View Full Version : Anagram!
Lost_In_Louisiana 10-05-2005, 11:53 PM Hmmmm.........
If you rearrange the letters in HANSO (foundation) you get NOAH'S (foundation). Does this imply that the foundation is collecting a diverse group of people to restart society because the end of the world is near? Is the foundation causing the end or merely preparing for it? :nuke: :nuke: :nuke:
I thought the word HANSO was a strange name and when the letters could form NOAH'S then I figured it might be a clue as to what the foundation is all about.
What do y'all think????
:undecide:
pengbear 10-05-2005, 11:57 PM Totally Feasible. I would have never thought of that. Nice catch, LiLA.
So were Adam and Eve the founding members of this new society?
pisceschick 10-06-2005, 12:01 AM Ooooh! Good catch! Maybe not just people, but animals, too?
And ALVAR...ALVAR is an anagram for...LAVAR...which means "To wash" , in spanish...
Alvar Hanso
Lavar Noah's...
Wash Noah's...
Purificaiton of human race....
eek
Dr.Funbags 10-06-2005, 12:06 AM 40 days
Newbie4Life 10-06-2005, 12:13 AM No, Adam and Eve were the professors. When they died, no one knew what to do and everything collapsed.
pengbear 10-06-2005, 12:13 AM and there is a big boat already on the island :)
darkpiranha 10-06-2005, 12:16 AM Alvar also spells LARVA
Lost_In_Louisiana 10-06-2005, 12:29 AM No, Adam and Eve were the professors. When they died, no one knew what to do and everything collapsed.
Oooh, that's a good theory.
I know Jack said by the look of their clothes they had been dead 50 years but stuff like that deteriorates very quickly in tropical climates. Maybe it just looked that old, because they were teaching in the late 60's early 70's (judging by the clothing styles).
So, if the timer runs down, does that either nuke the rest of the world or release some kind of plague that will do them all in and the only survivors will be the ones they brought to the island?
It's been a common thought that Australia and surrounding islands would be the only safe places if nuclear war broke out. So is the island safe from radiation? Is radiation sickness the thing that is making people ill?
Lost_In_Louisiana 10-06-2005, 12:41 AM With this group using "Namaste" in its orientation video, it doesn't seem likely that they are trying to bring about the end of the world, but merely preparing for it.
Noah's Island
BOONEdoggle 10-06-2005, 12:45 AM I turned Alvar Hanso into:
Naval Shoar
But I guess it could be Noah's Larva too.
This is my first post. Just checking things out...
BOONEdoggle 10-06-2005, 12:47 AM Or Naval Ashor(e)???
Lost_In_Louisiana 10-06-2005, 12:53 AM So you think it has a military connection?
I was basing the anagram on a type of spiritual connection - but I'm not sure. :undecide:
Lost_In_Louisiana 10-06-2005, 01:09 AM Also, I'm not so sure about the Larva thing - ick.... :)
Or do you equate larva with sorta like babies, beginnings, Genesis type of thing?
:yinyang:
sickotriz 10-06-2005, 01:17 AM add the first two letters of LOST (LO) to the end of Hanso and you get...
Hansolo... Han Solo!
Sorry, I couldn't resist:cheese:
Gobi-1 10-06-2005, 01:18 AM Here I was thinking Hanso was short for Han Solo.
EDIT: LOL sickotriz, great minds think alike.
bucki4life2003 10-06-2005, 01:19 AM i am so bad with anagrams but i like the new beginnings idea....purifing the new race??and that financial backer was shady as could be...
everybodyhateshugo 10-06-2005, 01:21 AM Great find on the Noah's and the Spanish word for wash. *applause*
Interesting find. Wouldnt be the first biblical reference in the show, not to mention Claire naming her baby Aaron...without any knowledge why she would do so.
Maybe some people out there are gunning for an apocolypse. Maybe the original scientists from the study sent there.
Desmond may have been the only one holding it back.
My theory: The Hanso foundation may have been looking for ways to sustain life in certain circumstances, even under apocolyptic conditions. The people at that lab site had a change of heart, maybe wanted to recreate a new world..a form of utopia. Maybe they are trying to bring about an end to the rest of civilization. The only thing stopping it from taking place is the computer and entering the numbers.
During this time the Others are trying to build their perfect community, and they need Walt for whatever reason. And they look at anyone else as intruders.
Yep my crackpot theory...or maybe not so much?

Yes, and Aaron & Noah are major figures in the Old Testament part of the Bible too. We going to meet a Moses next? (I almost freaked myself out a little just now because I thought DESMOND had Moses within it - but it's missing an "s") :tongue1:
Lost_In_Louisiana 10-06-2005, 01:51 AM :excl:
Aha! DESMOND works out to say "SEND DOM"
Yay! Dominic Monaghan will save us all!!!

