You know I haven't seen in mentioned yet so I'm going to throw it out there. Did anyone else notice that Locke said "are you mad, because he doesn't recognize you" how did locke know that they had met before? Did he say while he was down there I've met this guy before but he doesn't remember me? I don't think he did which makes it interesting. Let me know what you guys think

Desmond mentioned that he had seen Jack before. They were all together looking at the computer at the time so Locke heard it. Plus I think the line was "Are you mad because he recognized you?"

no it was are you mad because he recognizes you. Locke noticed how they were looking at each other and put two and two together and desided that they must have met before.

Was that before or after Desmond asked Jack, "Do I know you?"

Jack kept staring at him and he asked Jack that question. I know as Desmond left, Locke and Jack had a dialog about faith and mind games. He also said something about it takes more faith for the two of them to have met before.

Locke said "Are you mad cause he doesn't recognize you" And then Jack goes after desmond and find him running and then he recognizes him and says your the guy from the stadium

I'm going with "are you mad that he recognizes you" because in a sense Desmond did recognize Jack. He couldn't place from where or when but he had an idea that he knew him from somewhere. Locke thought that Jack was upset because Desmond didn't know from where.

Wouldn't Locke know that Jack recognized Desmond when he said "It's you!" ?

Yeah, that's what I figured.. when Jack says 'Youuu...'

In the first two episodes didn't, when Desmond stepped out from behind the wall while he had his gun to Locke's head, didn't Jack so "you" as if he recognized him? It appeared to me that Jack acted as if he did not recognize Desmond in this episode. Maybe I am just missing something..

You guys are missing the other obvious clue. When Jack pins Desmond down (after the "we're all gunna die" line and commercial), Jack says "OR What?! Tell me whats going to happen?" and spins Desmond up to face him. Desmond looks up at Jack and says "Do I know you?". Locke looks at Jack like "...huh?". Jack then pushes him face down to the floor and asks Kate "You got him?". She nods and they let Desmond look at the computer.

This all happens before Locke asks Jack the question.

Yeah, it's pretty straightforward as Sier says, John right there when Desmond says don't I know you, and from the look on Jack's face it's obvious something's going on in his head.

Looks like Locke doesn't know everything! He he.

Also remember when Desmond had a gun to Locke's head and Jack saw Desmond he says "......You"

Or - Locke could have been saying that in response to all of Jack's disbelief - like hey dude, you think all this isn't possible, but you're gonna tell me that there's a chance you ran into this guy before - you a spinal surgeon and him a solo world racer.. no way
