View Full Version : "And found".....another "filler" episode SpankyMcFister 10-22-2005, 02:29 AM No substance or revelations........, just my opinion. fugitivekate 10-22-2005, 02:49 AM maybe you just have to wait to see what the substance was... something from that episode may come back in another future episode. Happens a lot with this show. At least Kate finally admitted she has a thing for Sawyer.... that's something!!! Baileysdad 10-22-2005, 11:45 PM I agree and disagree... Mr. Lee will turn out to be a player...wether he is connected to Jin (the man he takes the watch too) or one of the women on the Island is the woman he planned on moving to America to marry... We see another complete group of people...children or teens or cast out experiments gone wrong? Why was Kate going through the bottle? If her past behavior is a clue..it wasn't about Sawyer...it was her trying to protect herselft or learn something about someone else. The Teddy bear has to have some significance...but what? It was a tepid show to be sure...but everything...no matter how small...means something with this show... bina 10-23-2005, 10:28 AM I liked the episode, especially because it showed how much Jin and Sun (still) care for each other. I can't wait for them to reunite. Plus, we never know when something we see in one episode might make sense later... We saw a bit of the others, too, making them even creepier! ApolloBear 10-23-2005, 11:21 AM I liked it from the standpoint of the flashback of Jin and the Book of Destiny I have info here of it and keep researching more of it http://www.thefuselage.com/Threaded/showthread.php?t=24056 I was stationed in Korea with the military going to Seoul often and it's interesting on how much memories come back on things like furnishings, dress, etc, and really fun with recognizing some language "Ney": "Yes" etc. ambr1105 10-23-2005, 05:16 PM I agree about the show not being action packed, and I like those episodes a lot, but I think every now and then it is nice to have a character driven show...it makes it easier to understand why people react to certain situations the way they do, if you understand a little more of who they were before the island. Amber theMidnighter 10-23-2005, 06:25 PM Yeah it's one of those damned if you do, damned if you don't things. People complian about the action packed episodes because they aren't the character pieces they want. Then when they do the character pieces, people complain that it's just a filler episode. Personally there hasn't been a bad or filler episode to me, not even Adrift. I absolutely loved everything with Ecko this episode. And anytime we get to see anything about the Others I am a happy man. I personally think the Others are the coolest thing about the show, I mean I love everything about the show but the Others are just such a cool concept. bobcagen 10-23-2005, 09:33 PM I liked the episode, especially because it showed how much Jin and Sun (still) care for each other. We saw a bit of the others, too, making them even creepier! ....and thats the reason I didnt like it. If I wanted a lame love-in, I would read a romance novel. This show WAS about mystery and riddles, not a silly love story that means nothing It was filler....and lame Passafist 10-24-2005, 10:26 AM Yeah it's one of those damned if you do, damned if you don't things. I rewatched the whole first season in a five day period and the one thing that stuck out was how many times different groups of people were "the others". The core group refered to the other people involved in the crash as "the others", plus there are The Others, and Danielle and her crew were refered to as the others. Hmmm.... are the others merely a take on the concept "that we fear what we don't know?" Just wondering!! ImTheSickness 10-24-2005, 10:53 AM I think this ain't a filler episode at all.maybe there weren't any relevant mythology revelations, but it was a nice piece of character interaction and development. That nothing spectacular happend is,in my opionionn, due to the huge events that will follow. With the death of one of the castaways, the tailenders uniting with the main group, sawyer's condition worsening and the others around, there is plenty of intense episodes ahead. So this episode had to be a bit calmer, because later they won't get a chance to tell this part of the story as there might be too much going on,leaving no room for this backstory.I think everyone who#s been frustrated with this ep. will feel full satisfaction when the new episodes air |
