Ok, in the season Final Danielle popped into camp-LOST and started telling them all how the Others were coming, and basically that if they didnt hide or escape, they would be killed. Now, this was spooky enough until we saw the Smoke which Danielle fortold would be the signal that they didnt have much time. Understandably, the LOST-aways were quite petrified, enough so to rush the launch of the raft through, and then traipse across through the dark territory and carry back very very unstable (poor Artz) Dynamite to blow open the mysterious hatch to hide in. All quite dramatic.
BUT NOW, perhaps its just me, but everyone seems to be quite blasse` about the whole 'others are coming' thing. Granted, most of the action has been in the hatch or on the raft, but surely, everyone would be just as scared as they were the previous night (aka Season 1). It just seems like they have woken up to a new day and forgotten that an army of others might be heading their way. Sure, Danielle is not the most, erm, stable person on the Island- that we have met so far- but it seems like from the snippets on the beach that we have seen, noone is really worried. I dont know.. wierd.

The Others i think, was a gimmick on Danielles part.. she used it o try to get to Aaron. She thought he was the Child the others wanted. She may have well lit the fire, like Charlie stated.

But the real others also might have lit it to have a psoitioning beacon as they searched the sea for Walt. The others somehow knew it was Walt they needed, and that Walt was on the Raft so they went looking for him.

Maybe there was Remote Viewing involved, (another Hanso Project) leading them as to where to look. That explains how they came so close but almost sailed away. Remote Viewing is not like a sattelite u can point to one place and scan, its estimated guesses based on a path in the minds eye.

It has been suggested that bearded-spotlight-man is Gerald DeGroot, and the Woman that throws bomb onto raft is his wife, Karen..the Two research scientist.

Dr. Curtis who Hurley meets at Asylum, is actually Dr. Marvin Candle, he has just aged 25 years.

This suggests:

Dr. Candle's job/contract with Hanso Foundation and the Dharma initiative might have gone bad, or the DeGroot's and him might still be in cahoot's...or maybe to just stay alive and still be working he takes a job as a psychiatrist under an assumed name, on account of controvery of project.

Or the Dr. Marvin Candle as presented in movie is an assumed name. Alot of new theories pop out at you as previous ones are plotted in....

I think the other lit the fire ont he beach, so they could find thir way back home, like a light house. and DAnielle was right, but she thought they would coem to the group on land, not the group at sea...

Well they did get what they were after, Walt. So there was no reason for them to visit the other losties.

the other lostaways just think Danielle was nuts, adn using the Others as an excuse to keep them occupied so she could grab the baby
