2 sets of survivors - obviously 2 very different experiences. 1 group (our home team) lives pretty worry free and happily for the most part (except for the occasional other/monster etc - they are not that bad off) and the other group had like dozens of them killed off somehow (whether thru illness or others) and they have been pretty much reduced savagery.

What do you guys think? Is this part of the psychological experiment? Was the purpose of the crash (or the reason that boats and planes are sucked in and crash) so that people will be there to populate this experiment in human behavior? Look at ana lucia vs. jack and their leadership styles? Look at the groups as a whole - what happens to people who have positive vs. negative reinforcement (hello skinner!).

I don't know I just found the dynamics and contrast of the 2 groups interesting.

Interesting theory about experiment vs. control! I didn't really see it as something that was planned by some unknown party, but the tail section survivors have definitely had a much harder time of it. For one thing, they had that pit handy before Jin and the others arrived, and they are very suspicious of strangers. I'm looking forward to finding out what's been happening to them. I guess we can assume that they were the ones who answered Boone's distress call last season, so their hideout must have some kind of radio. (Don't know where they would have salvaged one from the plane.)

I am sure the "others" must have come to Anna's group posing as survivors of the flight and then did what ever they did to them. Why else would the 2 groups be so different.
