Okay, I have finally gotten the time to finish chap. 8 of my story. It's up now. I have it listed under M for mature in fanfiction.net but the story is rated G.

I'm also starting a new one that I thought of a few nights ago. It's not based on Desmond after he leaves the bunker but before anyone knows he exists. A totaly different idea on Desmond being discovered.

It can't be lost on Desmond that Kelvin's started exhibiting some of the same behavior. I guess that's what happens with BSE? Like a growing tumor on the brain?

He's still got a while yet. Simon was affected much faster because he wasn't taking the injections. Kelvin is getting a weak dose of the serum,

I know I'm not completely medically accurate with the symptoms of BSE...but from what I do know about it I'm not too far off. It does affect the brain (turning it to something like a sponge, hence the name) and cause victims to go crazy.

Mostly stuff at my hi-rise. (I was just made treasurer of the residents council. I was the secretary and I'm still doing that too until they find a replacement). I also volunteer with a neighborhood peace group.

Why not? Australia's related to the UK kind of like Canada is. Slightly similar cultures. Also, he's kind and witty and not adverse to the idea of miracles--and old enough (though not as old as John!) to be wise enough to give her and Aaron the "space" they need. Bet he'd be great with Aaron (though that's an IMHO).

It's just a thought, anyway. Have HIC and Emilie do scenes together, and see how they play off each other. (It's the way Naveen and Maggie played off each other that inspired the whole Sayid/Shannon pairing!) If they didn't click well, they wouldn't have to develop the romantic story line. I've played around with the idea of a Desmond/Shannon pairing, but it requires a little too much finessing of the timelines for me to actually write it. It's an intriguing idea (for me), anyway...

It took place not too long before Simon died. Kelvin was doing research along with the button pushing. (he thought he was just going to be a researcher. When he arrived he found out about Dharma's hidden agenda, and what he was really in for.

The LOST writers should hire you! And you should write the script for when Jack and Desmond meet again! My personal opinion is that the eppy should be a two-actor hour. Those two could pull the whole show--and the ratings to match! And by the time it was over, those "kindred spirits" would have committed themselves to that deep a friendship for life!!

Desmond took an energy bar out of his bag. He slowly unwrapped it, trying to get the image of his father out of his mind. He wished he could have talked to Jack longer. He seemed to Desmond like a kindred spirit. How he knew that was a mystery. Desmond also had the strange feeling that they had been meant to meet. It felt like fate. Jack wouldn't have seen that, he knew. He hadn't understood the "lift it up" comment. That might have been because it wasn't a common expression in America. Deep down he knew it was more than that. Desmond thought of the passage from the Bible about having faith the size of a mustard seed. He wondered if Jack's faith was even that big. His faith on the other hand, was without measure. It was what had brought him to America, and what had made him consider the Tour de Monde in the first place. Without that faith he knew he'd be lost.

Just re-read the Jack/Desmond fan fic you wrote, xgirl. I just :heart: the above passage! It's like you read my mind, and put what you found there into words!

I don't want to give too much away but Desmond and Theo are reunited in Los Angeles when Desmond is there training and Theo is there hunting the bad guys that killed his family. Hanso is involved but he's not the mastermind of the whole murder plot.

He's not in this story. (He has a big part in the Lockedown story I'm writing. In that one he is actually Kelvin. Desmond will make an appearance in that one too.)

If the lights and doors went down every time there was a food drop, then Desmond HAS seen the map before. COULD he have been the "I am here" writer? It does indicate (as I have long said) that Desmond has done a LOT of thinking about Dharma and what is going on around here. His insights from this, and from what's happened to him since he left, are gonna be invaluable to our castaways!

I've written an uplifting story about Desmond that I'm extremely proud of. But instead of publishing this very close to my heart story, I'll just give you a synopsis.

My story opens when Locke was about to excavate the hatch and in my version everyone on the beach is alerted to this unexpected action. I added a broken female character (an ex-marine whose back and shoulders are angrily lacerated - like someone took a sharp object and cut her very sadistically) who is only able to motivate herself by utilizing her skills as a soldier along with Sayid to assist her fellow losties in extracting Kate (I hate Kate and I would of really loved it had Des did the favor of really shooting her but he's a good soul and wouldn't do that) from the unknown resident of the hatch.

When my female character and Desmond meet there is an instanteous physical attraction between the two of them. In my story, initially, they have trouble trying to motivate Desmond from leaving the hatch, so Jack convinces my female character to visit the hatch with him because he noticed how dejected Des would become when she wasn't there.

As my female character & Jack are about to enter the hatch, for the 1st time Jack notices the angry slash scars across her back and couldn't help but cringe. Jack had seen this sort of thing happen a million times as a doctor and he instantly knew she had been victimized. But what they didn't know was that it was by another marine.

Desmond and my female character begin to connect on many psychological levels focusing upon their own personal tragedies and realize that they are starting to feel more alive around each other.

