View Full Version : ~SHH~ Slap Happy Hour (The Fuselage Chapter)
Little T 10-24-2005, 06:20 PM :6:~All are welcome~:6:
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
The History of ~Slap Happy Hour~
This group began at the beginning of this year (2005), on the ABC Alias board, by aliasspy47. It was a small group at first, and for quite a while, but it grew into something of a phenomenon and a Family.
My involvement
I was one of the original members and even though I don't post there much, anymore, I wanted to bring a piece of the SHH family with me to the 'lage.
What this group is about
A FRIEND IN NEED IS A FRIEND INDEED!
There are many purposes to the Slap Happy Hour Group. The most important being that we all need to lean on a friend one time or another. Sometimes it's to share a wonderful or exciting experience and sometimes you need to share a difficult or sucky day experience. If you are someone who needs to be congratulated, comforted, given advice (can't promise if it will be good or bad ;) ), any kind of support for any reason.....we're hear for you. Anyone is welcome here I only ask that you respect those around you.
Here are some guidelines that I hope everyone will follow. I suppose they could be called words of wisdom.
THE FOUR AGREEMENTS
~BE IMPECCABLE WITH YOUR WORD~
Speak with integrity. Say only what you mean.
Avoid using the word to speak against yourself
or to gossip about others. Use the power of your
word in the direction of truth and love.
~DON'T TAKE ANYTHING PERSONALY~
Nothing others do is because of you. What others
say and do is a projection of their own reality, their
own dream. When you are immune to the
opinions and actions of others, you won't be the
victim of needless suffering.
~DON'T MAKE ASSUMPTIONS~
Find the courage to ask questions and to express
what you really want. Communicate with others
as clearly as you can to avoid misunderstandings,
sadness, and drama. With just this one agreement,
you can completely transform your life.
~ALWAYS DO YOUR BEST~
Your best is going to change from moment to
moment; it will be different when you are healthy
as apposed to sick. Under any circumstance, simply
do your best, and you will avoid self-judgment,
self-abuse and regret.
Please feel free to mention any other guidelines you would like everyone to follow. This is a safe place to talk about the bad day you had, the good day you had (hopefully the good days out weigh that bad).
I hope that OLD friendships will continue and NEW friendships will be created...........that wasn't too sappy was it? Anyone who knows me knows that I tend to get sappy once in a while.
Most people like having a # so if y'all want to do that here we certainly can. And for those of you who do end up making your way over here from the ABC boards please introduce yourself by your ABC screen name so that I now who you are. That is unless you carry your ABC name over to the 'lage.
So, this place may take off and it may not but at least it's here.
ALL VISTORS WELCOME, but we would love for you to join.....if you want to!!!!!

