...Hearing your neighbors argue viciously right outside your door cursing up a storm and yelling over who's hitting who and not knowing what, if anything, to do about it. They have a newborn, a toddler and a very lonley 5-year old and nether one of them seems to care what it's doing to their kids. It ticks me off - my parents divorced when I was young, but neither one ever said anything bad about the other in front of me. The dad told his toddler that if her mother would get off her f---ing a-- and get her medicine then the toddler wouldn't have an owie. Good lord, you don't say that to a little kid! Then hearing the mother almost pushing the father down the stairs and wondering if I'm going to be the one to call the cops or if their grandmother is going do it.
Siiiiiiiigh....I'm not trying to eavesdrop, but niether one seems to have any volume control, and they argue so loud that it wakes me up. I don't want to put in earplugs just in case someone goes over the edge and I really do have to call the cops or an ambulance, but at the same time I don't want to listen to other people fighting. :'(

oh my goodness, that is terrible and I understand why you feel so sad about it...thats a terrible thing, domestic abuse. Especially for kids to be involved. It affects everybody. Even non-family members.

Oh, Foxglove, that is awful. I know you don't want to get involved (though they are involving you by their actions) but I wonder if it wouldn't be the best thing to call the cops. I mean, how many people can hear them yelling? Would they know it's you that called?

The sad thing is that I doubt the cops showing up will shake them out of these destructive behaviors (or at least force them to recognize what's going on), but something needs to happen to force these people to see what they're doing to their kids.

When my daughter was at her dads this last weekend the cops were called on him and his girlfriend for fighting. My daughter told me this when her grandma dropped her off. My ex didn't even mention it to me. She told me that the cops asked her questions and when I asked her who called the cops she said they just stopped by so I am sure a neighbor called. If you think you should call the cops next time, do it. It may help all of you. Good Luck hon!!

So bought myself a nice new set of knives. Figuring that these knives were going to last me a while, I went expensive, name brand, etc. Well, today is the second day that I'm using the knives and I dropped a steak knife right on it's tip! Arg. Now the tip is bent.

Yeah, I know I have 5 other steak knives and all, but I'm just really annoyed right now.

what sucks is when you are in the mall in your hot boots, but then your feet start getting tired because of how tall the heel is.............and then when you get in the car to go home you hope that you don't have to get out becuse they hurt so bad!

Oh, well then maybe the interview went really well and then ran long! I once had an interview that lasted like 4 hours (and I thought it was only going to be 1 hr). I was exhausted! The guy really liked me so he wanted me to meet the boss and then the boss liked me so he wanted me to meet his boss, who was really tough. I ended up decided I didn't want the job, after all that. ;)

Wait, was lunch before or after the interview? I'm always too nervous to eat beforehand.

after. i'm w/ you WS on the too nervous to eat thing. when i was performing in plays or in choir concerts, i couldn't eat beforehand. i had a friend point this out to me once, and i was like "what, you want me to puke onstage!"

the last couple of job interviews i've had we're easy, it was pretty much like "oh hey, when can you work, can you come in tomorrow?" but then again i've never had an office job or anything like that.

Yeah, when I was interviewing for the job that I have now (just a few months ago), that was really my first exposure interviewing and stuff. Had to buy my first real suit and everything. ;) But now I'm here, and it was definitely worth it (I say this 2.5 weeks into the job!)

well anytime you get hit in the mouth sucks---I work at a daycare with little kiddos...and every now and then...I get kicked in the face!!!!!!!!

And something else that sucks - visiting your mom, who doesn't understand why you don't want to sleep at her house even though you have very good reason to not want to spend the night. It's in the middle of the desert with nothing around, they don't have reliable cars, both her and her husband a re heavy smokers and I don't like the smell of it, and to top it all off they don't have very good running water - the toilets don't work and there's next to no watrer pressure. I love my mom, but I also love hot showers, working toilets and civilization.

mattyd- i just thought of something for your mouth sores. Colgate has this mouthwash and it works really well on mouth sores and stuff. i used that stuff a lot when i was biting the insides of my cheek (darn wisdom teeth, took care of that problem though) it's kinda expensive, but worth it. hope it gets better!

teenage drama, worst thing ever invented!

Well, I wish I could say that teenage drama goes away, but it doesn't it just becomes adult drama. I've been living it for the last week. Jeeeeezzzz, where to start..... my ex, my daughters dad, is getting divorced. I'm friends with him and his wife. They are both calling me and each has a different story. I don't know who is telling the truth and they are both pulling my daughter and I in different directions. His wife shows up at my house tonight drunk and crying wanting comfort, of course I'm not going to turn her away. She cries and tells me she just got fired from her job, has to leave her apartment at the end of the month, has nowhere to go..... what am I supposed to say!!!!! Then she asks if she can stay here for awhile. I have the smallest house but I told her of course she could stay and now I'm scared about the decision. My daughter, her stepmom and I all living in one little house!!???!!??!?!? This is a reality show in the making!!!!

Yeah that does suck, just like when the state dept pushes snow through the night and you hear your trash can (that somhow got knocked over into the road, wind maybe) being pushed right down the road with it. That happened to me last time it snowed here. It ended up being way down the road :lol2: .

