I've got a new Charlie fic in my LJ!

I felt the urge to write a Charlie/Sun story expanding on the confession scene in 'Expose'. I really enjoyed writing for Sun. She has long been a favourite character of mine. In certain ways I think she is the character most similar to Charlie.

I just read your fic, C_F, and loved it. I had never really thought about the similarities between Charlie and Sun before, and now it seems so obvious. I mean, I definitely know where you are coming from about those two.

P.S. My Charlie shirt shipped today. Woot. I can't wait till I get it. :biggrin:

Sun and Charlie being alike? I know it isn't an obvious comparision seeing as she is a rich Korean wife and he is a poor English rocker. But I think they are actually very similar characters when you pick them apart and look at their issues.

- Sun/Charlie both have a habit of lying (especially to Jin/Claire)
- Sun/Charlie have both attacked another Lostee in secret. They were both manipulated into their crimes by con-artists (Kate/Sawyer).
- Sun/Charlie have both killed Others (Cole/Ethan) by shooting them point-blank. Both became first time killers on the island (as far as we know from their backstories).
- Sun/Charlie both share a love for Aaron.
- Sun/Charlie both take a very servile submissive role in their relationships with Jin/Claire. Wow i never really thought of that. Very cool. Now after reading this-they are a lot alike! I think the first and last ones are really good ones especially. They both need more trust in their relationships. Jin is trusting Sun so much more-and i love that aspect of their story and their relationship. And after Par Avion-hopefully claire will be trusting our beloved person, and we wont have any more issues (nnot likely the way their relationship always goes though!)

Did you angels see the snippet of the Kristin cast interviews? I think Dom got cuter. I'm not sure how that is even possible, but I think he has. I can't wait for the full interview!

omgeeeeee. Wanna comment on last episode for charlie. I was watching and when charlie got hit in the beggining, i really thought it was a vision, but they didnt get off of it for a while so i literally started sobbing and my parents wer comforting me like ITS OK! and im like THERE IS NO WAY THIS IS OK!!!! and it waas seriously painful and when it was over i was so happy. haha. and when desmond almost didnt save him, i was SO MAD and screamiing and my parents wer like shut up carrie its not that important...HELLO! OF COURSE ITS IMPORTANT!

so that was my focus of the episode besides the Jater-y elements of the show (that i wont discuss here :) )

But I find that I don't even need to stick up for Charlie against this stuff, because plenty of neutral fans will stick up for him! It is a real relief...

You must be looking at the same threads as me because I noticed that too. Someone started a thread bashing Charlie for Desmond's absurd "you killed more of them than they have of you" line, and all these posters came to Charlie's defense saying his come back of "they started it" was spot on. It gave me the warm fuzzies.

I have definitely noticed that Charlie love is back in style. People are sticking up for him again, saying he's cute with Claire, that his decisions are the right ones, etc. It's wonderful. Which is why he can't die, not now that people finally are behind him. Personally, this is my favourite Charlie yet. He's more confident, more assertive, he can be tough but still maintain the humour and the sweetness when required. It's the perfect balance.

I noticed that too when I finished watching the episode. I would love to see a scene where the two of them talk about how their supposedly going to die. It would certainly put the whole "kidnapping" thing behind them.

If Charlie's whole gonna die storyline has done anything, it has definitely reignited the popularity of Charlie. I'm glad to see that. I've also noticed a decline in bashing posts.

I have so much junk to do tonight and I've previously found that Dom has a tendency to let things slip about what's going to happen. Don't want to risk being spoiled now after I've already avoided the huge temptations of the preview and fan fictions. I might just wait until Wed night and get it off the internet somewhere. I'm sure someone will have it up.

Wow Tiger, you are spoiler proof aren't you? I wouldn't worry about Dom though, even when he lets things slip, he usually lies. I'll never forget him telling Ellen last year that Charlie was going back on the smack. Disappointed me no end when it didn't happen.

