Todell,

Thank you for the mention of the patented, trademarked, copyrighted and delightfully tropical Mang Tang!

Your menu looks absolutely magnificient, and your invitation is incredibly well appreciated. I would be honored to sit amongst this great gathering of friends, and thankfully share this bounty with you.

However, I need to take one HUGE leftover bag of this wonderful culinary masterpiece home for Christmas Day, as we, the Mangs, are already celebrating the Feast of the 7 Fishes; this too was borne of tradition in Italy, brought over by both our families many years ago and continued today.

May you all enjoy this holiday season, and may you all be blessed. It is my honor to share words with such an esteemed group of people.

-Mang

P.S. Argh, I do be the Officer of the Galley, yet Todell's menu do sure put me Bilge Rat Soup to shame...

Argh Mateys!

Shivver your timbers, wake yer souls,
thar' be a mist appriaching in disguise;
As I steered Her rudder, I saw 't from afar,
A blackened wisp, thick'nin' in the skies.

I stared into it, and what mine eyes saw
was a storied life of malice;
a fearful vision I know 't'were,
of this uncrowned king in a darkened palace.

Each village I'd plundered and treasure I stole,
took another cherished breath,
a face for each whom I'd hated or wronged,
whether in life or in death.

All of the angry lasses
yelling endlessly at me;
having stolen their loving hearts,
and left them alone whilst I flee.

I saw the taverns that I'd burned,
and the bottles of rum I drank heartily;
my pirate reflection melted,
regret for my debauchery.

As the acrid smoke filled my nose,
for mine evils I begged forgiveness,
yet realization hit my simple mind,
LIVIN LOST ate too much chili in the mess.

HAR HAR HAR ….AAARGHHHHH

Tis evident Mr McMang knows the power of written word
That the pen do indeed be mightier than the sword
For with his finger did scribe provoking thought
Causing each to wonder what is truly sought

Now you’ve peered into the murky mind of Mang
While on your lips remains the stain of burning sweet Tang
Watched as he bared his soul through the mysterious fog
If I hadn’t seen it myself, would blame it on the grog

Hides himself away, deep in the bowels of the galley
Brewing his trouble with thoughts of Death Valley
With a stew of unknown ingredients and herbs of delight
Soon a new batch for his mates he’ll serve for the night

A smell wafts up from below that’s sure to entice
Teasing your belly to fill with a touch of Mang’s spice
Now the desire to consume is almost to much to take
As we wait with anticipation of the Chili to partake

Soon a fine taste pleases your palette and tingles your buds
Warming your whole body like a tub full of hot suds
So the pang of hunger has now begun to subside
And with a might full belly you feel satisfied

So now we are fat and happy, full of Mang’s Chili and rum
ALARM X3 !!, what’s this rumble putting pressure on my bum
If torching the French ship be the Cap’n’s desire
Just toss me on over, cause I’m fartin fire !!!

Well.....ahem......OK... I vote YEA.

A place with minds of like to wrestle
With the finest of rum to be found

Fellow mates deserving of respect
With the wit and banter you’d expect
From the crew of the famous Cap’n Tiberius
We seek to undo all that appears mysterious

So, keep your eyes open and your ears clean
Cause if you miss something the crew gets mean
They’ll cuss, spit, stomp their feet and put up a fight
Creating a most atrocious and frightening sight

But fear not my dear dragongrrl
Soon we’ll have ye polished like a shiny pearl

Argh Mateys,

Bravo to the Captains and Crew o' the USS TPTB fer a rich journey, as it do seem that their treasure map do be foisting an incredibly unique journey to become LOST. A job incredibly well done, do I think it be!

N'er did I think that creators could be so bold as to present so many el'ments o' science fiction, baffling mythos, protracted mystery and heavy religious allegory in a prime time drama that is not relegated to archetypal stigmata.

These hearty folk do well to "hide" these elements within a colorful tapestry of excellent storyline, plot elements, wonderful characters, lavish scenery and creativity. 'Tis a brilliant strategy to satisfy so many pirates and landlubbers, from the casual to the overly analytical, and satifying the network whilst still living their full vision.

Of course, a hearty shout out to Cap'n and crew of the Sea Raven, n'er a finer group of lasses and scallywags this side of the Marshall Islands!

3 Cheers for the finest ship and crew in any fleet!

Hip, hip...gulp...hooray!

Gulp, gulp, gulp...

Lend me your thoughts mates, or pump the bilge!

Well milady, in cases so complex as this, mayhap it be best that I show you personally what a corset do be. I can easily procure a vast selection of corsets for such occassions, with matching stockings to boot. A corset makes for perfect adornment under your favorite dancing dress on topdeck, or perhaps 'tis better suited for naval maneuvers below deck...