My Dad/Stepmom and Mom/Stepdad talk a lot on the phone and hang out together. I was lucky the divorce wasn't as sloppy as some can be. I'm so proud for raising such nice, well rounded parents

ok, im going to give out the details to that teen drama thing.
I had my first big high school dance, and basically it was pretty good. Except for the drama that always come along when I go out to things like this. First, they wouldn't even let me in the dance because I 'hadn't turned in my permission slip' (I actually had lost it, but I wrote out all the information on another sheet and my dad signed it, and when i turned it in they said it would be fine. guess not) but that was ok after half an hour of trying to contact my parents and finally getting through to them. Then we went into the dance and there was some stuff about Brandon and Henry, who go to another school and wanted to ditch their dates and try and went on about how their dances are better. So I went over to my other best friend's group (yeah, my two best friends hate eachother. or did, i don't know whats going on there) and there really was no couple dancing going on there for the faster songs (and by that i mean grinding, which isnt really fun when you're the 7th wheel). My friend Grace's date made a crack about her liking older guys, so she jokingly went to Charlie (my friend Catherine's boyfriend who is a junior) put her arm around him and agreed. And so her date said "Yea, older guys or drug addicts" (her ex is in the hospital for an OD, and she's really upset about it) it took a long time for everyone to convince her to stay and just ignore him, but we got her to have a good time. There was a comment made when I was with my other best friends group about how the others were still dancing with girls (oh come on, we were actually having fun and moving instead of standing around... not to mention the fact that guys were involved, too). Oh well, i had fun dancing with my balloon during the slow songs (my rendition to it of the 'Dont Wanna Close My Eyes' song was dead on beautiful). Only wish they would have allowed me to do the worm... (though i aint going dress shopping again, so this thing better make it for the next four years)

Yeah! Well I am such a multi tasker!!! I can't just sit down and do just one thing!!! My mind runs in a million directions so things get done but I have to do about 10 other things in between! It works well in my job, though!

Okay the thing that irratates me today is stupid people at work that make my life more diffifult. GGRR!!

It isn't so bad, except I can never use any sort of whitening stuff, because the fake tooth wouldn't whiten and then it would just look REALLY bad. No one can tell most of the time though, except when there is a blacklight around.

Peanut-I was hit in the face with a softball, luckily it didn't do any damage! Just a bloody nose and a big bruise for awhile

My coach managed to hit me in the face so that one of my front teeth slightly overlaps my other front tooth. You couldn't really tell unless I was smiling in a close up picture. But it still bothers me. Apart from a smidge of crowding, Ihad nice teeth. :angrysanta:

Half of my Mom's tooth is fake. My cousin and my sister were fighting over a keyboard and they managed to hit my Mom in the mouth. Slick little buggers they are.

I'm sure he didn't mean to. It was an accident. Really. He was nice to us. Except his daughter. Poor dear tried her best but her stupid parents, who were the coaches, kept putting her down. I was about ready to punch her Dad (the guy who threw the ball that made my front tooth crooked)before the season was over.

jme - (((HUGS))) I hope you all get through it okay. I can't even imagine how awful the whole thing is. There's no way my mom and stepmom could ever be in the same room together for five minutes much less having to live together. I hope the stepmom and the dad can keep thier differences away from your daughter. She really doesn't need that burden on top of everything else. I was so lucky that my mom and dad never talked bad about each other around me.

Peanutbutter101 - I feel for ya! I was never athletic, but I really despise sports because in school I was always hit by the sports balls...basketballs, softballs, baseballs, a tennis ball (that one almost rammed my glasses into my eyes. Ouch!) That sucks about the coach treating his daughter that way. Do parents just not understand what that sort of thing does to their kid? There's just no excuse for that - I hope someone talks to the guy because he can really mess his kid up mentally if he doesn't take a step back. >:(

I was on the Fuselage at work, and I went to preview before I submitted, and I hit ctrl-P instead of alt-P. I almost sent it to the printer! Luckily I didn't, but that would have been pretty amusing. LOL

OMG, something just hit me!

I just found out that I'm going to be away on a business trip next week. Yay. I was so excited, UNTIL something just hit me.

I don't even own a VCR or DVR. I thought I wouldn't be going away for another week. I'm so unprepared!

What sucks is that last night I called in for someone to tell me if I work today and they told me I did. So I come in to work and find out that I don't work til TOMMOROW! And when I mentioned it in front of the manager that told me I worked today, she was like, "Oh. Oh well."
Thing is, I had to walk home, cause I don't drive and its cold! I got home and my ears hurt so badly!!
But hey, the upside is, I am home and not working!

terribly sorry Sillio, some CRAZY stuff has happened this weekend, and the good thing about hotel rooms is that my mom isnt driven mad by the click-clicking of the computer. but then you have the bad tv and the whole being awoken early by the freaking fire alarm, finding you are totally alone in the room, throwing on the first shoes you find in the dark (which turned out to be my dad's dress shoes... they went really nice with my highlighter yellow Footloose shirt) and going down the 5 flight of stairs with the rest of the people pouring out of the rooms.... man, that was freaking AWESOME! and good hot chocolate too...

and, the moment many have been waiting for: I HAVE FINALLY GOTTEN NEW JEANS! the months of complaining are over, finally I sucked it up and went shopping.
