I was thinking back to when they found "Adam and Eve". I need to go back to watch the DVD to get the quote right but didn't Jack say they have had to have been there for at least 50 years? It got me thinking about history and what was going on in the South Pacific then. One thing that I came up with is that it could be Amelia Earhart. Granted that happened in '37 but Jack just said atleast 50 years. It could have been more. I was wondering if anyone else thinks it could be her and her co-pilot Fred Noonan.

i suppose its possible but, wwII as well, and she could have crashed there in 37 then lived on the island awhile then died 50 years ago.

The Amelia Earhart thing has been speculated on by a lot people. In an interview one of the producers was asked if it was true. They said no, but it was a good theory. I guess they would say no, even if it were true.

Maybe they have not been there 50 years but they dried up...like Jerky...when someone did not push the button?

Time to revisit the Fred and Amelia theory after the most recent epi. Check out this gif (http://sier_element.home.comcast.net/charlie_plane.gif) of the crashing plane from the most recent episode. Notice the twin tails. Now check out this picture (http://www.silentthundermodels.com/images/desktop/private/lockheedelectraearhardt_H0748C2W.jpg) of Amelia Earhart's plane. Notice the twin tails...
I could swear that Damon dismissed the notion a while back that Adam and Eve were Fred and Amelia. Maybe they've reconsidered?
PS: False alarm -- the drug plane had twin tales too.

Bigmouth:
Do we know that the plane is crashing, or could this be Charlie's premonition of a plane arriving in the near future bringing supplies, and possibly new characters to the show?

Aquarian: I'm pretty sure it's the same twin-tailed plane from Locke's dream (i.e., the drug plane) which makes me think crash. But the significance, as you note, remains open to question. It could be someone manipulating them -- it could even be a warning that Charlie's use of drugs will result in danger to Aaron and Claire.
Like you, however, I have a suspicion there will be another crash before this season ends. My guess is it will result from someone failing to enter the numbers...
