep up the excellent writing. that1spunkygirl 09-05-2005, 06:32 PM That article's just silly. Of course the Lost stars get paid way less than the stars of Desperate Housewives. Even if Lost and Desperate Housewives were equally successful and made the same amount of profit from advertising, etc. Lostwould have way less money to go around. They shoot in Hawaii, and there are 14 stars. I'm sure Matthew, Evi, and Dom are aware of this and wouldn't be so silly or petty as to protest their pay when they're so lucky just to be on such a successful show and getting paid. It makes them look bad just to write a story like that. PBQueen 09-05-2005, 08:42 PM yeah, i hear about this on another site!! WTF?!?!? That's gonna suck if it reall happens! Charlie 09-05-2005, 08:57 PM They wouldn't end the show with a theatrical movie. At least, I should hope not. You know... Firefly kind of did that. sportbronco 09-05-2005, 10:06 PM Firefly did that because the show ended and fan demand brought about the movie. Im sure if LOST ended all of the sudden, fans would petition a movie to end the series right. Charlie 09-05-2005, 10:42 PM Yes, exactly. So let's hope that LOST doesn't end suddenly... AnalogKid 09-06-2005, 01:41 AM I wouldn't, however, have a problem with a movie that isn't the end of the story but something really big like the pilot episode was, so it has to be on the big screen. I'm talking after several seasons have gone by. I don't even see that happening, really. Neowind 09-06-2005, 09:04 AM This information has been posted on many sites now. It appears that they are going to try to end the show with a Motion Picture on the Big screen. I think this is a horrible idea. Oh well. Daniel 09-06-2005, 09:56 AM where has else has this been posted?? i can only find the one original source i've seen this news at lost-media and others but they are all just quoting that one source. i'm really really hoping its not true!! PBQueen 09-06-2005, 04:46 PM Well....in all honesty it does sound kinda cool....but only if they were to do that after, like, 6 seasons! What will I have to obsess over if they cancell it?? JAZZYJ 09-06-2005, 06:01 PM I agree that a LOST movie would be awesome, but like everyone else said, only after many many seasons on TV. thenumbersarebad 09-06-2005, 07:38 PM http://www.insomniacmania.com/news_default.php?id=2698 Another place this rumor is stated. (though the site may be insane as the name says) 4EvrLOST 09-06-2005, 09:44 PM Ya know... I originally saw the Pilot projected onto a big screen and just yesterday when I went to a bargain theater they showed a commercial for the 2nd season on the big screen. The show looks like it belongs up there. I think it would be cool! However I wouldn't like to see it for a couple years more, that's true. Maybe after 100 episodes, the show deserves a run at LEAST that long. xanadu 09-09-2005, 11:27 AM Knowing what I know, I believe that they should end the series after the second season in the summer of 06. This is a great show and all, but if it goes 4-5 seasons it's going to start feeling like Gilligan's Island. There's only so much that you can do. It can be fresh for only so long. So far season 2 appears to revolve around the hatch. Every other sub-plot will be fill in story. In season 1 we learned about the character's back stories. This season we'll learn more but we already know pretty much everything. Of course there will be new people but you can't have new people every season. If they're going to use the idea they currently have on how to end the series, it's gotta happen fairly soon because if you drag it out too long people it's going to leave people frustrated in the end. JAZZYJ 09-09-2005, 01:44 PM I agree that draggin the show on and on for many seasons may make it lose it's OMG appeal but I just don't want the ride to end. How many seasons is too many? I think it could go at least 3 seasons without losing any of its zing. A movie to close it all up would be great, I would be first in line for tickets, but then after the movie there would be no more LOST and I would be sad...for days. PBQueen 09-09-2005, 04:35 PM sad for weeks! months! maybe not years, but i'll always feel a sting after losing lost...i'm just that obsessed! chellekay 09-09-2005, 09:39 PM I heard the whole movies thing is a made up story. I would like this to keep going for another two season . . . I love this show technophobe 09-10-2005, 10:52 PM I agree that draggin the show on and on for many seasons may make it lose it's OMG appeal but I just don't want the ride to end. A movie to close it all up would be great, I would be first in line for tickets, but then after the movie there would be no more LOST and I would be sad...for days. I completely agree with you. Unless some radical shift in the story happens in the future, allowing more characters, or a different setting, I can definately see how viewers would become frustrated with the same stories, in the same place, with the same people. The first season was so groundbreaking, and it'll be difficult for the writers to keep things fresh after they've solved all the mysteries of the island. |
