Ana really doesn't bother me that much. She probably has a reason for her behavior, but I do see a lot of very negative Ana posts. Sometimes, the first impression of a character is very difficult to shake. I think she will make things very interesting for our faves.

Lets just say I'll be extremely disappointed if she and Kate aren't mudwrestling within the next several episodes.

I think regardless if you like Ana Lucia's character or not, a good fight between her and Kate would be quality entertainment!

In a way someone already kicked her butt - JIN. I loved how he shut her up at the beach when he turned out to be a much more capable fisherman then she is. :biggrin:

So I think the only way to get to her and kick her butt is for the other survivors to show her that they have knowledge, skills and abilities that outpass her own.

I'd love it if Sun turned out to be some sort of Marshal Arts expert and just flipped Ana on her back. Wouldn't that be great??

It seems inevitable that AL and Kate, two very strong females with the ability to defend themselves, to end up in some sort of fight. Who knows, maybe Kate and AL learned from the same person?

Lol, I agree, absolutely priceless. :biggrin: Jin was simply and utterly cool in that scene. And it really showed something else:

We have two "leaders": Jack, who is a "primus inter pares", first among equals, a democratic leader. Ana, however, is more of a military leader, she tells the others what they are supposed to do next and they follow her orders. That is why the fishing scene is so interesting. Ana is trying to tell Jin what he is supposed to do. He does not follow her orders, does things his way and thus signals her that he will not (and no longer, compared to the times he worked for Sun's father) blindly follow orders - at least not in an area where he is the man with the expertise.

If we are to see a "clash of leadership" between Jack and Ana then Ana has gotten her first taste of how the members of Jack's group are going to react and that they would not accept Ana as a leader that easily if Ana challenged Jack for the the overal leadership of both groups.

Brilliant, and I had never thought of that before. Perhaps Ana can help resolve some of Kate's past. Maybe they did "Learn from the same person." And maybe they did "work" together. It was made clear that by the time Kate was old enough she left home, but wasn't necessarily on the RUN the whole time. After all she did make the curtains in her apt. What if she was a cop and was set up. That would explain why she is supposidly so dangerous. If someone is well trained, they are always dangerous. What if Ana set her up, or what if Ana knows what happened, and doesn't realize she knows. I mean maybe she knows what happened without necessarily knowing Kate.

Come on. Ana's biggest problem is her quick resort to violence. She won't be defeated with violence. (And I CERTAINLY wouldn't want for a male to touch her, no matter what she's done.) The best way for them to deal with Ana's "bad sergeant" act is to ignore her.

I can't wait to see Sayid give her that little smirk that he used when Boone "ordered" him to stay away from Shannon.

I personally, am a big fan of Anna's. I know a lot of people think she's a witch but I really like her. She's the sort of character the show needs, that one person who's taking control and has that edgy attitude. I know she may be mean and I don't really like how she's treating Sawyer, but it would be way out of her character to treat him any other way.

Ana Lucia has irritated me, but I'm holding off judgement until I find out what
happened to make ALL the Tailies so jumpy and guarded.

I have a feeling that something awful has happened to them since the crash,
and once we know about it--we'll be more sympathetic to Rambina.

I still wish she'd treat James with a bit more mercy though. after all,
he's HURT!

Although I'm thinking there'll be some story that will make us feel more sympathetic toward ana - i still feel she overstepped all shreds of respect and decency after knowing jin, micheal and sawyer were survivors of the crash. whatever happened to her or to the rest of the tailies will never be an adequate excuse or reason for the way she commanded and dictated to them. at the same time, i don't think having her beaten because she is a moron is right either. i'd like for her to just get swept far out to sea and have no one notice.. she could get rescued or whatever - just so long as she's off my tv :)

That certainly seems far worse than what Ana has done, to me anyway. I should think murder oversteps "all shreds of respect and decency" much more so than a little humiliation.

I'd like to evenutally see a plot point involving something other than a purely physical payback....something like: Sawyer has something in his "stash" that Ana desperately needs, and he gets to realllllllyyyy make her swallow her pride.

OK now I know it would be a hardship but I will sacrifice time with my family to fly over to Hawaii and be a guest actor on the show so I can personally whack her one. I know,I know, you can thank me later.....

I doubt if Ana-Lucia would be put down by a physical "Kick in the behind" or by a strong person trying to face her down. I believe that is the wrong approach where she is concerned. If anyone brings her up short, I think it would be Rose using a more mature approach than a kick.

I think it’s too soon to judge her actions since we haven’t seen enough of her or her background. However the more I see of these “knock Ana around” threads, the more value & fun I see in bringing her to the show.

I think Sayid should kill her for what she did. Although I think it would be great for Kate to do it too.
I can't stand her and am a little sad she wasn't the one to die!

I believe that the tailies are in a somewhat post traumatic syndrome. Everyone heard the voices and Ana-Lucia was panicked by Vincent and Shannon running through the jungle, plus another tailie goes missing. This does contradict what she said about having one bullet to stop the Others. She was willing to use it then and there. By panicking A-L isn't that tough. They did show that pose of Ana-Lucia with the gun during the promo. It will be quite interesting when they are all together. There is going to be a lot of energy in the group again. Jack will have mixed feelings because of the prior meeting but it will be Kate who gives it A-L.. Then Sayid, Michael, Jin, and Sawyer will join in. Hope Vincent lifts a leg on her too. You have to have someone like A-L and the tailies. It would be boring if they all loved each other and sat around singing Kumbaya.

Finally, finally it is the man who falls during the important scene. Sayid tripped and fell just like all those women who run and always fall when being chased and then get killed.

I think Sayid's gonna show her how they do things downtown.

I hope someone does. Sayid, Kate, The Others... I honestly don't care who.:frown: She's punched people, shot Shannon and generally behaved like a cow. I hope someone gives her the same treatment.

What I find interesting is that last season, Kate was supposed to be the tough convict chick, but towards the end, and during the few glimpses of her we've seen this season, she's been reduced to a sobby, "woe is me expression on my face all the time" character with nothing of value to add other than indulging in shampoo, whereas Ana is clearly the new, tough-to-the-point-of-sheer-shrewish, bitch on the island. Where does that leave Kate? Voted off Survivor:LOST? I hope so.

I'm with you on that! I'm not one who usually condones men hitting women but I'd be okay with it in this case. The poor guy has been shot and can barely walk and she's beating the sh#% out of him and being super mouthy. I could understand her hitting him and treating him bad before she knew that he was not an "Other" but now she's got no excuse.

I don't think it will be Sayid or Kate. I think the classic conflict is Jack vs Ana - remember the flirtation from seaon 1? What fun to watch the tables turn on that behavior. But no matter who does the butt-kicking - it seriously is needed. Even though the whole 'Ana as a bad ***' is such type-casting for Michele Rodriguez and I really don't Lindehof and crew are what you would call 'typecasters'.

To me it looks like the one delivering a corrective foot to Ana's posterior will be Ana-Lucia. I bet she suffers a major guilt trip and possible breakdown over her action with Shannon. She was already riding on the edge and driven by fear, now add a little extra guilt & watch her go down.

Of course this is assuming she survives Sayid's initial reaction to what she did.
