In Solitary, Sayid tells Danielle that Nadia is dead. But in the Greater Good, we find out he is going on flight 815 to find her in LA.

He cancels the flight he had first so he could burry/claim Issam's (Essam, maybe) body. So did something happen to Nadia in between Issam's death that hasn't been discused, or am I totally missing something here?

I wondered this too...

Perhaps he was lying to Danielle about Nadia being dead. This way Sayid tried to win her confidence, by pointing out that he also lost someone, just like Danielle lost Alex.

That seems like a good possibility. He knew that Danielle might give him more information if she could relate to him in some way. I think NAdia might still be alive.

i think sayid said that nadia was dead "because of him" ( i think, i might not be remembering right), if he was just trying to win danielle's sympathy, why would he add this? then again, he was going to see her in L.A. so unless we are missing a major plot point then she might still be alive.

I think she is still alive. We haven't really been given any reason to believe that she is dead, other than the fact that Sayid went to bury Issam's body. But that still doesn't explain it because anyone (or at least I hope anyone) would stop to bury their best friend's body, no matter what the case.

I think she's alive and I wouldn't be surprised if she's also on the island somehow. Maybe she was in the tail section?

LOL! The actress who played Nadio is alive and well. She was seen on another television station on another network. (*joke*)

I believe Nadia is alive. I think Sayid said she was dead because of what he had done. He had killed his friend in Iraq in order for her to escape. He had then traveled aimlessly for years hoping to fine her. The CIA and other intelligence agency, used his memory of her to entice him to work for them. The result was his friend Essam dying. Remember, Essam tells Sayid; you did all this for a woman, before he puts the gun to his head and pulls the trigger. I don't know about you but that would sure take the luster off of any romance whether real or perceived, in my book. I don't think I would ever be able to look at the woman again without seeing the vision of my friend taking his own life. I believe Sayid knew from that moment on that the love he had felt for Nadia was dead.

I think Nadia is still alive. Maybe Sayid was speaking figuratively that the 'Nadia' he knew was dead - from what was said in TGG it sounds like Nadia has been being watched and may not be able to move around freely. Of course, it could be Sayid feels Nadia is dead to him because of actions he's taken. Like someone else said unless something has happened in the short amount of time (at least I'm taking the crash to have happened shortly after what we saw in TGG) since the burial of his friend and getting on the plane there's no reason to think Nadia is anything other than alive.

I really hope that she is still alive, so she and sayid can reunite. They seemed like such a perfect pair!

I think Nadia is still alive too. Cause for all he knows the feds could have lied to him. And until he sees for himself that she IS alive, then he still thinks she could be dead.

I say she is alive, because Sayid needs some more flashbacks!

I think Nadia is alive. I hope we see her again. We just might. Everyone's talking about Desmond's favorite line, "See you in another life." Well, isn't that the same as the inscription on the back of the photo Sayid has of Nadia? "You'll find me in the next life if not in this one." It makes one wonder if Nadia is (will be) on the island.

They said in the greater good Nadia was alive and that Sayid took the flight to find her. And maybe, like Desmond, she will land on the island.
But poor Nadia ; Sayid has already betrayed her. and even said i love you to shannon. What means 2 flashbacks about nadia. His love wasn't so deep.

He 's not the noble and solitary man he seemed to be at the beginning of lost.

I dont think that he's no longer noble but that because he has been away from nadia so long, so it makes sense that he would say he loves shannon because they have seen each other every day on the island. Love often stems from the proximity between people, so because Sayid and Shannon are so close and Nadia is so far away, it would be understandable for him to fall in love with Shannon

But if he carried around Nadia's picture for so long and was on his way to see her because he loved her so much, why would he be so quick to tell Shannon that he loved her? I don't believe he loved Shannon, he maybe said that to comfort her....I believe his heart is still with Nadia.....

