View Full Version : The LOST Boys
TheyTriedToHurtMyBaybee 10-20-2005, 08:18 PM I can't believe no one else has made mention of this on the boards.
Many of us are speculating that the mysterious legs of "The Others" we viewed last night were those of children.
When's the last time any of us saw an army of children, living in the forest of a magical island, battling with adults?
As I recall Peter Pan's LOST Boys (wow, that's quite a coincidence) used to dress up as BEARS and RABBITS and youngest character of this famous tale, Michael Darling, happened to carry a stuffed teddy bear aound with him.
Am I the only one who's thought of this?
Dare I declare myself a LOST genius??
sickotriz 10-20-2005, 08:21 PM No... you're not the only one. If you do a search for "peter pan" you come up with a bunch of results. Welcome to the Fuselage.
manofscience 10-20-2005, 08:25 PM wow!!! you cant deny baybee has a cool theory. theres the disney connection that lends itself to this theory. but i just dont see how it'd all come together, but does anyone?
TheyTriedToHurtMyBaybee 10-20-2005, 08:43 PM Sickotriz - I just did a thorough search of the message boards and found only 8 posts within the "...and Found" topic in which Peter Pan is mentioned as something this episode "reminded them of" and these minor instances were mostly dismissed or glossed over and all participants moved on to other topics of discussion.
There isn't a single post (and certainly not an entire thread) in which someone makes a direct corolation between Michael Darling and the person at the end carrying a teddy bear and the fact that these are clearly people that are supposed to resemble "The Lost Boys" and that our show is coincidentally entitled LOST.
I think it's important (for our sanity's sake) that we devote a single thread to exploring the influence Peter Pan and The Lost Boys had on last night's episode.
sickotriz 10-20-2005, 08:51 PM Ah, sorry, I thought you were referring to anyone mentioning the Peter Pan - Lost connections, cuz those already exist. But as for a single thread dedicated to it, no... haven't seen one. I'd love to hear more of the specific parallels...
elfdream 10-20-2005, 09:27 PM There have been references to Peter Pan..and the 'Lord of the Flies' boys and the 'onlies' from Star Trek and the Children of the Corn and the 'indigo children' and.....
Whatever literary and tv/movie references to children out of control..the've been mentioned.
I think its a mixture of all of the above myself.
Baileysdad 10-20-2005, 09:37 PM If they turn out to have a foundation...can you imagine the backstory as to how children run amuck on this Island and the things they do...?
gutsdozer 10-20-2005, 09:42 PM So...the Black Rock is Captain Hook's ship, and the security system monster is...um...Tinkerbell?
If we see a ticking crocodile at any point, we know something's up.
Baileysdad 10-20-2005, 09:58 PM Now that is funny...:)
PostTenebrasLux 10-20-2005, 10:24 PM Baybee and MoS,

ShayidFan 10-20-2005, 10:30 PM Considering I just got done being Nibs in a production Peter Pan this week, this theory makes me want to cry....haha
iamicarus 10-20-2005, 11:00 PM That hobbit Charlie must be Peter.

Oh, now that's really cute! Here Tinkerbell!!! Heeeeeere Tinkerbell!!
Actually, the way the bear had the rope around its neck/body I was thinking about a toy mouse on a string that you would use to play with a cat!! Maybe it's Tinkerbell's toy!!
Either way, they were very strange...
GL :coolorng:
silveranswer 10-21-2005, 12:14 AM so they crashed in Neverland. Maybe Dharma is REALLY reseaching fairy tales!! Maybe the swan is just a cover for Mother Goose!!!
hee!
But seriously, lets hope Michael Jaskson doesn't turn up- maybe it's him whispering from the tree tops!! ;)