Mayhap Mrs. Mang do be gettin' a lovely corset and stockings to celebrate new LOST episodes during February TV sweeps and of course in celebration of the patron saint of lovers...

Avast!

Okay, y'all. I'm going to be totally serious for a moment. First off, I feel completely foolish saying this. Secondly, Myha's making me! (okay, so not totally serious :))

In the past few weeks something's been growing in me. It's finally hit fruition in the past couple of days and it's kind of disturbing, as well as far-fetched, strange and probably way wrong. Sometimes, especially lately as I peruse articles on life extension, transhumanism, space exploration, and the most recent finds in Mayan archaelogy (some for Lost theories, but mostly for my own edification and entertainment) I keep seeing a growth -- almost a societal, species-wide rush towards something. And that has led me to question our Tiberius threads and the "hints" or "clues" in those verses. Tibs, feel free to blast me or laugh at me. But, I have wondered if Lost isn't secondary to something far more profound that our dear poet is trying to get across. It's almost as we're being forged into the Witnesses for the rising of the new era. Whether it's true or not, the fact that it might be both humbles and frightens me. It also, if true, makes me want to work harder for the Good.

Okay, I said me peace....

A collective of thoughts and reasoning by a group’s concentration, directed by one’s profound dialogue.

Starting with the posts and the thoughts thereafter, the areas of study in a multitude of subjects with themes that appear to link them all in some way. Certainly makes one contemplate the direction of life, for self and humanity.

I feel the same things you describe. It seems that in our life time we have seen an ushering in of a Global Community. With the technology of transportation, communication, computation etc… The terrorist attacks of 911 and others are examples of events that have pushed that Globalization even closer. It seems that things are speeding up to get to some point of eventful purpose. It behooves me to define a starting, climactic and ending point. But I question if that is necessary or even possible.

I get a feeling that my eyes have been opened to things. An awareness, so to speak. A prodding from deep inside, to seek out a knowledge and understanding of the progression of humanity. Turning into a compulsion to look at anything and everything to determine if it plays a part in the overall scheme of humanity. Also, with a sense to strive for the Good.

Is this sanctuary the catalyst for the individuals gathered here? Or is it merely a small piece of the overall awareness or societal growth?

Should we look around to see if this kind of thing is taking place in other forms besides this one? Are there catalyst elsewhere that we have not been noticing?

How shall we handle this awareness as an individual, and as a group?

Is this something that a certain or select few are meant to deal with? Or is it meant for all of humanity to wake up to?

So many questions!

My sincere thanks to JR for breaking the silence on a subject that appears to affect us all. I appreciate the opportunity to express like feelings. And of course a round or applause for Tib who so graciously directs our awakening.

JR, you will never be alone! Especially with a bottle o’ rum in yer hand! CHEERS MATE!

Very nicely put, LIVINLOST. All I can say is, yes we are foolishly hurtling toward a One World Government (never thought I'd be one to use that term *lol*). Now, what will happen if and when that horrible day occurs is up to us.

Do we stand idly by and let it happen, as if a tsunami were flooding the world, and let the freedoms we hold so dear wash away with the tide; don't be fooled, they will flow away from us. Or, do we learn all we may to be better prepared for the fight against it? Mine eyes too have been opened, partly through the Quest, partly through my own personal research starting with that atrocity incorrectly called the American Civil War. So, what do we do? Well, if you don't mind I'll let one of the greatest men in history speak for me:

"Do your duty in all things. You cannot do more, you should never wish to do less" -- Robert E. Lee

All we can do, LIVINLOST and all here, is our duty in the firm belief that that duty is for the Good. Not "The Greater Good" because that has the potential of leading one down dark roads. But, for the Whole Good and with a whole, and wholesome, heart.

My heariest apologies for missin' the party. I was a-sailin' the ship whilst ye lilly-livered scoundrels be a-partyin', without tossin' so much as a morsel or drop of brew up t'your Sword Master top deck!

But that d' be fine, as I attempted t'bring a personal birthday greeting t'me hearty Cin, and she was, how shall we say, too busy to chat wit' me! I hope ye found some fresh water, a salty breakfast and a dry towel, caus' that rum and hot tub combination can lilly your liver!

Sailin' the ship me arse, Mang. Ye be getting tangled 'n trapped in the corsets all day.

Thar be no denyin' the charge, it be true. Would ye expect any less from the not-so-Lilly-Livered Swordmaster?

I delegated the sailsmastering to Charlotte the Willful (Sara-SNWG) , our newest and rustiest yet most willful scupper. She did prove hearty in steerin' Her straight and toward the stars; a fine job indeed!

In th' meantime, I was perfectin' me corset unclasp skill, and it do appear that I've been caught with the booty again; thar be indeed be some truly fine treasures to behold...

