View Full Version : Reminds Me of the Stanford Prison Experiment SwampFox 10-06-2005, 12:12 AM Anyone else? BurningStar4 10-06-2005, 04:33 AM More specifically I thought of Milgram's Experiment but yes, the Stanford experiment was a variation of Milgram's. It just goes to show how far someone will go to obey authority. At any time in Milgram's and Stanford's experiments the volunteers (participants) could have walked away and instead stayed and obeyed authority. Desmond (and whoever else are in the hatches) have a choice to stay and push the button or to leave, never really knowing what will happen if they do not stay, so it just goes to show how far someone will go to obey authority. foggynotion 10-06-2005, 04:45 AM Definitley has shades of the Zimbrado experiment. flora 10-06-2005, 12:53 PM I'm totally having a flashback to sometime this time last year when we discussed these experiments theorizing that the island & the scientists & the unexplained were somehow variations on group mentality, ect. Wow! Deja vu! |
