I have mentioned this before, but ya'll seemed to have ignored it completely.

On the radar, The dot starts blinking, its on the side of where they actually are. Then all of a sudden the "others" are right in front of them. Is that possible? So apparantly there might be someone else out there that could rescue them. Since the others arn't exactly humans they might not have been able to show up on the radar. What do you think?

The Others are human; and that doesn't matter anyway, because it's the mass-- anything solid and big enough-- that shows on radar. If I remember right, Sayid told the guys that the radar would pick up anything in a 5-mile radius. The others' boat was at the edge of the circle; they started toward the raft when they saw the flare. Does anyone know how long it takes to go about 5 miles in the ocean in a fishing trawler? It seemed to me they got to the raft in an awfully short amount of time, too.

I don't recall reading about this. The blip was on the left of the radar, and the others came from the right. I hope you got something here. Your pretty smart for 11.

Well since they came up making little or no noise as in their engine(s) were not at full throttle, and by the sounds of it mabey even just above idle. A old fishing boat like that would have been making noise since it looked like a wood hulled boat it would not muffle the engine sound. My estimate was that it took them about 45 seconds to cover 5 miles in complete silence, imposible. Even if they were in a speed boat it would take them about 2 minutes to cover that distance, making ALOT of noise. Plus radar has a dead range, depending on the strength of the unit and height it is placed at, any where from 50 yards to 150 yards out in all directions. Since they saw a dot on the edge of there reception might have been in fact a boat, a real one. But they would have never seen the boat on the radar that took Walt. Plus I can not remeber but did the beeping stop when the other boat showed up or did it continue?

Oh yea this would suppet the idea that the underground layer has access to the water via an underwater passage.

I think there's something fishy (ha ha) with that boat. If you look at the part where the boat is first coming, you can't see the boat at all. All you see is the water moving. Anybody else see that?

I think it was just the writers speeding things up for us. I wouldn't want them to waste 20 minutes showing the guys on the raft twidling their thumbs while waiting on the boat to arrive.

Anyone thinking it might have been the "supply" boat for the hatch. Maybe the blip on the radar was in fact the sub that comes and goes to supply our hatch.