Such a lovely name do be Charlotte, hearkens me back to St. Thomas, n'er a finer port to pillage and plunder, of rum and thunder, gold and glitter, it do make me jitter! But dost our newest scallywag Charlotte the Willful be related to an original member of the Sea Raven crew, Charlotte the Temptress?

The world may never know...

"The Pirate's Life"

For the love of gold and rum
They ply the seas most fearsome.
For loot do they yearn
To rape and to burn
In raids so adventuresome.

'Tis the Pirate's Life, they cry!
'Tis the Pirate's Life for me!

Old Black Beard dove
Into village and cove
Like a ravenous dragon.
All along the coast they quailed
Frightened of his fury.

'Tis the Pirate's Life, he cries!
Tis the Pirate's Life for me!

But 'ware ye pirates --
Sharks on the sea.
'Ware the Pirate's Life,
In the end full of naught but strife.
Sunk 'neath the waves
Or hanged by the yard-arm
The vengeance of a widowed wife.

'Tis the Pirate's Life, she cried!
Tis the Pirate's Life for me!

It is not the dance in the picture that is referred to when mentioning the forbidden dance....

Argh Mateys,

I hate to post on the crew message board on rumors only, but a curious pirate needs to know whether the other crew has heard the same. I'll have to look at VIP to see whether anything do be scribbled in the logs therein.

I dost heard from a lass onshore that the Javi (Javier Grillo-Marxuach) be leavin' the crusty LOST writin' crew fer another ship, maybe under his own rudder, and wondered if'n ye'd heard the same.

Like I said, rumors only, standard disclaimers, so apologies if'n this do be inappropiriate to do, even for a QUEST pirate. Of course, the Naval Officers (Moderators) have to do their job if I'm violating the rules of propriety and etiquette, and I do be glad to striken from the logs, as appropriate.

-Mang

EDIT: Argh, it do be sad days on deck. It no seem to be rumor, as I found me an entry in the ship's log, for those interested in Officer Javi's (potentially) last ruminations: http://www.thefuselage.com/Threaded/showthread.php?t=38578

Hey y'all!

Wrote a little something earlier tonight and shared it with the Cap'n. He asked that I share it with the rest of the Gathered.

A little background: I've been helping out at the LLL, putting together all of the rewards I could find (Apple, Torch, Sword, Shield and Crown stuff). An image came to me as I was doing so yesterday and that image inspired this little poem:

"Knight of the Crown"

He comes forth from the Cave
Truth's Torch held in his right hand
Casting shadows behind him.

Scabbarded at his side
The Sword of Justice sings
While his right arm holds
the Shield of the Weak --
A Crown is its device.

The Knight of the Crown
Stares out from his perch
Watches the sun rise
On an orchard of apple trees.

Do it seem, a feast so fine,
n'er have we had so oft;
but given time, and subtle rhyme,
our words carry us aloft.

In our dreams we do hear and see,
what is hidden and what is veiled,
but in our thoughts and by our minds,
are the mysteries revealed.

It seemed so LOST, but lo 'tis not,
a light inside the black,
these gifts we share of wit and words,
a treasure given back.

And tho' mine eyes are long to see,
such beauty held before,
yet curves are not the sight beheld,
but the art of rhyme and lore.

I went to Quest-could not BELIEVE that there was so little traffic-there and on this site in general. Guess the old paradigm about writers and influence in the system still applies. Remember "Polish jokes?" The one about the Polish actress who came to Hollywood and screwed writers? Is Quest a seperate site? I tried to post a reply there and was told to log in, and when I used same as for here it was rejected. Will come back asap and do a lot more reading before any more posts, and only allowed myself this one as the boards don't seem to crowded here. Some very interesting users, and it made me wonder, regarding my own little 'quest.' I asked in other thread if Tiberius posts as Morphus on 48...com. It suddenly occurred to me while signed Tiberious inside the posts, the nick was Morphus. Possibly an imposter? If anyone out there, like Todell or Cinamin, knows, I'd love to know and will explain why in time. Thanks.

Recursive, This thread was just the "ship" portion of the Loyal thread. We do have a new Quest board afilliated with the Long Lost List site, seperate from The Fuselage. It is relatively new and still has a little more work to do on it, but we are currently open for registration. You can go directly to the new Quest site and register or any of the forum boards in the Long Lost List, they are all linked together...register for one and you're registered for them all.

Yes, Tiberius is the same as Morphus on 48...com. He has mentioned it before. Although the Fuselage has mainly been his "home".

Hey there!

We're having a little open house on Friday July 28 at the new chatroom. Stop in anytime during the day and evening (early evening will probably be the busiest). So get out of the summer break doldrums and come chat live with your friends Questers and non-questers alike.

Hope to see you there!