KJones_usa 10-24-2005, 06:50 PM Hey Tippy, Glad I could post here, let's see if anyone else joins the crowd :) :) :) :) The crowd being you and I. ;)
Hee hee.
Little T 10-24-2005, 06:55 PM YAY!!!.....I'm not alone!!!!
I can't stay cuz I'm going to dye my sister-in-laws hair and then I'm going to see "The Work and The Glory" with my cousin and grandma. But I should be around after that.....I hope.
Catch yeah later!
RogueAgent 10-24-2005, 07:00 PM Hey Tip. Don't know if I am enough to count for a crowd, but I'll see what I can do. Likely won't be around much, but happy to follow my fellow Slappies anywhere.
Chat with you later I hope.
rent_a_spy 10-24-2005, 07:39 PM Hey all! I decided to join up over here too! It's Rent or Meg from the Alias boards but you already know that because you are super spies! I hope everyone had a great weekend! Guess what? It's suppose to SNOW by me tomorrow night. EWWWWW.
Lost_Addict47 10-24-2005, 08:33 PM Hi Tippy and other Slappies!
This is Alias_Addict47, and I am Lost_Addict47 over here so the switch is pretty easy, I think. ;) I wanted to change my name a little to fit in with our other fellow Losties, but I couldn't resist the <0> influence.
I have actually considered leaving the ABC boards (permanently) for awhile now. I am so over all the drama and fighting over there, and this place is a lot more fun. I hope enough of us come over here so I will not miss it too much - although we always have MSN or email, I suppose. I just hope that some of the people I do not talk to regularly will move to this SHH too. :)
Are we going to have numbers like a lot of groups do? :jump: It would be fun to add to my signature. I would like to be an even number if we do, por favor. :)
Oh and for us Alias geeks who would like a place to chat about the show besides in SHH, there is a group called AAA, or Alias Addicts Anonymous (http://www.thefuselage.com/Threaded/showthread.php?t=9300&page=69). Check it out! This link will take you to the last page. :D
Talk to you all soon!
Little T 10-25-2005, 12:09 AM Sure we can do the number thing! You are #4, LA!
KLo is #1
Rogue is #2
Rent is #3
I'm not sure what my title is yet.....hmmm?
Hey there KLo!
***MOD-EDITED - Please don't reply to your own posts, but EDIT them!***
KJones_usa 10-25-2005, 12:10 AM Yes, you guys should go to AAA, that's a great place to actually discuss Alias...and be heard! That's where Orci posts. And although he's not a frequent poster - I think he lingers b/c when I asked about "Vaughn" and the show being cancelled he answered the same day. Hhhmmmm....
Be back soon and hope to see more of you.
Little T 10-25-2005, 12:14 AM Cool, it's almost a party.......or rather a small get together.
KJones_usa 10-25-2005, 12:31 AM Hey Tippy, I asked Max...aka AliasFan_06 and he said he never received an email from you so I sent him one myself. I think he's checking out the thread right now.
And we should be called Slappies right?
Little T 10-25-2005, 12:36 AM You mean like Slappy # 1?
Max is one of the the Slappies that I didn't have an email address for so I'm glad you did.
KJones_usa 10-25-2005, 12:44 AM Yep, and I mean like "Slappy #1". Hey Tip, has anyone on DOLT or anywhere else brought up the link between John Locke's (the real life Philosopher) theory about Blank Slate and how Locke in Lost began with a blank slate on the island? Our Master Spy is full of all things the real John Locke and had some very very interesting things to say.
Little T 10-25-2005, 12:57 AM I'm sure it has been, I know it's been brought up other places and people ask Terry that same question all the time. I think the link between the to JL's was mentioned in one of the special features segments on the DVDs.
Either Slappy or SHH is fine.......people can choose.....if they want to.
rent_a_spy 10-25-2005, 04:33 PM Question: How do you get pictures next to your name? Thanks everyone!
CIAgent_Syd 10-25-2005, 04:45 PM
Hey guys.....Count me in!!
doubleagent47 10-25-2005, 05:21 PM I just made the move, thank you for the info Tippy. K Lo thank you for the heads up otherwise I would have never checked the e-mail account I have hooked to yahoo :)!!
KJones_usa 10-25-2005, 05:55 PM Welcome ladies! :) :) :) Now all we need are the men. ;)
To add a picture scroll up to the tool bar and click on "User CP", once within "User CP" there will be a menu on the left hand side. Click on "Edit Avatar" and that is where you can upload a pic (aka avatar). Hope this helps! :D
Little T 10-25-2005, 08:57 PM Actually KLo......you need to be a member for 10 days and make a certain amount of posts before you are able to upload an avi.
Here is what Karri has to say about it (you need to scroll down just a bit to see what she says). For anyone who doesn't know who Karri is she is a 1 of the 2 administrators of this site..........she is way cool.
http://www.thefuselage.com/Threaded/showthread.php?t=22153
Welcome to CIA....Hey homegirl!!! and da47.....it's so good to see you both here.
Let's see here, CIA you are # 5 and da47 you are # 6
I agree with KLo.....we need some MEN!!!! :winkkiss: :winkkiss: :winkkiss:
da47, I'm glad that KLo was able to give you that heads up.
CIA, Dang girl.....it's been a long time. Are you excited about ST coming out on DVD next month? I am!
Rent, I hope you don't mind too much, having to wait 10 days to get an avi.......don't worry, the time will go by fast. :ohwell:
***MOD-EDITED - Please don't reply to your own posts, but EDIT them and use the MULTIQUOTE FUNCTION!***
KJones_usa 10-25-2005, 11:27 PM Ohhhh...thanks for the heads up Tippy. I had no clue. It seemed like when I first joined, I could upload my avi, but I could not see anyone elses until I hit 50 posts. Be back later.
Little T 10-26-2005, 12:25 AM I think that's how it was on the old board.......this new board is different I guess. I'm pretty sure that we didn't have to wait 10 days on the old board. And I do remember that it was about 50 posts before.
OK, so I figure this is the place to post this interesting coincidence.
Last night I had this dream that I had a big gash in my finger/thumb (not sure which one but that isn't important). In my dream I had a BF or something like that, not sure what our relationship was I just know that I felt affection for him as he felt for me. Anyway.....getting past the mushy stuff. This guy began to rub ointment on my finger but he was not being very gentle so I winced a little bit. Because of my wincing, after he finished putting the ointment on, he said to me, in a loving but sarcastic tone, "There you go, princess". That's all I remember. BTW I don't have anyone like that in my life, so I couldn't have been projecting this dream on anyone.
Then today, as my sister and I went to work, I thought about telling her the dream, because for some reason it seemed to have an affect on me because of how I felt about this guy. I didn't end up telling her about it, for what ever reason.
Later in the day, at work, she went into the bathroom and I told her to hurry up because I had to go (there is only one, it's a small place). When she came out of the bathroom the first words out of her mouth, in a loving but sarcastic tone, were "There you go, Princess". My eyes got so big and my mouth dropped open. No one has ever......EVER called me princess.....I mean Never. That's one of the reasons why I was so dumbfounded. It's just so strange that, after having this dream and without me even telling her what this guy said to me in the dream, she goes and says the EXACT SAME THING, in the EXACT SAME TONE.
How freakishly weird is that? :scared:
I kept thinking that it had to mean something but what in the world could it mean........NOTHING! It was just so weird. I don't know if any one else will find this a little strange but it sure freaked me out.
***MOD-EDITED - Please don't reply to your own posts, but EDIT them!***
rent_a_spy 10-26-2005, 01:07 PM Wow, that is so weird Little T!! I would have been so freaked out. I actually had a similar expirence last year. I had a dream that my sister had bit through her tounge and she was talking to me and she said "I bit my tounge" but her words were all slurred and I couldn't really understand her. Well the next day at lacrosse, a girl fell and her motuhpiece cmae out and she bit through her tounge! She was sitting there on the ground going "I bit my tounge really badly" and her words were all slurred. it was so freaky!
:o
Bluebird1983 10-26-2005, 01:45 PM Hey Tippy!! Thanks for the invite. I actually registered last week on this site when Klo told me about it! Wicked cool!! Glad to hear from you again. I love that a lot of the original Slappies have made it here! I am sticking with my original name Bluebird1983. What number am I? I hope I am not too far down the list!
Glad to see all the Slappies!!!! :)
rent_a_spy 10-26-2005, 08:27 PM I posted either here or there that I was tkaing about to see if I could go 24 hours without talking about Alias. Well today when we were wlaking back from dinner I asked what I get if I win. So after I throw out a couple of suggestion I say. "The Season Four DVDs are out, you could all buy them for me." The gir;ls announced that I lost the bet since I talked about Alias, indirectly, by mentioning the DVDs. But I pointed out that I could be talking about any TV show Season FOur DVDs. Agree or disagree? And could someone help me formulate good arguments? Thanks
Little T 10-26-2005, 09:28 PM Rent, that is wicked crazy about your dream too.......how does that happen? And about your argument.....I would have said the same thing you did. My argument would have been that the bet was that you can MENTION Alias.....and you didn't. They may know what you referring to, when you said that you want the DVDs but you never said "Alias" or mentioned any one the character names. It's kind of a grey area but I don't think it was enough for you to lose the bet.
Blue!!!!!, Welcome Sweetie!!! I just sent you an email and I asked you what your new screen name was.....guess I know the answer now. ;)
You...my dear are # 7. I'm really glad you're here. I hope you have fun.
KJones_usa 10-27-2005, 02:25 AM Hello Friends. :D
Tippy, that dream is trippy. [Haha, Tippy...trippy] Maybe it was your subconscience reflecting or something along those lines. But I would've been like Oh My WOW too! ;)
Rent, biting through a tongue sounds painful and gross, I am sorry some one had to endure that in a dream and out of one too. As for mentioning Alias, I don't really know if your friends were right or wrong, but that's a pretty thin line. :D
Hey Blue ~ WELCOME!!!
Tippy, I wanted to mention that we should keep this thread going even if people don't come until the end of the season. At least people know about it and you were kind enough to start it for us. :D Thanks Hot Stuff!
The Partyman 10-27-2005, 03:23 AM Congratulations on your new group.
Bear in mind that while this is indeed the place for any Group and 'Shipper memberlists, any actual discussion of topics should take place in the relevant discussion sections on the site.
The Staff get a little concerned when we see Mission Statements such as There really is no rhyme or reason to this group. on new Groups!
Please ensure that it doesn't become an uneccessary chit-chat thread.
Thanks. :)
KJones_usa 10-27-2005, 05:33 PM Thanks Partyman! I am sure Tippy will get right on that...because there is a rhyme AND reason to this group. *cough* Edit the post Tippy *cough*.
T, maybe you could say something like an "O/T discussion of the friends of Alias - which discusses ourselves and Alias ad nauseam. ;)".
Little T 10-28-2005, 12:42 AM Don't worry PMan, I'll get things running as they should........I hope. ;)
RogueAgent 10-28-2005, 08:14 PM Hey Slappies,
Just a quick hello for I am still at work... and woohoo I finally have a moment to type and say that I LOVED this weeks eppi. Will check out AAA when I get a moment KLo thanks. Tip - didn't we already decide on a name for you? God still works for I figure. :)
Should run. Catch up with you all later.
ps. Tip I think you forgot to give AA47 a number
Little T 10-28-2005, 09:11 PM Actually KB, AA47 is LA47 on this board....Alias Addict for the Alias board and Lost Addict for The Fuselage. ;)
I hope work isn't kicking your butt. ;)
Everyone, check out the first post of this thread. I'm making some changes.
After you read the first post again, what I'm saying here will make more sense.
Would you like to start the first thread, KLo?
Whatever you title the thread it should not have any part of our group name in it. It should be something obscure like...."I love it when it rains".....are you following me?
When you've started the thread come back here and post the link.
***MOD-EDITED - Please don't reply to your own posts, but EDIT them!***
KJones_usa 10-29-2005, 01:48 AM Tippy, I am not following, mainly because I think we can post here as long as we have a common theme. That's what I think Partyman was trying to say. If you look at the other threads on this Groupship they all chat here, but within a common theme. And us SHHers chat within a common theme, except we need to come up with an "explanation" of the theme. Such as SHH - Overanalyzation of Alias and all Alias counterparts. Or something like that. I think Partyman was just saying he didn't want this to be an OT thread in a Ship.
Edited to say HI ROGUE!
Little T 10-29-2005, 02:08 AM I thought a lot about this last night and having Alias be apart of our theme is not going to work because there is already a place for Alias talk and I know that that is what Partyman would say.
I suppose we can keep posting here unless we get another visit from PMan. It's just that most of our posts consist of O/T subjects and I know that that is looked down upon in a group.
The simple rule is that, in the Groups and Ships section, the threads are to hold membership requests and membership lists only. I know that a lot of the Groups and Ships are not working that way but that's how it is supposed to work. That's why WOW is not longer a posting thread. I'm not going to concern myself with what all the other threads are doing because I think that is pointless. I thought that having SHH on the "Lost Who?" board would work out and maybe it will. Like I said we can try posting here a little longer and see what happens but we might have to go with having our posting thread on the board I mentioned.
ETA: Rogue....you were here? Why didn't you stick around? :(
KJones_usa 10-29-2005, 02:15 AM The simple rule is that, in the Groups and Ships section, the threads are to hold membership requests and membership lists only. I see what you're saying Tippy, I guess it is either one of those things where everyone breaks the rules - such as in DOLT, and AAA, and even on Lost Who? Under Depp, OR it is lost in translation. But since get O/T we should wait and see. :) But then we do discuss and overanalyze Alias. Plus, there are already LOTR thread in the Not Lost ship as well. I just don't know!!! Anyway, How are you?
Little T 10-29-2005, 02:21 AM I know what you mean......I don't get it all either. I kept myself up, later than I wanted to be, last night trying to figure out a way to make this all work and this is what I came up with. I don't think what I'm proposing would be difficult really. It's the closest thing I could come up with in order to keep with the RULES.
This is what keeps playing over in my mind, from Partyman.
Please ensure that it doesn't become an uneccessary chit-chat thread.
That's what I'm concerned about.
The Partyman 10-29-2005, 04:00 AM I spotted a bit of confusion in some posts here following my little hello, so thought I'd drop in and try and clarify a little.
Though I may just confuse you all more!
*thinks*
With the current absence of a comprehensive "Guide to Groups and Ships" section in the FAQ, there are no specific hard-and-fast *rules* posted anywhere, just pointers from the Staff and Community discussed in various threads.
The main concerns encountered by the Staff with regards to Groups and Ship threads, are those of Duplicate Topics, Thread Ownership, and Chit-Chat Randomness.
Duplicate Topics?
It well known that Duplicate Topics are frowned upon here at The Fuselage. It not only makes subjects harder to find, but also puts uneccesary load on the server and software - why should we have to store five different threads that discuss exactly the same thing?
Of course duplicate topics will always appear, and its usually a simple process for the Staff to delete/move/merge them as applicable.
However its a bit more of a grey area when it comes to duplicate topics in the Groups and Ships world...
Now a good example to use here - especially to highlight the lack of black/white "rules" on these issues - would be the Alias Addicts Anonymous Group. In terms of "best practice" any actual Discussion of Alias should realy be taking place in the Alias threads on the In-Flight Entertainment board. Of course, the AAA group was formed befor the IFE board was created, and so it is only reasonable that a certain ammount of leniency is permitted when AAA members discuss actual topics within their group thread.
Now the Alias example is a small one - not many posts on the site cover the topic of Alias, but in a wider context, you should be able to see what I am getting at - if actual topical discussions are taking place between members of Groups, out-of-sight in the Groups and Ships sections, then there is a LOT of topic duplication.
Users looking for discussion topics should always be able to find them in the most appropriate section. For example a topic dicsussing Desmond's Haircut should be posted in the Desmond Board, or in a relevant episode board, rather than being discussed at length in a "Desmond Lovers Group" (thats purely an example - I have seen no posts discussing his haircut anywhere - I just made it up :) )
Thread Ownership?
I am extremely impressed at Little T's efforts at revising the mision statment of your group etc, although some of the new first post could raise issues of "Thread Ownership" - that is, given that The Fuselage strives to be an inclusive posting community, the creation of discussion threads such as "The [Group Name] Potato Discussion" or " The [Group Name] New Episode thread" is largely discouraged due to the impressions of exclusivity the names may give to posters that may not be a member of a particular group.
Also, if Groups were to have their "own versions" of discussion topics purely for their members, there would be a LOT of duplicate topics. Which could be problematic.
Here's a quote from an old post of mine that sums up what I am getting at:
If all the groups were to create multiple threads with different topics for their members, then the board would be overrun with group-based discussion, which would go against the true purposes of the Fuselage.
So while SHH members discussing topics in an OT thread is the best place for such OT discussion, naming such threads as "SHH [title of topic]" threads would be frowned upon.
I am unsure exactly what Little T is suggesting by... Every 2 to 3 months we will have a Featured Thread which will be started be a new Slappy ... in the revised first post. It was unclear as to how such threads would be named. Creating threads there is totally fine - it's just the naming of such that could be a concern. :)
Chit-Chat Randomness?
It's the whole Posting Board vs Chatroom thang.
Basically, the Staff try and keep random chit-chat threads to an absolute minimum. While we do encourage users to further their relationships etc. through discussion of non-Lost subjects, such discussions should always aim to be in the relevant section of the site, and should avoid becoming random posting-for-the-sake-of-posting threads.
In an nutshell, the best advice for me to give a new Group is probably this:
1) Enjoy being members and proudly display your membership numbers in your signatures. :)
2) Enjoy sharing whatever common interests you all share. :)
3) If you do post/discuss topics within the actual Member Thread, try and stay away from Chit-Chat Randomness. :)
4) I f you do post/discuss topics within this actual member Thread, try and stay away from duplicating any existing topics elsewhere on the board. :)
5) If your members do create discussion threads in other/relevant sections of the site, try and label them in an appropriately inclusive fashion. :)
Okay, I hope all that helps some. :)
I'll try and think of a better way to explain it, but hope that makes some sense for now!
P.S. This would be strictly a Group not a 'Ship. Ship is short for "Relationship" and refers to a relationship between characters in a story/show. :)
Okay this I can explain better!
Group = Like a club or society of sorts, a group of fans that share the same interests, like the same character or actor, or support the same ship (see below). Groups usually have memberlists (Example BOB #22), amusing acronyms as titles, and in the instance of shipper groups often have mock rivalries with other groups (Jaters vs. Skaters, for example).
Ship = Shortened term for "Relationship". A "ship" is used to describe a pairing or desired pairing between two characters on a show. Fans who support and follow these ships are known as "Shippers"
Jate (Jack and Kate) Skate (Sawyer and Kate) and Shayid (Shannon and Sayid) and PB&J (Charlie and Claire) are three popular ships on Lost. Popular ships from other TV Fandoms are Spuffy (BTVS) Bangel (BTVS), Syd/Vaughn (Alias), Tony/Michelle (24), Ryan/Marissa (TheO.C.), Ross/Rachel (Friends), Veronica/Logan (Veronica Mars), Joey/Pacey (Dawson's Creek).
The Groups & Ships sections of the TB are where Groups can be formed and shippers can show support for their favourite pairings. It's the Centre of Aconym weilding societies and supporters, and the place to go to if you want to join a group and/or get some numbers to add to your signature! It's also the place to visit to shout things like JACK&KATE 4 EVA!!!!
(LMAO that could totally go in the FAQ!)
KJones_usa 10-29-2005, 01:25 PM Partyman, indeed that could go into the FAQ section! Copy and Paste my friend. THANK YOU for taking the time to post that. It makes sense although I think "we should watch that again."
I see that you are clarifying most of these things for me since I am relatively newer than the Tipster. I appreciate you taking the time to clarify though. Next, "In Flight Entertainment"?...:lol1: Too funny AND creative. Anyway, I completely see what you are saying about us, meaning SHH, being careful about being a Duplicate Group to AAA. That is something we will have to consider and maybe just keep all discussion on the AAA thread for now and post any O/T on the O/T board. Now, does it sound like I understood what you were saying?
Little T 10-29-2005, 02:43 PM Wow PMan, I hope we didn't take up too much of your time. It was a wonderfully written post, though, and I sure do appreciate it.
First of all, thank you for the compliment! Now for the Thread Ownership issue. I know about this and have tried to make it understood, in my first post, that any one is welcome, thus the "A Friend in need is a friend indeed" statement and by saying "ALL VISTORS WELCOME, but we would love for you to join.....if you want to!!!!!" As far as the naming of outside threads I had no intention for SHH, or anything pertaining to our group name, to be mentioned in any title anywhere else on this site. That's why I suggested this to KLo.
Whatever you title the thread it should not have any part of our group name in it. It should be something obscure like...."I love it when it rains".....are you following me?
Every 2 to 3 months we will have a Featured Thread which will be started be a new Slappy
What I meant by this was that I wanted this group to be interactive in a way. I want to make sure everyone understands that they can start the threads as well, it won't just be me. I want everyone to have a part in running this group, because it is for everyone. And since non of these guidelines are in the FAQ I know that most people, who choose to be come a part of a group, don't understand that new threads need to be started for different subjects and that they themselves can take part in that, it's not just the group leader's job. Also by having the thread changed every 2 to 3 months that would sort of put a limit on how long it would get. If I'm understanding correctly, you (mods, admins) don't like the threads to get too long as it makes the servers work too hard.
In my own way I'm trying to make a way for everyone, who takes an interest in this group, to understand how the group needs to work. I know that most people on this site don't really get the concept of having to post other places when it seems like you should be able to post in the group thread. I think that the members of a group want to be able to get to know and hang out with the group members and when there posting all over the place, and not in the group thread, it makes it very difficult to keep track of the people you want to hang out with.
I thought that, if we had a featured thread, with an obscure name that had nothing to do with our group name, and posted the link here, that it would make everything a little easier for the members to know where the action is taking place.
I know you're very worried about chit-chat, is that because chit-chat usually consists of 1 or 2 line posts? I can assure you that the more members this group has the longer the posts get. The reason for that is that when each member shares an experience or what ever, each person will comment on it so the more experiences shared the more comment's there are and the longer the post will become. I know you have no reference for how this works. There is a group on the ABC Alias site, where this group came from, hence the "The Fuselage Chapter" in our title, cuz the other one is the "ABC Chapter". Some posts will be longer than others but it's not meant to be a chit-chat thread and I will encourage the members to makes sure that it doesnt get that way. I guess you could call it a conversation thread......not a chit-chat thread.
Partyman, I'm trying my best to follow the guidelines without confusing the heck out of all my current and potential members. I'm sure you know that this concept is not widely understood......at least from what I've read.

