w00t! That means another group has been doing engineering to animals.

Maybe it's just a variation of the symbol. It dosn't exactly look the same, but it is the same general shape. I think if it had been another group, it would have been a totally different logo.

Looks the same to me, just no DHARMA... Plus its not the clearest shot either.

on the pic. of the symbol on the sharks tail i dont see the shape of the snake, cause when i saw the pic. it look like a white line not a zig-zag line which was the snake.

It isn't the clearest shot, but I think it's still obvious that the white swan is not there either...

It's just a horizontal line, instead of the swan/snake/loch ness monster.

Also, to my untrained eye, even though my copy of photoshop is getting a workout, the lines around the edge are in a different configuration.

We need the HD screen capture of this paticular frame on this thread... I would do it, but my episode is at home right now.

I saw a few others out there, but they were of a different frame so it still wasnt very clear...

Also, I made a large version of the DHARMA logo (without the text), so you dont have to squint your eyes when counting dashes on this thing:

That's my guess. I think it's supposed to be the same symbol, but it flashes by so fast that the level of detail didn't matter enough to the CG guys.

I mean, you guys *did * see the polar bears, right?

if i can interpret the positioning right, there is a large blackish circle over the "green" section of the bagua on the shark.


information i found for this is "The family gua is all about your ancestry, your lineage, your relationships with family members, and really, the very foundation from which you grew." interesting... if you consider the topic of evolution. sharks havn't evolved much since dinosaur days either... not sure what it all means, just throwing it out for consumption.

Almost seems like the dharma symbol with a fish as opposed to Desmond's version that has either a snake.

Could be different factions or departments within dharma, kind of like different clearance levels

I knew I wasn't seeing things. Thank You! My husband and I were watching last night. When this scene came on I shouted "Did you see that?". Of course he didn't. He thinks I'm just crazy and a huge conspiracy theorist. Ha ha. He's obviously not as into it as I am. This proves I wasn't imagining things. Excuse me while I go tell him I TOLD YOU SO.

Haha, Snabby, that's what i yelled! haha... Did you see that!?! even tho i was the only one in the room *sheepish grin* lol. After the eppy was over... i watched the tape and and tried to pause it at the right spot over and over again and my dad, sister, and her boyfriend were all laughing at me lol... then he pointed out i could just use the "slow" button to go frame by frame... i felt stupid :P I was just excited to see if it was "the symble." Obviously, it's not the same one... but it's supposed to draw the same kind of conclusion that this shark was put there by somebody or something. In the end everyone will look back and be like... "oh yeah, i get it." haha.

I completely missed the Shark being branded!! I can't believe that! I caught the Adam Rutherford the first time I heard it, but missed the Shark Brand!

Sier - Thanks for the HD cap. The "darker blob" I thought was on part of the symbol doesn't mean anything... since I don't think it's there. I had originally thought perhaps a part of the symbol - or bagua as someone else pointed it out as - was marked darker over one part and perhaps it meant something. Or... perhaps it was a non-hd tivo capture of a fast moving "shark" under water in poor light. There's always that. Ha. :biggrin:
