SNOWMEN. It was a very common code name back then. I have thought Desmond was a spy as soon as I saw him with the telescope, which is also known as a "spyglass".

Snowman was a code word for a specific famous spy.
Also makes me think of the novel "The Spy that Came in Out of the Cold".

Last season on Alias "You All Everybody" was played on a jukebox, or at a party.

I think it doesn't really matter what the "real" reply is because if it's a code question, chances are that the reply will not be the same as the joke. If the joke is well known, then that would up the chances of the wrong person being able to answer it.