The Partyman 10-30-2005, 10:03 PM Little T: While I think you might be over-thinking some of this, it's great to see someone put so much effort into the creation of a Group.
The reply to your PM should cover some of your worries/concerns.:)
SHH'ers: The only concern I had when originally posting here was that the "Mission Statement" of the SHH Group read as a thinly veiled excuse to have a random chit-chat thread.
Now that has changed, and even provides lengthy details on the aims and pupose of the group, that is not an issue, and I am prety sure that the "Friend in Need..." subject is not already covered elsewhere.
The only problem I can forsee (*goes into Risk-Assesment Mode*) is if time proves the SHH to be nothing more than a Random Chit-Chat thread, and by that I mean unfocused topic-less discussion/chat, and posting-for-the-sake of posting.
I am fairly confident it won't, because you certainly appear to have some conscientious posters here as SHH members. :)
Little T 10-31-2005, 12:32 AM Thanks for your vote of confidence, PMan. And like I said in my PM reply.....you're an angel! :winkkiss:
And you're right......I'm pretty sure I'm over thinking things too.......something I'm quit good at, unfortunately.:ohwell:
KJones_usa 10-31-2005, 01:21 AM Aw Lil T :) He said we're smrt. ;)
Tippy, it shows a lot about you that you are so worried not to step on anyone's toes as well as being consciencious about what is "allowed" or "whatever" here at the Fuselage. It also shows a lot about Partyman that he would take the time to respond. I guess we're among good people here. :) Anyway, I hope this is all worked out, which it seems. Thanks to the both of you! :D
Little T 10-31-2005, 03:52 PM Hey.....how about all this pinkness.......
HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!!!
KLo, I agree with you about Partyman, he has done such a good job with helping me and you to get this group running the way it should be. I have a better purpose now for this group than I did before and I owe a lot of thanks to Partyman for that.
I'm going to make a few more changes to my first post and then I'm going to put a link in my siggy so that other people will know that we're here. Thanks for all your encouragement KLo, you've been such a good friend in sticking by me in this endeavor.
Ya know.....I kinda like the pink!
NixxyBlue 10-31-2005, 04:17 PM Hiya Tippy