Love is a fickle thing. I still love my first wife even though we have been divorced for over 20 years. I've had a relationship since the divorce and loved that woman very much. It had been many years that Sayid had been searching for Nadia, keeping the dream alive. Sometimes dreams die hard. I believe his love for Nadia changed when he was willing to sacrifice so much for the chance to see her again. It was very traumatic for him to see Essam kill himself, especially after telling Sayid that he had basically sold him out for a woman. Sayid still loves the memory of Nadia but just like a couple who are together and have experienced a great tragedy which pulls them apart, seeing each other only reminds them more of the event, it was time for him to move on. But now with Shannon gone...............

Yes that was what I was trying to say, I just didnt have a very good example.

Definitely alive. I don't think they'd go to all the trouble of showing so much of her and making her the entire reason Sayid was going to America just to make her dead when (if) Sayid gets back to the real world. Especially now that he lost Shannon.

You nailed it, I couldn't agree with you more. His guilt destroyed his romantic notions about his feelings for Nadia. He realized he's had to sacrifice himself in his pursuit of her, and it tears him up. Maybe he doesn't feel that he deserves her after selling out his friends. Maybe he's just disgusted at everything he's done to get to her. Maybe he's melancholy and doesn't know what to think, especially after Shannon was killed.

I think it would be very difficult for her to end up on the Island. According to the CIA she was in the U.S. when Sayid boarded the plane. I could she Sayid having a vision of her on the "Island" just like Jack had of his father.

Nadia supposedly works in a medical lab. Is that important? Is it a division of Dharma/Hanso?

The CIA told Sayid that Nadia was in LA. The CIA may also be behind the island, as a US Army knife was in the hands of an Other. The CIA wanted him to get on that plane, and so did Nadia.

I'm wondering why Sayid told Rousseau that Nadia was dead... when he went undercover to bust his friend, he was doing it because they had showed him pictures of Nadia and said they would tell him were she was living if he helped them, he did- and they gave him a plane ticket for the next day(Oceanic flight to LA), which is how he landed on the island, or so I thought.
I'm so lost..

That would b gr8 to me if the spoiler's really true!

I'm sure the mixed feelings having been with Shannon and the loss would
be harder for them to be together.
(I just love writing the story b 4 it happens, don't U?. lol).

Why does he have her picture with him then?

For the same reason people keep photographs of loved ones who have either died or simply moved on. True love never dies. I still have pictures of my Ex who was my first love and it reminds me of the good times we had. Sayid had been in love with the memory of Nadia, he hadn't seen her in years, yet he carried her picture all those years. So he still had it with him.

I presume that after seeing Ep. 2x17 Lockdown, that we can say that Nadia was indeed alive for a period after leaving Iraq, andpotentially she lives still, since she had received the home inspection from John Locke in the backstory and was making a new home...I believe the CIA told Sayid that Nadia would be in LA..

ETA: BTW, some didn't believe that the person interacting with Locke was Nadia, I wholeheartedly think that it was Nadia...it looked and sounded like Nadia and fits the interconnectedness that the Islanders have as well. I should probably check the credits to dissuade my detractors!

It's ok, on the TB you don't need the spoilerfont for something that's already aired.

What's interesting is they seemed to make the point of saying that she was not only alive, but single (over four years ago, anyway).

Hello Everyone,

GO BACK AND TAKE A LOOK AT THE LAST EPISODE "DAVE". NADIA IS ALIVE...SHE'S LOCKE'S CUSTOMER AT THE HOUSE!!!

(Remember the woman who said she'd never married???) That was Nadia! She was just overshadowed by Henry Gale's storyline!

Although you are correct, if you look 2 posts previous to yours, dated 30-Mar at 12:07 PM, you'll see that this Nadia observation was already made.

-Mang Thats just what I was goanna say, I also remember why I relizzied it was her. Locke said,"no termites(I think) your husband is goanna be happy." Then Nadia said,"I'm not married." She seemed very sad about it, as iiif the person she was goanna marry was somehow not able to be there. Proubly because of the war Sayid was in. It was obviously her!
