Espisode 2.2 = Adrift

Part 1:
The guys from the raft are swimming around & shouting for Walt. (Love to see them back.)

Sawyer has to haul Mike up from almost drowning up to a piece of raft and starts hitting him because he’s not responding.

Cut to the hatch –

Locke shouting for Kate from the top of the hatch. He then ventures down.

Part 2:

On the raft – Sawyer continues hitting Michael to try to get him breathing. He finally does breathe and keeps calling for Walt.

Cut to flashback –
Michael is meeting with a lawyer concerning his ex-girlfriend’s trying to make him give up legal paternity. He would no longer have any legal authority over Walt. The lawyer tells him it will cost a lot of money and asks if he still wants to do it. He responds, “They’re not taking my son away.”

Back on the raft –

Sawyer insists that Walt can’t hear Michael scream for him. He insists he has to keep screaming.

Cut to the hatch -

Locke drops down into a puddle & whispers for Kate. Takes off his shoes. ? Sees the equipment, looks around - sees a logo on a panel. Hears moaning. Finds Kate on the floor. Desmond sneaks up behind him and points a rifle at him asking, “Are you him?”

On the raft –

Now Sawyer is shouting for Jin. Michael tells him he thought they had to save their energy, but Sawyer keeps shouting. Michael blames him for shooting the flare and them kidnapping Walt. He tells him to “get off my raft.” Suddenly something huge disturbs the raft from below the water.

Michael seems like such a A$$hole

And as we can see, he light behind the blinds....is exactly that......a light

Somebody please tell this ol' European quickly: What's the news on Sawyer and the sholder/arm? Where was he hit, just a scratch, bullet went right through or is it still stuck? Which one is it?

Part 3:

Michael and Sawyer discuss whether or not the gun will work. It’s only a shark. Michael blames its presence on Sawyer’s shoulder wound. Sawyer asks for a thank-you. Michael – “For what – trying to save your own ***?” Sawyer swims for another part of the raft with great effort. Says, “I was trying to save your damn kid.”

Flashback to court scene / perhaps discovery –

Lawyer asking why it has been so long since Walt has seen his son. Lawyer asks if Michael knows what Walt’s first words were, what his favorite foods are. Makes her point about not knowing much about his son. Michael says, “I’m his father.”

Back to raft –

Sawyer trying to work with his wound. Michael says he’s crazy trying to take his bullet out himself. Sawyer screams with the pain but takes out the bullet. (Pretty gross.) Asks Michael, “You got a band-aid?”

In the hatch –

“Are you – him?”
Locke answers yes, yes I am.
Desmond says he can’t believe he’s finally here.
Locke - Here I am.
Desmond asks about Kate. Locke says she’s with him.
Desmond realizes Locke is not “him” and tells him to get rid of the knife. Kate explains they were in a plane crash 44 days ago.
Locke says it’s pointless to tie him up and explains his job. Tells Desmond to tie up Kate because she’s a fugitive. Kate asks what he’s doing. Locke puts her in a closet.

NO! not BECAUSE of his flashback...because of how he's acting on the raft....lol...I'm just saying that usually people are sympathetic characters on the island...when the epiosde is focused on them.

Part 4:

At the campfire:

Repeat of previous ep - Hurley asking Jack why he’s going to the hatch when he said he was waiting ‘til morning.

Charlie and Claire (awww!) making comments - Jack doing something heroic. Clair notices Charlie has a religious statue. He just says it’s nothing.

On the rafts –

Sawyer is talking about the boat that the Others had – how it wasn’t an ocean boat. That they wanted “the kid” Michael. Michael gets very angry and splashes hard enough that Sawyer’s raft part goes to pieces. He has to swim over to Michael’s part and haul himself onto it. Michael tells him to shut up because he has no idea what it feels like to care about somebody else.

Flashback in the judge’s chambers –

Mike’s girlfriend wanted to meet with him. Thinks he’s going to win and keep her from leaving the country with him. She doesn’t understand why he’s doing this. She has a chance at a senior partner at her company in Rome. She discusses his financial situation and getting on his feet. He can’t be a part of Walt’s life unless he’s on his feet. He says Walt’s his responsibility too. She urges him to let Walt go. Because all of this is about Walt. She doesn’t want to go to court. Urges him to let him go.

Cut to Kate in the closet trying to get free - rolling around on floor. Gets her arms out from behind her. Takes knife out of belt and cuts bonds. Switches on light and sees the storehouse of food. Sees ventilation in the ceiling of the storage closet. Opens up a candy bar and enjoys the chocolate. Grabs a bunch. Steps on a crate to reach the ceiling and crawls through.

Cut to Locke explaining their situation to Desmond. Locke explains how they crashed and that many survived. Locke asks about his name and they introduce themselves. John tells him the gun is unnecessary. Desmond asks about how many are in their group. Desmond asks how many have gotten sick. John says no one.