Man this is all so complicated
It looks like you have tried to use colour codes, which are not permitted. :undecide:
Either that, or just a glitch from the Halloween invasion of the site by Pink Ponies.
NixxyBlue 10-31-2005, 07:14 PM Thanks Partyman.. I don't think i tried to use a colour code cos i dont know how to do that heehee but i might have done accidently.
Thanks
Nix
Little T 10-31-2005, 08:47 PM Hello Nixxy and Welcome my friend!!! I'm so glad to see you here. That is pretty strange about the color code thing that happened in your first post but don't worry about it. You can edit it and just delete all the code stuff so that only what you wrote shows up. And just so you know, all this pinkness is just for Halloween......not sure if you knew that or not.
You are Slappy # 8
If you have any questions please feel free to ask and I hope you will explore The Fuselage to see what else it has to offer you by way of interests.
More important than anything, though, is to have fun, fun, fun!!!!! I know it can be overwhelming but you'll get the hang of it, just don't be afraid to ask questions, and you can ask anyone, anywhere, anything, anytime.
KJones_usa 11-01-2005, 01:00 AM WOW!!! I didn't get a chance to visit the Lage until now and I was trippin'! Very funny!!! :24: just for Jane. ;)
Nixxy! WELCOME MY FRIEND!!!! You're right, we haven't talked in a while, but I hope school is going well and you aren't too bogged down.
Partyman, should Tippy be giving you a Slappy #? :24: hee hee.
NixxyBlue 11-01-2005, 04:06 PM Thanks for the welcomes guys.

I'll start it right now and then post a link for everyone. Don't worry too much about where to post, just follow my lead.
essay's suck
Hi Kristatos30, I haven't had to do an essay in many years but yes.....they do.
Feel free to post here anytime, we always welcome new friends.
KJones_usa 11-01-2005, 10:40 PM Hey Tipster...can you make your "link" to the last page? Danke. HI NIXXY!!!!! HI Kristatos!!!!! Essays do suck...wrote waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay TOO many of them in college.
Little T 11-01-2005, 10:51 PM Hey Tipster...can you make your "link" to the last page? Danke. HI NIXXY!!!!! HI Kristatos!!!!! Essays do suck...wrote waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay TOO many of them in college.
Do you mean the link to this thread, the one that's in my siggy? I don't think I can. Every page has a different link so I would have to be changing it all the time. Anyway, at the top of each first post on each page there is an arrow that takes you to the last page. I want to keep the link to the first page because I want anyone who uses the link to read the my first post so they understand what this group is about.
BTW, have you read the first post all the way through? Do you have any suggestions on how I can make it easier to understand?
waltisfuture 11-02-2005, 03:08 PM Hi
I went to the thread, "Did you have a nice day?" and really wanted to say hey to Charlie Survivor and congratulate him on making it "home". I remember talking to him about moving when he was really unhappy about it. It's nice to see it came full circle for him. Anyways, it has been locked?
Love the happy face link, too cool!!
Little T 11-02-2005, 09:12 PM Guys, looks like the thread I started was locked.
I don't know what to do anymore. I don't know what's considered chit-chat I guess. The line is too thin......I keep crossing over it. I was just trying to be supportive of CS. I felt that what CS and I were talking about was right on with what I'm trying to do. I sincerely thought that a title like "So.....did everyone have a good day" would be a legitimate topic. I respect Karri and her decisions so if she thought that that was chit-chat then my whole group premise is not going to fly. Sorry guys.......I don't think this is going to work out, which makes me really sad.....but what can I do. At least I gave it my best shot. :( Again.....I'm really sorry.
I want to apologize for my last post, which was quit dramatic.........I was, and still am, kinda frustrated. :ohwell: Anyway, I just wanted to say that if we stick by the guidelines, I outlined in my first post, which I have quoted above, we should be OK.:undecide: I took out the part, in the first post, about starting other threads in the Off Topic posting area. We'll just have to keep this thread on topic.......as best we can.
Here is what Partyman had to say, in a PM he sent me.
As far as SHH goes, now you have a clear "mission statement" of what the group is about, there shouldn't me any problems. If you stay on-topic with the aim of your group, I don't see any great issue with Friends In Need providing support for each other.
Though obviously avoid chit-chat randomness.
As far as the actual SHH thread goes, it doesn't have to be strictly "Membership requests and names only" by any means, but it does have to have a valid Topic/Justification. Which you now have with the "Friend in need" stuff. Yay!
I know this has all been very confusing and I apologize for that. I just want to do something positive.....even if it's in a small way.
Thank You!

NixxyBlue 11-04-2005, 10:22 PM Okey dokey tippy
thanks for working all this out
I need my friends right about now.. i am feeling much homesickness and although i am feeling a lil better right now, i am so glad to have great friends.
I will not be around next week till friday as i am going on a uni trip to amsterdam so i will see you on my return
Nixxxy
Little T 11-05-2005, 01:59 AM Hiya Nixxy,
I hate being home sick. I get home sickness really bad, that's probably why I never go anywhere.
I wish I were there to give you a great big hug.....even better would be if I had a private jet to take you home to see your mom anytime you wanted. But first I would need to learn how to fly and also to win the lottery so I could buy the jet. :p
When ever you feel homesick just picture all your friends and family with there arms around you. And it never hurts to have a good cry if you feel the need.
I'm marveling, right now, at the fact that I'm able to talk to so many people in my country and all over the word. The power to reach out and hopefully comfort someone who has become a friend and yet I've never been able to literally reach out and touch any of them...........what a wonderful thing.
NixxyBlue 11-05-2005, 11:06 AM Thank you sooo much tippy.. it means a lot to me that you care.
And i totally agree with the whole talking to people in other countries.. I've made so many great and lovely friends who are so good to me. :D
How are you tippy? hope your ok... how is everything with you?
Lost_Addict47 11-05-2005, 02:07 PM Hi I know I have not been on in awhile... I hope I can figure out and abide by these new rules. Glad our little group can stay here though!!!
Nixxy - sorry you are (or were?) homesick.
So I have been sick in another way. I had to go to the hospital yesterday. I was stuck there for 6 hours. :( Turns out it was nothing too serious, but I have a viral infection, possibly Mono. So right now I am on three different medications, two being painkillers (yay!!!:wink3:), and so I am super drowsy.:sleepy: I will try to catch up with the other posts soon. :) Hope everyone is having a wonderful day!!! TTYL!!!
Little T 11-05-2005, 03:59 PM I'm so sorry LA, MONO?......I have a story about mono but it will have to told another time.....cuz I don't have much of it right now. Anyway, painkillers? I hope you're not in too much pain......what a pain.....to be in pain......yuck! I hope, what ever is going on with you, that you will recover soon.
:balloon: GET WELL SOON, LA!!! :balloon:
Nixxy, I'm doing pretty good. I might have to travel to Denver, Colorado tomorrow or Monday for my cousins funeral. He died last night in the hospital after having taken something to help him sleep which then caused him to have an allergic reaction so he and his sister bought some Benadryl (sp) to help with that. He fell asleep and while asleep he aspirated (still need to find out what that means). His family let him sleep for many hours because they knew he hadn't been sleeping well and needed the rest. Unfortunately his airway was so constricted that he went without the proper amount of air for too long. He lived for about three days in the hospital but never regained consciousness. His sister is blaming herself for suggesting he take the Benadryl (sp). It was just a freak thing........and so very sad. I've never had a cousin die before. Out of the 14 children that my grandmother had we've never lost anyone.
I'm doing fine, I didn't know him too well but it still affects me.
NixxyBlue 11-05-2005, 04:43 PM LA... get better soon my lil one :D
Tippy.. im soo sorry, i hope you and your family get through this ok and i will be thinking of you.
Sorry i can't stop and write more but i have to get my stuff ready to go
:D:D

I am very sorry for your loss Tippy. That is a horrible thing to go through, no matter how well you knew him. You and your family will be in my thoughts.
The reason I am on painkillers right now is because the infection is in my throat. :( I have severe tonsillitis, and my tonsils were at one point so swollen that I was worried that they would close up my airway. Luckily the swelling has gone down a bit, and the pills are helping me manage the pain. With this virus all you can do is treat the symptoms. Hopefully this thing will run its course, but if I do not get better, it means more tests and doc visits. They are not sure if it is in fact mono, because apparently they can only test for that after a week or so to get reliable results. I have had this for only three days... but whatever it is it sucks.
Thank you so much for the support, well-wishes, and balloons Tippy and Nix! I luv you guys. Hello to everyone else... wherever you may be. ;) Hope that you all have a great night!
Little T 11-06-2005, 03:43 AM LA, I just noticed that you registered on my Birthday.
I've never had tonsillitis and I sure hope I never do, even though it sounds like tons of fun........NOT!
Thank you for thinking of my, you two......still don't know if I'm going to the funeral or not. I found out that it's on Wednesday.....my mom wants who ever can go, to go....so we'll see.
KJones_usa 11-07-2005, 02:50 AM Tippy, Nixxy and LA47,
Tippy - we are defnitely staying "on topic" because we are friends in need!
Nixxy, I know you are in Holland at this moment, but I hope everything is going well for you and you are having a great time on your trip! Let us know how everything went.
LA, at least you are getting some sleep for all of your happy-go-lucky pain killers. I hope this wonky wonk goes away soon. And are you drinking tea? I'm the all natural herbal doctor at your service and I think you should be drinking Throat Coat tea by Traditional Medicinals. [Put honey in it or it will be extra gross]. And gargle with Apple Cider Vinegar. Think I'm a nut ball? Well I'm not! :33:
Tippy, I am very sorry to hear about your cousin. That sounds extremely difficult and sad for his family (and yours of course)!
Nothing much to add here. Just wanted to be a good friend. :)
Little T 11-07-2005, 03:16 AM Thank you KLo, it has been very difficult for his family and his passing away has affected us all.
I won't be going to the funeral which is on Wednesday. I do not handle funerals well.....no matter who it is. And that's all I have to say about that.
KJones_usa 11-07-2005, 03:52 AM Tippy, I have been to quite a few funerals in my life, but mainly for people I merely knew instead of dear friends and family, and they are always difficult and somewhat eye-opening as to who the person really was (I mean that in a good way).
Oh! I forgot about my good news Tipster. I'm planning a family trip to Utah to see my sister this next year! I don't know exactly when because it all depends on what my hub can do - and when he can take off work since he will be going to Japan in May as well.
Little T 11-07-2005, 04:10 AM I always feel so weak when I'm at a funeral especially my grandfathers and my old Singles Ward Bishops funerals. It seemed as though the other people around me were so much stronger........I feel things too deeply sometimes, I think.:frown:
So does that mean we get to meet?
KJones_usa 11-09-2005, 11:48 AM Hey there Tippy - and all you other agents! :D
Yes, I hope we can meet, but I'm absolutely sure on when....
I am so frustrated with the outcome of the California elections!!!!!!!!!! So many things that passed are just plain wrong and I can't believe anyone was deceived by it...although I suppose it is good to know that Some of them didn't pass by very much...I suppose.
rent_a_spy 11-11-2005, 10:15 PM Wow I was totally like how come no one uses the Fuselage chapter anymore, before realizing tonight that there were more than three pages. :o My brain has been fried since I had several large tests right in a row and so I am blaming it on that:biggrin: . I really like the selection of smiles on this board!!
Little T 11-12-2005, 02:44 AM Hey there Tippy - and all you other agents! :D

Not sure what to say about the California elections...........cuz I don't know nuttin. But I'm sorry they made you so upset. :ohwell:
Rent, good to see you again! How did you do on your test or tests? If you haven't read my first post on the first page, recently, you should. I've made some changes to help keep us on topic so we don't get any visits from the our resident Mod. Even though I do like Partyman very much I don't want him here in an official capacity. ;)
NixxyBlue 11-12-2005, 09:49 PM How are you doing tippy? Hope you and your family are ok?
Rent.. we havent really met so hi.. hope your test/s went ok? what are they on?
and hiya klo, rogue and LA47 hi to you all and i hope you are all ok? whats new with you all?
rent_a_spy 11-13-2005, 04:13 AM Hey all!
My test was on the human skeleton. The professor dumped a bunch of bones out on my desk (like she did at the beginning of the semester) expecting me to name all of them and identify where they belong in the body. To be extra mean, she threw in non-human bones that we had to identify as non-human. Also we had an essay on the human skeleton to write. While it was grueling, I managed to pull of an A!
My next test was on child abuse. It was a psychology class and we had to write four essays in two hours. We were given four case studies and we had to answer a series of questions about each in essay form:cry:. Well after much stressing :eek2: , I finally got my grade back and got an A!!
I have to go study for some more tests actually. :frown: Does anyone know calculus really really well? Because I am semi-good at it, but I am really confused about integrals!
Later!:p
KJones_usa 11-13-2005, 04:44 PM Oh no! Calculus!!! Dear goodness! I know a few Calc smarties on the ABC board, but haven't seen them in a while. Awesome on the A!!! Woot Woot!
Hey Nixxy! How was Hamster Camp?
Tippy, Holla!
Little T 11-14-2005, 01:37 AM Hey Rent, sorry I can't help you out, I was never really did very well in school and never took Calculus. Really proud of you for making through your test and getting an "A", that's so awesome!!! :jump:
So here is the update on my cousins funeral, which I didn't go to, my mom went and so did my brother and sister-in-law (my brother knew him way better than I did). My uncle and his ex-wife went through a bitter divorce several years ago, so.....at the funeral no one even acknowledged that he was there or that any of his family were there, it broke my uncles heart and made our family very upset........can you believe that? My uncles son is dead and no one even really cared that he was there.
I'm doing great though.
Hey Nix.....hey KLo!!!
KJones_usa 11-14-2005, 03:39 PM Geesh Tippy...people sometimes. Even death does not help them forgive. No wonder your Uncle felt bad...anyone with feelings would!
NixxyBlue 11-14-2005, 05:07 PM Im sorry Tippy.. and hiya:)
Hi klo... it was ok not great though, quite interesting though the place anyway. I also found that I don't like all the people i went with lol:undecide:
Rent.. thats awesome.. well done:biggrin:
Little T 11-14-2005, 08:45 PM I know my last post was quit dramatic, it's just that it made me very angry and so I had to vent.......a little.
Nixxy, what is Hamster Camp?
rent_a_spy 11-15-2005, 11:50 AM Wow Tippy I'm sorry! People can be real jerks sometimes can't they.
Well I'm off to another rousing calculus test! Oh Joy!

Sorry to hear about the family drama Tippy - divorces can do such nasty things to families, and it is sad when all of that anger can't be put aside during such a hard time. I am glad that you are doing ok though. :)
Speaking of family drama... I have to go let evil spawn my brother in the house. :wink1: Silly forgot his key again. Maybe I will just let him sit there for a few... nah. G2G :bye:

Little T 12-11-2005, 09:12 PM Hello my fellow Slappies! I hope everyone is enjoying the Holidays! I want to ask everyone if they ever have something to share, like a positive or inspiring email or story please feel free to do so. I got this email from a friend and would like to post it here now. Those of you I have email addresses for should have received this from me today (Sunday). Take care and have fun.........I appreciate you all!
15 Things You Probably Never Knew or Thought About!!!
1. At least 5 people in this world love you so much they would die for you.
2. At least 15 people in this world love you in some way.
3. The only reason anyone would ever hate you is because they want to be just like you.
4. A smile from you can bring happiness to anyone, even if they don't like you.
5. Every night, SOMEONE thinks about you before they go to sleep.
6. You mean the world to someone.
7. If not for you, someone may not be living.
8. You are special and unique.
9. Someone that you don't even know exists loves you.
10. When you make the biggest mistake ever, something good comes from it.
11. When you think the world has turned its back on you, take a look. You most likely turned your back on the world.
12. When you think you have no chance of getting what you want, you probably won't get it, but if you believe in yourself, probably, sooner or later, you will get it.
13. Always remember the compliments you received. Forget about the rude remarks.
14. Always tell someone how you feel about them; you will feel much better when they know.
15. If you have a great friend, take the time to let them know that they are great.
A Minute: They say it takes a minute to find a special person, an hour to appreciate them, a day to love them, but then an entire life to forget them. Take the time .. to live and love.

