Locke is an awesome character, who seems to help people with their problems. When Terry reads the lines, he isnt just reading them either, nor is he trying to hard to emphasize them and put too much unneccesay emotion. He reads them and puts a unique accent on them, it's cool. One thing I love about lost is the diversity between two heros (Jack and Locke). This was brought out in "The Moth", when Locke helped Charlie with his addict problem with faith, making Charlie confront his problem on his own, while Jack helped him with science, giving Charlie an asperin. The way Locke helps people makes him a role model, but what's even better is that he's a role model who has secrets. Not bad secrets but secrets that keep viewers intrigued in the show.

Very nicely said, Soon_to_be. I think Locke has inspired more than one person. Just as Terry himself has done.

Definitly, I find myself giving Locke advice all the time. Especially the moth in the cacun line, that one's classic.

if everyone in the world were a little more like Locke, I think the world would be a much better place. Terry gives him such life... we forget that he is a character and trust and believe everything he says. Excellent writing and excellent acting make him one of the best characters ever on television.

Jazzy, I though you were saying you give advice to Locke all the time! :24: I love the line in "The Moth!"

"Struggle is nature's way of strengthening." :D

So, who is Robert Paulsen?

Now that I read it over again it does sound that way. I like giving "Locke Advice" to others.

And Robert Paulsen is the actor Meat Loaf, he played Robert "Bob" Paulsen in Fight Club.

In my opinion, the wisdom that Locke has is incredible. It just seems like he knows exactly what to say, at exactly the right time.

this is so true! I especially love any scene between Jack and John--but especially
the really intense stuff (e.g. the whole "push the button" exchange).

My fave moment last night was when John smiled with Charlie. I love how when
Charlie was ranting about all the secrets, John simply asked, "what doyou want
to know, Charlie?"

that scene, in a nutshell, is why I love John Locke.
