I have a question for all you fellow Lost-o-holics out there:

Why is it, after Everybody Hates Hugo, that people have started posting about how AL and Sawyer are going to hook up? Ignoring the previews (which made it seem like Sawyer and Kate were going to, ahem, combine last season), here are a few more subquestions:

What about EHH made you think Sawyer is even attracted to AL, when he tried to conceal the rock to protect himself/attack her or when he promised that he'd kill her if she hit him again?

Did everyone forget Exdous 1 when we saw a bit of AL's softer side and she shared a drink, and a flirt, with the "good" doctor?

Warning: I am about to bait posters with an "offensive" question.

This show is about characters and if you can't even read the characters to the point that you think AL (with the little we've seen of her) is Sawyer's match, how do you even come close to comprehending what happens each week? What was your explanation for Hurley's actions this week: "Uh, gee, me thinks Hurley gave out all the food in the hatch because the fat dude knows what it's like to be hungry."

my opinion, is that Ana seems to be the kind of chick that Sawyer is in to. she's made out to have brass balls, a big ol' fat attitude, and a wicked left hook. the same mystery that kate had surrounding her, is the same danger that ana brings to the sawyer-table. and there's always the kate/jack thing they seemed to revive with the shower thing. Remember how pro-jack kate was in the first episodes of the first season? and come on....we all know that Hugo gave out the food because rich people like to do things for the little people :). Geez, what's it have to do with his being fat? :) It's not like he had a super crazy dream about grubbin' out with Jin and the quicky-mart guy in a chicken suit.

If Sawyer and Ana-Lucia hook up (and I firmly believe they will), their relationship will in no way be a traditional or loving one. It will be angry, and violent. Sawyer needs a woman who can put him in his place. Likewise, Ana-Lucia needs a man who will always be challenging her authority. Love-hate relationships like these are everywhere in books, television and movies; Sawyer and Ana-Lucia are already starting to display the red flags associated with them.

Honestly Ana may not be as agressive/violent as she appears. She may be all mouth (much like Sawyer). At any rate, we're all assuming she's gonna be around that long.

I think the preview that everyone saw is getting everyone all riled up cause they think that Sawyer and Ana are going to hook up, but I think from what we know of Sawyer, he is probably just "conning" her and trying to get her on his good side until he gets back to the people that he knows will have his back.

I agree with snowmen and polar bears. Ana-Lucia seems to be the type of girl that Sawyer is into. He seems to go for the girls who are tough and independent. Hence Kate and Ana-Lucia.

Frankly, the last reason I would tune in to Lost is to see who is 'hooking up'. Men and women CAN BE just friends, allies ex cetera. If something happens to develop along the way fine, but a bedhopping soap opera, no thanks! I hope they don't start pairing everyone up.

I understand where youre coming from Lunatic, and I usually would agree with you, BUT, I have to say that I know that if I were on that island surrounded by a countless number of good-looking men, my natural instincts would have to kick in at some point(as well as the men's) and I would have to start thinking about who I'm gonna try to "hit up" if you catch my drift. I also think that the producers want to add at least a little romance into it for the female population.

OK, well.... you got me there! LoL The Island IS full of good-looking men, one of every size, shape & color. A virtual smörgåsbord...... ;)

I for one think that Sawyer is going to kill Anna-Lucia. He'll either do this directly, or thru some action will leave her in a situation where she wont survive. Maybe he has some attraction to her. Thats just guys being guys. If I was Sawyer, I'd hook up with her, then bash her in the head with a rock afterwards. But thats me. Kinda a reverse preying mantis thing.

And no, I have never (Nor have I considered) bashing any girl I've met with a rock. We're talking about Sawyer here. Dont underestimate him, he said that himself.

Oh God, I hope they don't hook up... If they hook up I will seriously have to kill Ana... Not because I want Sawyer for myself although I do. I just don't want Ana to like anyone and I don't want anyone to like her... I hope she starts to like "Shaft" and then Libby likes Shaft and kills Ana.. I'm sorry but something about Ana just turns me off! ^.^

Sawyer and AL are not going to get together. ROFL that'd be funny.

I think Sawyer and Kate would end up in disaster. Sawyer is probably just like most of the men Kate has known throughout her adult life. Now on the other hand, I think that if Jack had a big enough pocket for Kate to fit in, she'd jump into it. She's not been far behind Jack at any given moment, and literally jumped to the front of line when Jack was stuck in the cave with Charlie. Jack would be good for Kate, but Kate also knows that if they are ever rescued, Jack most likely would not be in her life, due to her criminal status. She may just be keeping herself at a certain distance from Jack, using Sawyer as a buffer so she won't get attached to the good doctor.