Yeah, it's pretty hard core. A little absurd really. I think I've mentioned the time I hurt my arm and almost broke the TV trying to avoid a preview. Luckily the TV got wedged between the wall and the stand and didn't actually fall. *shrugs* It wouldn't have been that much of a loss, I bought it for $10 at a garage sale. ;)

I ended up watching the interview. I couldn't stop laughing about how much of a dork Dom is with all his talk about nail polish and ants. But that's why we love him. :) One thing in relation to the show that I thought was interesting: (I'll spoiler font just in case, but it's not really a spoiler)
He said Des could see the future and then corrected it to 'a future'. That's something I've been speculating about for a while and especially since Catch 22. Do we actually know these things would happen? Catch 22 was the only time it actually came close and Des made that happen when he gathered everyone up and said, let's go camping. I wonder if there was any significance to that change in wording.

Once he said, "in an upcoming episode" I stopped listening until I noticed they were talking about the end date. Good interview though, Dom was very upbeat, it seemed. Maybe that's a good sign... :undecide:

Oh i love it too but it is still too hard for me to think about. I havent been here in a week because i have seriously been in deep mourning, and it has been difficult. I really actually cant imagine what lost will be like. Sure it will always be the best show ever and continue to have great characters, plot twists, and suspence. But no Charlie.

oh my lord (and im not at all religious)...me too. I couldnt even watch/concentrate after that scene because my eyes were so blury. I seriously havent sobbed so hard since my grandpa died 7 years ago. Wow. I have a pic of charlie in my locket now. And last thursday i had FATE written in sharpie on tape wrapped around my fingers :) .

Some advice for all of us who will miss Charlie:


I've really liked this guy and it's a bummer that I'll probably never see him again...Well, actually, I should be happy because he's gonna be happy. He's gonna wake up in the morning, and be free. He'll have the opportunity to do whatever he wants and call his own shots. He will be completely free of any shackles, and that's a joyous thing.

Question for all of you. My sister and I were at Barnes and Noble today and she said that she read an interview with Dom where he was talking about his favorite book. She said she thought it sounded really interesting and wanted to check it out, but she couldn't remember the title. I was wondering if anyone knew what that might be or where we could come across this interview again. :)

I did look at that site, and all I really saw were logos that you can print and make your own t-shirts or bags. No actual posters. Thank you though for replying. :)

Thank you so much for your kind words, TRoss. It really does suck. I got Lost Season 3 on DVD for Christmas today (...I didn't want to spend my money on it), but I don't know if I'll be able to watch that episode. That and the finale. :frown:

I just got season 3 and I've been rewatching it from the beginning to see if I can get a fresh perspective on it but I just can't. The flaws are only more glaring. Before Charlie got his "you're gonna die" story, he really had nothing to do -- sat around the beach with all the women and extras. That's downright humiliating for a first rate actor like Dominic. If the only way he could get a decent storyline on that show was to die, than it sucks but he's better off. Charlie isn't of course but Dom is. As for Charlie, I can only say that for two seasons the writers had first rate mythology laced storylines staring at them in the face for him, but each time they ignored them (the visions, the whispers, the Others, the vaccine). That's their fault. Now all we have is fanfiction and what should have been.

So anyone have any thoughts on when/if we'll see Charlie again? I'm thinking the mystery surrounding being "dead but also here" won't be explained until at least season five. If this season is the rescue of the O6, then I'm guessing season five is the O6's return to the island and season 6 is the rescue of all of the Losties once and for all. That might set up a return for Charlie somewhere along the line.

I'm thinking they are going to let his mystery hang for this season and revisit it later. If he really is out there somewhere, maybe it will be part of a twist in this season's finale and he'll appear again, just tantalizing enough to keep us coming back for season five. With any luck, Charlie might even become a regular again returning with the O6 to the island if it turns out he is real after all.

I still think TPTB owe us a C/C reunion.

I couldnt argree more! If we get through all 48(?) epi.'s and dont get a reunion of Charlie and Clair, something to follow through on Roses comment, then I will feel incredably cheated.

I think I can agree on you S5 therory. My theory is that no one is leaving the Island this season anyway. They will leave in the season finalie and then we'll see the O6 in the real world in S5. It would be so awesome it Charlie was there to greet them. *sigh*

Seeing Charlie in Happily Ever After, really made me miss him. I enjoyed him in the alt timeline.

I quite like the really short hair on Charlie, even though its Dom's Flashforward hair.