Love your name. ;)

You will find LOyal to the queST verrrry interesting. I love the supernatural, UFO's, conspiracy theories ... you name it. Why don't you start a new thread in the chat area, and we can compare notes. I'd be really interested in any links you may provide to this subject.

This thread is our piratey fun place to let your hair down and act silly, but everyone's busy with their lives this summer and we've been in dry dock for a while. ;)

If you do start a thread on this subject, could you be so kind as returning here and providing a link, or a least the title of the thread.

Welcome to our happy little corner of the lage, and now you must swab the deck and prepare a feast for us.

I didn´t know that there is no place for supernatural stuff anywhere here. Must think about the right titel!

Great present! :) And thanks for the support of my house! I am really interested in a thread for strange stuff but not even sure where to post this. First I would like to come up with LOST related supernatural theories but like to extend it to every mysterious stuff. What shall I do? Can anybody help me? I am quite shy with opening new threads.

Hufflepuff,

As it relates to Hogwarts Houses, I'm likely characterized as an amalgamation of Ravenclaw with a helping of Hufflepuff,; however,I am intrigued by Durmstrang.

I'm sure that amongst "LOST General Theories" threads in the Speculation Section, there are a number of threads whereby your ideas might add excellent flavor to the topic at hand; I suggest starting there.

Now don't be so hard on yourself. :frusty:

When I first came to the 'lage, I was Lost too. I'd only posted on one message board before, and it was set up totally different.

This thread is super quiet right now, so why don't you post an example of what interests you, and I'll start a new thread that we can talk about "farout" stuff in. I may not get to it right away, but when I do I'll post a direct link here. Sound good?

The past few days I have been reading about Atlantis and Lemuria again. We went down that road a while back, but it fascinates me.

Thank you! :hug:I am quite new with forums and every one works differently. I still have orientation problems here. Until now I have only posted in the group boards.
I would like to discuss supernatural stuff. My theory is that all castaways are "special". Sure there is a place for such theories, I simply haven´t found it yet. This thread I wish doesn´t have to remain only LOST related but provide open discussion for freaks.

LIGHT THE SHATNER BEACON!

Good friend and fellow QUESTer JohhnyREB pointed out that Comedy Central will be having a Shatner Roast on 20th of August at 9pm. I know nothing of the details, though I faintly remember informercials for Dean Martin roasts of ages past, so I have an idea of what could potentially occur; I'll have to watch for the spots!

The Rock-eeettt-maaaaaaaaaaaan!

Thanks REB!

Hufflepuff,

Freaks is certainly a relative term.

You could do as waltisfuture sugested if you'd like; wise, clever and beloved is our WiF.

If it's more comfortable, I suggest that you read a bunch of threads to get an idea of what other people write, and of the breadth and depth of their thought processes, and how they treat those posting therein. A good starting point is here with an interesting array of topics that might fit your interest, found at:LOST General Theories in the Speculation Section (http://www.thefuselage.com/Threaded/forumdisplay.php?f=89). Read through a few of the topics there, and you'll get a feel for how people think, how accepting they are, and where you and your perspective fits in.

We at the QUEST are a varied and accepting group; discussion and sharing make us all better.

There's also the L3...

Does that help?

A big hearty welcome...to Hufflepuff...we_rall_others...andylekker.

Cheers to our growing crew! This means more rum will be needed. Mang? You ole Clamdigger you...give up that thar keg you be hoarding and pass some around to our new crewmates.

Thank ye, First Lass Cin.

Alright ye scurvy dogs, Hufflepuff, we_rall_others, & andylekker, the good Cap'n Tiberius and his Officers, the heartiest of crews this side o' Tortuga, have entrusted me t' provide ye trainin' as proper sailors before ye can become true pirates.

Now, the first lesson o' sailin' 'board The Sea Raven is to feel welcomed. We be sailin' to many ports, and be sharin' many stories, so grab a mug, walk up t' the flagon and enjoy our fine company. Listen and share alike, be welcomed and welcoming, and ye won't find yerself in shackles or walkin' the plank.

Now it seem ye landlubbers've been green too long, and need the sea salt around ye, so join me topdeck to mop 'til the moon shines off the planks, and be ready to clean the cannons for use. Then shivver yer timbers down below, and I'll be showin' ye how to clean the bilge. I'd be glad te show ye the galley for a late Mang Tang and some hearty grub before it's shuteye.

On the morrow, we sail together toward another mysterious port, on a QUEST, undoubtedly sharing brew, stories, song and dance, with some plundering, rum running and chicanery afoot!

Avast, ye lilly-livered vermin, time to join Clamdigger Mang as our first duty is to prep for LIVINLOST's pirate birthday...

...hoist up the Jolly Roger,
...roast that mutton,
...tap those kegs,
...shine the violins,
...and don't get LOST!