AAAAAAHHHHHHHAAAAA!:jump:
Jason_Shaw 10-21-2005, 12:29 AM They took Rouseau's child as well. Maybe the others are harvesting psychic children. I still believe aaron will be 'special' even the others took Walt. Claire's psychic was intent on her raising the boy on the island. Thats more then just a throw away to shift our attention off of Walt. Expect him to start wowing us in a few seasons.
These children are drawn to the island. Locke is the oldest crew member, but also the most child-like, playing games at work, obsessed with his "father" and his " Don't tell me what I can't do!" line. Out of all of the survivors, he is the most affected by the islands power.
The questions are why do the others want the children. What powers are they really capabel of, and what is so special about aaron.
silveranswer 10-21-2005, 12:35 AM Locke was an orphan- I guess that would make him Peter Pan.
I wonder if the seabillies group protects the child tribe- I would hope it would be the adults that have been doing the killing- to protect the children.
If Walt does join the creepy special child tribe then I would expect Michael to join the seabillies.
r4stl1n 10-21-2005, 07:40 AM Locke was an orphan- I guess that would make him Peter Pan.Now that was one of the most interesting things I've read yet. The way he got on with Walt, and making the crib for little Aaron, he certainly has a fondness for children.

Blaaaat. Wrong! I have drawn that connection more than once. Most recently in my topic titled "Teddy Bear". Not complaining. Just want to clear the air.

I always think of an orphan as a child whose parents have died (rather than abandoned them), so in my eyes Locke isn't an orphan, but rather was abandoned.

true, but he was certainly raised in an orphan way.
hopelesslylost 10-21-2005, 09:50 AM Whoooaa wait a minute here!!
How many flashbacks of these Losties have we seen or have been informed that their childhood years have been "less than perfect"? You can even say LOST!
I'm sure this "revelation has been made in some other post and I plan to search it, but I wanted to get it out on Baybee's thread!!:)
Welcome to the Fuse Baybee!
I am going to be mad if we find out a bunch of children picked off the 23 tailsectioners!
But there is a Peter Pan / Lord of the Flies thing going on here.
I'm off to search for some peace of mind and get this straightened out by all the smart Fuse posters.
elron 10-21-2005, 10:08 AM So...the Black Rock is Captain Hook's ship, and the security system monster is...um...Tinkerbell?
If we see a ticking crocodile at any point, we know something's up.I think it makes more sense if the security system is the crocodile. I mean, it makes weird mechanical noises and it eats people... sounds like a croc with a clock in its belly to me. So who thinks Dr. Candle is Captain Hook? Both are missing a hand, right?
misti_is_lost 10-21-2005, 10:14 AM I re-watched the epi where Walt faces the polar bear last night. And in it, Michael tells Sun like 4 times that "He CAN'T grow up here"... talking about a sleeping Walt... That to me was an early reference to the LOST Boys theory.... Neverland, Michael with the Teddy bear, etc....

That is just too funny, you made my day! :)
MinnieVanMommie 10-21-2005, 11:12 AM I love the "I said it first...You are wrong!!!" post....Kinda like a response you would expect from a LOST BOY! Perfect response in thie thread!
But if we are talking about kids here and Danielle's child being one of them./...they would not be boys anymore..they would be teenagers and have hair on their legs
elfdream 10-21-2005, 01:05 PM Danielle's child is a girl. I guess she is Wendy or Tiger Lilly?
Or we could somehow use the fact that when this play is peformed live Peter is usually played by a girl???
PostTenebrasLux 10-21-2005, 01:37 PM Alex Rousseau played by....
SANDY DUNCAN!!! Hoo-Ray! LMAOROTF
perrybw 10-21-2005, 01:48 PM It is also possible that the Teddy Bear is a fun in-joke reference to "Peter Pan" included by the remarkably brilliant writers at "Lost," who seem to enjoy sticking obscure and not-so-obscure references into the show and then watch the fans go ballistic picking them apart and theorizing on them. They are having as much fun with us as we are having with the show!
homsar 10-21-2005, 02:31 PM Well, it certainly trumps my Ted McGinley theory.
I can just imagine the writing sessions--
"Hey, my daughter and I just watched Dora the Explorer"
"OK. Hmmmm...can we write in some sort of zombie monkey in?"
