Time was still going by as the power outage was going on, which meant they missed the 108 minute mark by quite some time.

View Full Version : Power Outage Stopped "End of the World" soopafresh 10-09-2005, 05:24 PM Time was still going by as the power outage was going on, which meant they missed the 108 minute mark by quite some time. Drake 10-09-2005, 09:05 PM Yeah that's true. Never though of that. It's probably just something else to throw us off. :) Good catch! blondefilmgirl 10-09-2005, 09:07 PM Right. Either it's just a ruse or it's the biggest plothole in Lost history. I'm just hoping that one of the characters finally "snaps out of it". junglefever 10-09-2005, 09:53 PM i think the clock kept ticking through the 'power outage'. i'm wondering if it was on battery or something. biff 10-09-2005, 10:17 PM the clock most definately was still counting down during the power outage. there is a shot of it in the dark and it clicks down a number. Amber 10-10-2005, 09:41 AM You're pretty sharp there, Soopafresh! Hopefully Hurley will be punching in those numbers in the hatch, get frustrated and beat it with a baseball bat. sier 10-10-2005, 11:01 AM The timer counts down through the power outage. There is obviously another source of power for the timer (as you can hear it counting down the entire time), because there are backup lights that come on as well. The timer never stops. MikeToth 10-10-2005, 06:46 PM Easily done. Redundant power sources with a relay controller. One power source dies, the emergency power supply kicks on. When primary power is restored, the relay trips back, and the timer doesn't see anything strange has happened. And, Sier. How about an avi with the shark logo? Crowspeaker 10-11-2005, 03:06 PM The clock is probably mechanical rather than electrical, or has its own backup. sier 10-11-2005, 04:38 PM And, Sier. How about an avi with the shark logo? How is this: http://sier.home.comcast.net/shark.gif I freeze-framed it on the logo for about half a second and then it continues... Phew, let me tell you, that was a S.O.B. to capture those frames. i had to figure out where the logo was showing up in the frame, go back about 30 frames, cut each one of them manually, lighten them up, etc...haha. I think it turned out pretty good though. Let me know if you want your name or anything in it. EllsBells1960 10-11-2005, 08:32 PM There was definitely an emergency power source, because those side emergency lights came on - so they would have kept the clock counting down. |
