If it washed up somewhere off the coast of the Baha peninsula then how the hell did someone in Pennsylvania get it?....does this guy actually think someone is going to believe that?

I am guessing Vacation?

Even if it didn't...it's cool that someone put some time into it and it looks like there really is a message in it.

the side of the paper have been purposefully burnt, and the writing appears to be written on a flat surface.

yeah...I was gonna say, it looks burnt in the sense that the "Christopher Columbus map" that I made in fifth grade history class was burnt.

do you guys remember the bmw films/commercials - the little short-film style commercials bmw made and posted online?

during all the hype about how cool they were, bmw hosted one of the coolest marketing gigs of all time! they posted classified ads in major us markets selling a certain style bmw (matching the car from the films) with bullet holes in it and a phone number. if you called the number you got a message that directed you to a website with another strange 'clue' on it. anyway it went on like this for about 4 months until the last message said the car would be in front of a casino in vegas. bmw ad execs handed out keys to everyone who showed up with an 'invitation and code word' (from the trail they had been following) then all those people were allowed into a reserved room where they gave away the original bullet hole filled car and a brand new one to whomever's key fit the door to the old car.

anyway, it was the coolest 'ad campaign/sweepstakes' i've ever heard of....

is it possible this ebay bottle has a clue inside to something else...? who ever buys it needs to let the rest of us know!

Should have used a green bottle, not clear.

It's really stupid that they didn't even follow the story line. Mike didn't know about the numbers. The raft AND Bottle set sail before the numbers were discovered on the hatch. Prior to that, Hurley didn't tell anyone on the island about them.

BUT I'm sure that some dumb soul will buy it.

This kind of viral/immersive advertising is being done more and more these days. Right now, Microsoft is running a similar campaign for the XBox 360, and Audi recently concluded "The Art of the Heist" campaign. Go to www.argn.com for more details, they keep up to date on this movement.

I can exclusively reveal that the message inside the bottle reads "You've been had".

I love these things. I think they're extremely creative and cool way to advertise a product/person/whatever.

There's nothing I hate more than people who try to make money off of someone else's success.