Hey KLo! I'm feeling much better now, thank you! I watched and recorded MV on KC with BC, it was sooooo funny they were so good together.
Hey CC2 and Rent!
Rent, good luck on finals, and just a tip......caffeine can, and most likely will, make you more stressed......it causes anxiety. Not that that fact stops me from drinking my share of Pepsi. ;)
***MOD-EDITED - Please don't reply to your own posts, but EDIT them!***
KJones_usa 12-14-2005, 06:26 PM Hey Tippy! I thought that KC was actually very funny. Too bad Fox cancels all the good shows. ;)
So, I hope everyone is doing fantabulous. I have been having it rough. Rent good luck with your finals!!!! And CC2 what are you doing for Cmas?
Lost_Addict47 12-15-2005, 03:03 PM Hi everyone! I hope you are all doing well. Sorry that it has been so long since I have been on here, it is crazy busy at my house! I loved KC, I watched it even before the MV ep, and I am sad about its early demise. :( But, at least I got to see that episode before the show ended! Anyway, I have to go do a few things, so talk to you all later!
:pile:
CreativeChic2 12-16-2005, 10:27 PM I watched and recorded MV on KC with BC, it was sooooo funny they were so good together.
HAHAHAHAHAAA!!!! I love that I actually knew exactly who and what you were talking about! Makes me feel like I'm on the "inside". LOL  Pretty pathetic for an almost-29-year-old!
Hey back, everybody! Christmas plans... well, first off I guess I've gotta do some Christmas shopping! This is the first year in a long time - maybe ever - where I feel seriously unprepared and behind in the planning and shopping department!!!!! Christmas seems like it should be a couple of weeks away, and it was only yesterday that it really started to register that Christmas is NEXT WEEK!!! :w00t: And it's not even like I'm broke - I got a much bigger Christmas bonus than I'd even considered a possibility, so I can actually buy stuff for people without stressing over whether I'll be able to buy groceries for the next week! So blessed I am.   Maybe that's part of why I'm so behind shopping, though - normally I have to plan and scheme and spend lots of time making creative gifts. Gifts with a personal touch always mean more than just an object anyway, so I'd like to stick with that as much as possible, especially for some of my coworkers... but I'm running out of time! I'll probably have to do the same thing as last year, and give them framed nature photos that I've taken. Fortunately, I took pictures of all the pictures I gave them last year, so I'll be sure not to duplicate any! Actually, I think it has more to do with the fact that I've been so stressed out at work for the last 3 weeks or so that I simply haven't had the mental energy to sit down and sort it all out. Guess what I'll be doing this weekend! ha ha ha
I'll head 2 hours south to spend Christmas with my 5 younger siblings, 1 bro-in-law, and my parents. I'm SOOO looking forward to it - relaxing, with no one worrying about crumbs on the counter or socks on the floor. YAY! I can't wait for cookies, books, sleeping in, Christmas carol singing, good food, a madcap Christmas story re-enactment, cookies, eggnog, Ahmal & The Night Visitors, cookies, presents, Christmas music, movies... did I mention COOKIES??
:jump1:
Yummy yummy yummy! :tongue1: I might even make some myself!
What plans do ya'll have for Christmas?
KJones_usa 12-19-2005, 01:29 AM Wow CC2! Your excitement almost has me excited! ;) Actually, I am excited, but more just taking it day by day. December is by far the busiest month of the year for me with my 4 dance performances, Cmas parties, my daughter's birthday AND Christmas - it is a whirlwind of fun. :) I am going to my parents for Christmas Eve where I will be able to see my sister whom I haven't seen in over a year! I am looking forward to it. I think for actual Christmas day we are staying here to open presents and hopefully be good company to one another. My huband is gone so much that it is almost hard living with him! I say that with all due politeness too. :D
Anyway, Christmas is a time for Family and Friends, and I would like to extend my friendship and hope to those who feel like they have neither. :( I know that the holidays are hard for some people - first hand I know - but just remember, as the Tipster said - there are AT LEAST 15 people who care about you, and I am included (maybe I should remember this all for myself). ;)
WOW! This place is dead! Because of the anti-bumping laws I am "modifying" my post. I have had a lot of time to think this past week - ya it was hard but I made it. ;) I haven't thought or felt like this in about 8 years so it was fun (NOT) to do it again. Actually, isn't it good to sort of sit back and evaluate life once and a while? Make sure it is all it is cracked up to be? I think it is, it helps me realize that life is more than what we think it is....it is so much more! And being a mother, I have to realize that I impact my children more than I can comprehend. I have to make sure I take a break from everything and give them a hug and a kiss and tell them I love them no matter what - because one day it could all be taken away from me. Live it while I can right?
Wow...Deep Thoughts or what?
Take care and hope to see some of you around sometime!
CreativeChic2 12-29-2005, 08:27 PM Sounds like Christmas can be a hard time for you, Klo. :frown: Good deep thoughts, though! I hope you had a really great Christmas, with lots of good memories. I really enjoyed my time with my family; it was great. I'm very blessed to have the kind of (immediate) family I've got. Extended family, on the other hand... LOL
Little T 01-08-2006, 12:19 AM HAHAHAHAHAAA!!!! I love that I actually knew exactly who and what you were talking about! Makes me feel like I'm on the "inside". LOL  Pretty pathetic for an almost-29-year-old!
Not pathetic at all. I'd feel pretty good about it myself and I'm 31. ;) Sorry it's taken so long for me to respond to you CC2, I hope you don't think I've been ignoring you. It's good to have you here. This place is pretty slow most of the time, but at least it's here. I hope you had a wonderful Christmas and New Years!
I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas :santa: and New Years:party:!!!!!
CC2, you are #10!

Little T 01-09-2006, 05:02 AM Thanks Sara! We don't get a lot of traffic here but at least we all care about each other and hopefully we're here for anyone who wants or needs a friend or two or three or four.......you get the point. And thank you for posting that quote.....it's a great one! :)
I don't know if you care about the number thing, and you certainly don't have to have one to post here, but if you would like one feel free to let me know!
So, where did that quote in your signature come from? Is that JJ as in Abrams?
***MOD-EDITED - Please don't reply to your own posts, but EDIT them!***
Sara-SNWG 01-09-2006, 07:54 AM JJ are the initials of a friend of mines (not J.J. Abrams, sorry, lol)
KJones_usa 01-09-2006, 02:19 PM Haha Sara, well it is a funny quote anyway. :)
Hi Tippy and CC2!
I am just stopping by because I saw there were some new posts.
Yesterday my grandpa died...:( I am okay for now, but I am sure I will be sad at his service. He is not having a funeral - my grandma said "what for? a funeral is for us not him." So...no funeral, just a graveside service. My grandma is holding up extremely well, my grandparents have been married for 70 years so I am sure this is going to be a HUGE change for her, but you couldn't judge it by how well she's doing.
Anyway, I just wanted to say howdy and thanks for the friendship. Great quote Sara - it is so true.
Sara-SNWG 01-09-2006, 02:26 PM My friend came out with that sentence while driving to a branding (branding calves, ya know...) I don't remember what we were talking about exactly, but I do remember I stared at him: "huh?! lol, yer incredible, lonesome cowboy..."
KJones, I am really sorry for your loss. You and your family are in my thoughts.
A big hug,
Sara
KJones_usa 01-09-2006, 07:58 PM Aw thanks Sara. :) Your friend sounds pretty funny.
Tippy, this is for you:
Nelson Mandela's inaugural address
Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.
Our deepest fear
is that we are powerful beyond measure.
It is our light, not our darkness
that most frightens us.
We ask ourselves, who am I
to be brilliant, talented, and famous?
Actually,
who are you not to be.
You are a child of God.
You're playing small doesn't serve the world.
There is nothing to enlightened about shrinking
so that other people won't feel insecure around you.
We were born to make manifest the glory of God
that is within us.
It is not just in some of us. It's in everyone.
And as we let our own light shine
unconsciously we give others permission to do the same.
As we are liberated from our own fear,
our presence automatically liberates others.
Nelson Mandela
Inaugural address - 1994
Although this quote was indeed voiced by Nelson Mandela, it was written by Marianne Williamson and published in 1992 in her book Return to Love ... .
Sara-SNWG 01-10-2006, 03:49 AM Ya know, cowboys can be funny...
CreativeChic2 01-12-2006, 09:51 PM Little T, where did you find the pic that goes with your profile? I have a T-shirt with that exact picture on it!!!!! How cool is that?! :) I'd love to get a framed print, though, but I don't know where to get it. There's a name on the corner of the shirt; guess I oughta google it, huh? (Duh!)
KJones, you have my sympathies as well. I lost my favorite grandfather to a rare disease after years of suffering. The good news is, I know I'll see him in heaven. He was so ready to go, and yet so uncomplaining. He was a rare man, well known in the community for his character. I wish my future kids (if I ever have any) could have met him, but I'll make sure they hear all about him. I've also lost my grandmother on the other side of my family, but we were never close. I know she's much happier in heaven - she had a pretty miserable life here on earth - so I don't grieve for her or miss her in the way I miss Grandpa.
Heavy duty! So, on a lighter note... have any of you been on the Alias General Board lately? I haven't been able to get into the SHH thread for a couple of days now - just get the "web site is temporarily too busy to process your request" message every time. I also can't seem to open anything else; I click on one of the threads and it acts like it's opening, but then nothing happens. It's the weirdest thing, and VERY ANNOYING!!!!! HELP!
Little T 01-13-2006, 01:18 AM JJ are the initials of a friend of mines (not J.J. Abrams, sorry, lol)
Oh.....well I'm sure you can see where I thought it might be Abrams.....how cool would that have been.
Haha Sara, well it is a funny quote anyway. :)

I'm so sorry KLo.:frown: I lost my Grandpa back in '97, I don't deal with death well at all. I hope your grandmother is still doing as well as can be expected. Looks like you were doing OK when you posted last, I hope your still OK.
My friend came out with that sentence while driving to a branding (branding calves, ya know...) I don't remember what we were talking about exactly, but I do remember I stared at him: "huh?! lol, yer incredible, lonesome cowboy..."
It's a good one, Sara. You should tell him that for me the next time you see him. ;)
Aw thanks Sara. :) Your friend sounds pretty funny.