They eventually become intimate in a very sweet romantic way. Ofcourse Des eventually leaves but my female character doesn't feel slighted because they both did something for the other that they didn't think they would ever be able to feel again. Alive and not dead on the inside.

And from that point on, Ana Lucia and the tailies enter the story and my female character (no I will not give her name) becomes an advocate for AL trying to make the others realize that Shannon's death truly was a mistake. These two become the best of friends and along with Sayid start to train the lostie army. And on one hot steamy afternoon (when no training could continue due to weather conditions) AL & my female character take off for a water spring and become very close. Don't worry one time thing only.

Des is about to re-enter her life and my female character is told by Jack she is pregnant. When Desmond returns, he tells Jack that the others are heading towards them and in my story the reason he was gone because when he came across the others before he recalled a soldier bragging about his female conquest. This soldier discovered she was on the island and wanted her back. My female character confronts the evil that had made her dead inside and stabs him harshly in a not so nice but well deserved area. Desmond and Ana Lucia is overjoyed to discover she is pregnant.

I don't know if I should continue my story after this point because I haven't written any more yet.

From what I remember, in an interview or from answering a board question, Ian said they told him the character could be played as Scots or Irish, and...well, since he's Scottish...

Interesting take, though. Why'd you choose "Winchester" for Cameron's last name? Because of the association with guns/weaponry? Inquiring minds want to know! :D

I know it won't. I'm trying to work as many elements of his real backstory in as I can. I still wonder how his being "almost a doctor" fits into his real backstory.

I chose Winchester partly for the gun association. The main reason is because I'm a fan of "Supernatural".(I was watching it while I was writing)
I got the medical testing idea from a couple episodes of MIllennium. (I watch the DVDs while I'm working out)
I couldn't think of a better reson for the General to want to see Desmond and to eventually let him out of prison. I'm really looking forward to seeing the actual reason Desmond was in prison, and why he was released.

Agreeance with that last Spoiler font, xgirl! It should be a real "WOW!" moment.

With the spoilers coming out left, right, and center these days, it's hard for a poor fan-fic writer to keep up-to-date! Hopefully,

Alex did not appear in Season 1. Danielle told us that Alex was "her child." In "Exodus, Part I," she told the story about how The Others took baby Alex away from her--and it was confirmed that Alex was a girl.

The girl who rescued Claire from Ethan and The Others in "Maternity Leave," was implied (via Claire to Danielle) to be Alex. Technically, we can't say it IS Alex, though. However, if you go to ABC's LOST site, and read the guest cast for "Three Minutes," the May 17 eppy, IT can answer that question for you! :D

I wrote out that idea I had for the Penny-centric fic. Only thing is, I left this gap so that I could fill it in. I could (with a few changes of words) end it where I have it, but I feel bad giving Penny only 400 when I have Des 1,050 words. Know what I mean?

So. This is where you guys come in. Or something to that affect (effect?).

Wow, brother...that's so very weird what you said about Les Miz, because I've been listening to it this week. Indeed many songs made me think of Penny and Des.
I've got the Original French Concept Album as well as the Original London Cast Recording, and have shared some of the pieces in French with a few friends. Nothing like Les Miz in French.

....cripes. I honestly don't know. So when Des is missing, is she still with engagement guy?
So she's with engagement guy while Des is in jail, correct? And then after the year where he's supposed to come back, he goes missing, she's...what single? Wouldn't her dad, glee with happiness that the 'loser' is finally gone, make her see someone else? Or I could just go the easy way out and base this fic on while Des is in prisn and save me the headache... :dongetit:

TIMELINE:

1. Des & Pen fall in love. Daddy NOT happy.

2. Des goes to military prison. Daddy sees there is NO correspondence between them.

3. Feeling abandoned, and under Daddy's subtle pressure, Penny gets engaged.

4. Des is freed. Daddy tells him of the engagement. Des is crushed--doesn't call her.

5. Des trains for race. Penny has $$ and determination and finds him. She promises to wait for him. Engagement doubtless called off at this point.

6. Des disappears. Penny is crushed. But THIS time, she won't give up. No more engagements--unless it's to Des!

If there was a relation to Justin & Iris, I bet whatever happened to them has a LOT to do why Kelvin went into the line of work he did. Probably thought, "The heck with religion; look where it got THEM. I'll stick to being a realist." As we can see, that approach didn't work out so well for Kelvin.

Re: the fire: They're actually holding the conversation through the fireplace in Reinette's bedroom. Via a spatio-temporal hyperlink. So the Doctor is onboard a spaceship in the 51st century, Reinette is in her bedroom in 1727, and they're talking through her fireplace. It makes a good bit more sense once you see the episode. ;) :biggrin:

Quite the contrary. ;) She lived a (relatively) long life and wound up becoming Madame de Pompadour, the King's mistress. :biggrin:

And when she grew up, she got to snog the Doctor. Which, y'know, is no mean feat. He seemed rather impressed by it himself.