Last year in one of my Psychology classes we had this little exercise. We got into groups of about 6-8 people and were given an assignment. Our assignment was to figure out who would carry on with the human race and start a new society after a world wide destruction. There was a list of roughly 20-30 generalized people and their professions, sex and race and we had to pick something like 12 to carry on society. For example "A lesbian doctor", "A homosexual football star", "A black military leader", "A disabled communications officer", "A sorority girl who specializes in fashion", "A prostitute", "A drug dealer from an upper class family", "A politician", etc.
I think the purpose of the assignment (because it was never told to us) was to see if we would choose people on behalf of their skill or their race, sexual orientations, class, etc. But it was also a task to see if there is a way to make a perfect human race, which obviously there is not, but generally you should try to take people from "all walks of life" who can contribute something to the group because you don't want people who are repetitive because they will not be helpful in the long run. The people on the island are all from different walks of life and all have different beliefs, professions, values and skills which help them all survive collectively, so maybe that is one purpose of the Dharma Institutions research.

I'd take Kate to start my new civilization with. Huzzah!

LOL, The Old Testament _is_ the bible. (Not to nitpik on my first post!)
Hi all! Glad to be here!

Sorry, Ellen, I guess I acted like an arrogant Christian, eh? Ok, how about this - they are figures in the Old Testament, period? Figures in the Torah? Figures in Jewish history???
:)
conspiricytheory 10-06-2005, 10:28 AM Sometimes I think we read into things way to far with this show. Noahs Lavar. Purification of the human race. Wow... Maybe I'm just mad I didn't think of it first.
Lost_In_Louisiana 10-06-2005, 07:34 PM LOL
I don't know about the lavar or larva thing, but I just found it odd that HANSO (foundation)anagrammed into NOAH'S (foundation), especially with the diverse group of people on the island.
lostinspace 10-06-2005, 07:47 PM alvar hanso namaste dharma
noah's man eats larva, mad rah
So, obviously the men that noah's ark saved ate larva which is completely against egyptian spirituality. Rah is now angry and is going to cause another great flood.
lostinspace 10-06-2005, 07:55 PM ooohhh
anagram
a rag man
The bearded guy in the boat!
homsar 10-06-2005, 08:01 PM I think there may be a Native American connection, as Alvar Hanso also translates to:
NAVAHO LARS
You can see them all and try new ones at:

LOL

noah's larva eats man
homsar 10-06-2005, 08:47 PM Plus, there HAS to be an anagram for Marvin Candle. Maybe he punished Calvin:
CALVIN REMAND
bport132 10-06-2005, 09:05 PM Or , Calvin Red Man. . . .As in red herring maybe? And if Dr. Calvin is a red herring, then the whole, "something went wrong" could be part of the experiment as well.
Noahs Foundation is good. I really like that. Since we've seen 2 polar bears, and there are the rumors of twins which would go along with Noah's 2's.
island hottie 10-06-2005, 10:10 PM I like the way it translated to Noah's. Not sure about the Lavar, though. I think that might be a stretch.
Noah had two of everything.
Two people had shared the hatch.
40 days in season one.
The Black Rock - the island's 'ark'?
EllenRonnie 10-07-2005, 02:47 AM Hi all,
I also came up with Noah's Larva and Googled it.
A link came up about Doctor Who, that mentions Noah and his being touched by some larva which transforms him into something. A hatch is also mentioned.
Here's the link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Ark_in_Space
Not being a Dr. Who fan, I have no idea if there's any relevance at all.
Just thought it was interesting, just the same.
Take care!

Not really an anagram, but..
Ana Lucia = AnaL

flowers_of_lye 10-08-2005, 11:52 AM Hey first post here please don't bite.
As for the Noah thing, in the orientation video they mentioned biology, and also 'the incident'
Could this explain the Polar bears? Possibly messing with genetic DNA, making a normally cold climate creature able to withstand the heat of a tropical climate. (or vise versa) Or the strange bird we saw during the season finale in last season. Could the incident be that they had many different creatures hidden away on the island along with the people (normally oblivious of said creatures) when some animals (like the polar bears) escaped. And could ‘the incident’ have something to do with the black smoke that tried to pull Lock into the burrowy thing?
Also could this utopia be an attempt to remake the Garden of Eden? Just some thoughts…
psyche g 10-08-2005, 11:55 PM During the film when the creepy asian doctor said namaste, at the time I heard it it sounded odd to me, almost like it was a persons name.
Then I did the anagram thing with it and came up with East Man.
Think about it, Ethan Rom = Other Man and Namaste = East Man. Too coincidental if you ask me.
Do you think I am on to something?
