I don't actually have an iPod. What program would I use to watch it on my computer? Can I even do that?

Thanks in advance for any help..... I'd love to have a digital copy of the ep.

OOPS.. nevermind... just checked and apparently my laptop, which is only a couple years old, doesn't meet the minimum specs for their video player...

Unless you can watch the downloaded eps on something other than the program you download from their site... ????

I heard that apple is releasing a video iPod, and the way they chose to promote it was to offer episodes of Lost and Desparate Housewives for $1.99 each that you can watch on it. Pretty sweet! =)

Oh my god...

I just downloaded Hugo and I am blown away... So I immediately bought Orientation.

I have an old ipod (not even a click wheel) so I probably won't be able to buy the video. But don't let that stop you from downloading these babies!

It's just the show, minus the commercials. If you've seen an episode from the DVD it's similar. It's an MP4 video. I have thye iTunes 6.0 software on my PC, I do NOT have an iPod. $1.99, it took about 3 minutes to download (DSL) and i was watching the show.

The video looks a little compressed compared to the DVD but better than the VHS recording from a standard network cable feed.

I'm surprised at that. My desktop will be 4 years old in January and it runs the iTunes apps just fine.

This is amazing... I'm so excited.

They announced the new video Ipod on Wednesday - so I immediately checked ITunes and saw the TV show thing... I'm glad they got up the whole season quickly - when I'd checked on Wed. they only had Season 2 and the Pilot.

Although, ITunes 6 now has a section for video - but it won't work for me... but I can still get there from the front of the music store.

Anyways, I haven't dowloaded yet... but I'm glad to know that they're still really good quality! Thanks!

dudes u only need quicktime to view the downloaded video...ok well peace!!! Nice to see that apple.com finally has the Windows version of Quicktime 7 (of course I'd guess they'd have to now... ).

I am and forever will be a MacAddict... this just further solidified their possition in my heart.

I'm helping my sister-in-law buy a new iPod, which will be one of the new video-capable ones... which I will then have to steal from her. :-D

Long Live Lost.

I just downloaded one and what a waste! $1.99 per ep * 23 episodes == $45.77!!! I can get the season 1 set for cheaper than that and it's full-screen and high resolution. This is some dinky, low quality, non-HD copy of the video.

I'll pay the $1.99 when they release the videos with some quality that's actually watchable on my TV...

Really?? I thought it said they were high quality on the site...

If they aren't thats rediculous. I saw someone else say you cant even burn them off and watch them, which is pretty silly too.

We know they are out there illegally, but since this is a board that is sponsored by the people who actually *make* the tv show I dont think they want people running around saying how to get the episodes...

Plus this looked like a good alternative to using bit torrent, but if they arent high-def then it seems pretty rediculous to me. There's no way a 2 dollar low quality version will be more popular than a free high-def version. Apple is screwing up by not realizing this. I understand having a low quality version for video Ipods or for people on dial up, but for those of us who want to watch it on a normal screen and have highspeed should have the option to download a HD version.

FYI:
If I am not repeating what has been said. The TV versions on itunes is meant to be seen on the new video ipod screen and are HD for that tiny resolution.
Be warned, if you got them to watch off you computer and make the bigger even double size, the resolution will get blurry and look even worse in fireside chat scenes.
I wish they came out in HD for 720p sizes at least and this would be the same quality as their Apple HD trailers, which are awesome! I am ok with the res...now that I took some medication, I just like to have the best and to know my computer is capable to view HD and it isn't offered or mentioned on the itunes site as to its low-res is a bit misleading...

The LOST episodes being available via iTunes is great and all, there is just one MAJOR flaw: There are NOT available in a lot of other countries' iTunes-Shops. In other words: They make it impossible to download episodes via iTunes for those that would benefit the most of it: Those outside the US and Canada who have no means of a) watching the show when it airs b) TiVo it or record it any other way for their personal enjoyment.

So... while the idea is great - the implemantion SUCKS.
