- locke's Mom was admitted into the hospital on the 5th month of 1995

I am not sure the significance of the number 5 but i was surprised to see it on the wall of the second shelter. ( i do not have a screen cap yet but will try to post one ).

well that's not so much Jack's tattoo as it is Matthew Fox's tattoo, but maybe the creators thought it wise to use it somehow

I'm sure I read somewhere that Jack's tatoos will be explained this season. So I think the writers are incorperating them into the show.
I'll keep my eyes open for the #5 for ya!