Thanks for the extra info on the Mandela Address. And thank you for sharing it with me. I've posted this several times for others to read but no one has ever given it back to me. Thank You dear friend!
Ya know, cowboys can be funny...
Yes they can......I love cowboy poetry!

I did a search for Fairy Avatars (I think that's what I searched) and found a site with some really good ones. That's really cool that you have a T-Shirt with that pic on it........how cool is that? ;)

I think I tried yesterday or the day before, and had some trouble as well. Who knows what's going on. :ohwell:
Sara-SNWG 01-13-2006, 11:07 AM LOL, I'll tell him, Little T ;)
Cowboy poetry rules!!! :D
Disclaimer: I am NOT (and will probably never be) in touch with J.J. Abrams. I've never met him or talked to him on the phone or via email, fax, telex, flying pigeon, smoke signs.
Maybe someday I'll have the immense priviledge to tell him something like "Hello, nice to meet you and... by the way: GREAT SHOW! Woo hoo!" then noticing his look I'll add a "Okay, bye..." *self-eclipsing*
Little T 01-13-2006, 10:29 PM If you do meet him, one day, I'm sure you'll tell him "Hi" for me wont you. And I'll do the same for you. ;)
Sara-SNWG 01-14-2006, 03:25 AM Sure, Little T. No problem! ;)
Little T 01-14-2006, 10:55 PM I received this email from a friend and thought I would share it will y'all!

Starrox 01-16-2006, 07:15 PM Just FYI: this email seemed fishy and like the typical hoax email to me, so I looked into it and it is indeed a hoax, especially the part about the crying baby!
KJones_usa 01-17-2006, 02:16 AM Thanks for the warning Tippy. Hopefully we've all watched enough TV to be super alert. ;) Hee, hee...TV is good for you.
Sara, be sure to say hi for me too - heck, say hi for everyone!
Starrox, guess that police...er TSA badge speaks true - thanks for the heads up.
Sara-SNWG 01-17-2006, 03:22 AM LOL... okay KJones! :D
*makes note to self... when meet 'the other JJ' say HI from everyone at the SHH...*
Starrox 01-18-2006, 05:45 PM Starrox, guess that police...er TSA badge speaks true - thanks for the heads up.
Actually, that was the regular-me, not the MiniMod-me - I hate those chain emails with a passion and have made it a habit to check for hoaxes if I get them, so I thought I'd better share with you guys... :)
KJones_usa 01-19-2006, 04:01 PM Well thanks either way Starrox, either Mini-mod or the real you...I guess what I was trying to say is that because you take the time, you make a great (mini) mod! :D
TTFN!

Thanks Starrox, I wasn't sure of that myself, but even though this email is a hoax, I still think there are some good tips listed.

KJones_usa 01-21-2006, 11:20 PM Hi Zimmer, this is a thread to meet and greet friends...Little T did her best to explain it on Page 1.
Little T 01-22-2006, 12:24 AM :O We were moved! We are officially Not Lost! Hooray, I was hoping we weren't lost. ;)
Huh.....strange, I wonder why we were moved. I'm not complaining, just curious. Maybe this way we will get more members. As long as we're allowed to exist I'm happy!!!
Hi Zimmer!
KJones_usa (KLo) is right, everything should be explained on the first page. Although if you have any questions please feel free to ask.
ScaredofPolarBears 01-25-2006, 07:10 PM hey slappies

It's good to see you around here again, I hope you're doing well.
KJones_usa 02-07-2006, 07:11 PM So, how is everyone doing? This thread needs to get pumpin'. I can start off with some pumpin' smileys.
:jump1: :jump: :lol2:  :clapping:
Next, I would like to introduce myself. My name is K Lo...the reason? Because my usual screen name is KLopez_usa...so..K Lo - plus I have a big butt. Next, I am married with two kids. Both give me grief, but I live and feel like I have it easy in life. I also teach at a dance studio and am part of a dance company - both of which soke up a lot of my time. I haven't had a lot of free time lately, hence not coming to the 'Lage - but love chat with y'all. Hope all is well with you!
ScaredofPolarBears 03-03-2006, 12:41 PM Thanks for the links Tippy! Sorry I was MIA for a bit there...poor SHH Fuse Chapter thread is last on the Not Lost section! we gotta bump bump bump it up!!
Little T 03-04-2006, 04:04 PM Hey there Kait! The rest of us have been MIA as well so, no worries. I think this thread might be going into hibernation for a while. If you ever have anything you want to talk about though feel free to do so and I'll do my best to be around.
Side note: Bumping threads is really frowned upon here so keep that in mind. ;)
Superman 03-04-2006, 04:27 PM Thanks for the links Tippy! Sorry I was MIA for a bit there...poor SHH Fuse Chapter thread is last on the Not Lost section! we gotta bump bump bump it up!!

myothercarisflight815 04-21-2006, 09:12 PM Yep! I of course am neck high in posting in the theories section... but I also post in the Hot Ship. I had never seen your Happy Hour spot so I thought I'd pop in & check it out!
*looks around*
Nice place! :balloon:
Little T 04-21-2006, 09:22 PM This group started in the "Lost Who" section but it's been move a couple of times and was shut down once because it was too out of place, I think. This "Chit Chat Groups" section is new though, isn't it?
I'm glad you think it's nice, it's a really small group but it's a positive place for anyone who needs a friend!
ScaredofPolarBears 04-22-2006, 02:43 AM yay SHH the fuselage chapter is revived!! wooo!! :D:D:)hehe...we were havin troubles in that other section...yeah I think Chit Chat is a new section, or maybe I just didn't see it before, but the "Chit Chat Groups" is definitely new.
well on to Chit Chatting...
I saw American Dreamz tonight...pretty good movie, made me laugh out loud more than once, but the end wasn't really funny at all. Kinda odd. Anyway, I still thought it was good, but 3/4 the way through the film the theater started to smell really bad! I couldn't figure out what it was, it smelled like Vicks vapo rub or Icy Hot or something. We moved over to the left side of the theater, and afterwards when we were leaving I saw a lady putting her sock and shoe back on. I think she was rubbing some smelly cream on her foot or ankle! Soo gross!! Lady! Do that at HOME! It seriously stunk and the people in the row in front of us were complaining as well. I bet half the theater could smell that. I find it surprising how at home people feel in the theater...um hello!? you arent alone!! haha well anyway I'm rambling...good thing we have a 'chit chat' thread hehehe ok.....
about lost...so far from now! at least we have alias to keep us happy. this week's rocked and next weeks looks AWESOME TOOOO!!!:) ok well i better go.....cyaa
Little T 04-22-2006, 04:04 PM Kait, that story is so dang funny. That sure is gross to do that in the theater with other people around, I hope she felt better though.
I'm going to see American Dreamz when I go to visit my sister next week (May1st - May 8th) I'm looking forward to seeing it. I'm glad you liked it Kait !
I hope the others will feel comfortable coming over here, it would be really cool if that happened. I guess we'll see.
