I mean an American winning the California lottery is not exactly international let alone news pertinent for Korean citizens. However, what if the numbers played by Hurley have special meaning in Korea. There has been some threads that have discussed the Dharma symbol in the hatch being tied to both the numbers and the Korean flag. it seems possible that the numbers if connected to a symvol of Korean nationalism have some type of special meaning in Korea, thus, causing the Korean media to pay atnetion to someone using the numbers to win the lottery.