The computer starts bleeping and Kate hears it too as she travels through the vents. Desmond asks John to type in commands in the computer while he keeps the rifle on him. He dictates a series of numbers and tells him to press execute. John asks what’s going to happen. He presses it. Nothing appears to happen. Then they hear Jack calling for them. John, “That would be Jack.”

It's on a 108 minute counter? He has to do that every 108 minutes? When does Desmond sleep if he has to do that all the time. Looks like Desmond thinks the world has been destroyed too. Very strange. Wonder what happens if he doesnt type in the numbers...

Timer started at 3:00 minutes, reset to 108 minutes (less than 2 hours each time. doesn't leave for much sleep) - (can't remember the name) theory confirmed.

John recognised the artificial light is to appear like sunlight. Another theory confirmed.

So there is sometype of countdown sequence that, at a certain amount of time, sounds an alarm. By typing in the numbers the countdown is re-set to 108.000 and it starts again.

Any speculation as to what it's counting down too?

so that snowman thing sounds a lot like the bad joke in one of mike's cards to walt while he was in recovery... think he could be the him? i mean, aside from that clone theory, desmond would know jack, not be like "are you him??"

What number was on the display before it turned to 108? 212?

108! That was the number all over the painting!

It looks like typing the numbers (maybe a password) and hitting EXECUTE will reset the counter to 108. Last week Walt said "Don't press the button". Maybe if you don't hit EXECUTE and the counter doesn't reset something good will happen. I think Desmond is afraid to let the counter go to 0.

Part 5:

Desmond hurries John over to look through a scope. Says “Your doctor has a gun, brother.” Sets the music playing. Kate hears it in the vent. Tries to call for Jack. Kate watches through a vent as the scene replays from the end of the last episode - Jack asking Locke about his destiny, seeing Desmond, recognizing him.

Raft – (or what’s left of it)

Sawyer sees something big floating in the water. Michael says it’s one of the pontoons. Sawyer tries to get over to it and Michael tells him to stop because he’s causing the raft parts they have to break up. Sawyer insists on trying for the pontoon, but we something menacing coming through the water from the bottom. Michael shoots frantically several times at the shark just as Sawyer gets there. Sawyer disappears. Michael screams for him and paddles over. Sawyer comes up alive and the scramble onto the pontoon part.

Part 6:

Michael outside sitting on a park bench with a cane. Gets up when ex comes over with very small Walt. She explains she was packing to leave on the plane in the morning. Walt looks like he doesn’t know who Michael is. Michael bends down to tell Walt that he won’t see him for a while and that he’s going to have a great life. Wants him to know that (chokes up) no matter where he goes his daddy loves him very much and always will. (So sad.) Michael and ex changes good-byes. Michael biting lip to keep it together as he watches them walk away.

On raft / pontoon, dawn is breaking –

Michael sobbing. Sawyer asks him if he is all right. Michael says it’s his fault – should’ve never brought him on the raft. He declares he will get him back. “I’m going to get back my son.”

Sawyer looks up and sees the island. Says current brought them home. They make it to the island beach. They hear shouting. Jin? Jin comes out of the woods and has his hands tied behind his back. Finally they make out the word, “The others.” And the Others start coming out to the beach.

End of the fastest hour on TV - Didn’t catch the preview.

The theory about the timer... it was in the forum for last week's episode. I don't recall the name, but it was regarding an outer limits episode where this government experiment resulted in people being stationed underground. Every so often they had to enter a code to reset the timer, or else the computer would assume everyone was dead and blow the whole place to prevent the sickness from spreading.

Jeez ... one more week before we don't get any answers again. Or at least just bits and pieces. I LOVE this show.

The preview for next week introduces the new character played by Michelle Rodriguez as she joins Michael and Sawyer in a pit/cage where they're being held by the others.

Hurley's in the hatch area apparently since it shows him walking into what appears to be the food storage area.

I'm not sure about the whole thing, But there was a scene with Sawyer Michael and Jin being put in a hole, where they find Ana-Luica from the back of the plane. Then there's a scene between Locke and Jack where Locke says, "Why is it so hard for you to believe?" and Jack responds, "Why is it so EASY for you?!" There's some more random scenes, and the last one being Locke sitting in the room with the computers by himself shouting, "I don't know what I'm supposed to do!!!"

I liked this episode better than 2.1. More fun! And I just enjoy the Sawyer banter. And I wanted to know that our boys on the raft were all OK. Looking forward to next week and seeing what's up with the Others and Michelle Rodriguez.

Hmm - thanks for the info. Most of the other stuff seems to be about 20 years old. Where could you get Apollo bars about 20 years ago? I've never seen that brand in my area of the U.S. And doesn't chocolate go bad after awhile? I don't think you can eat it if it's very old.
