I haven't seen anything along these lines mentioned before, so new thread.
Jack has been involved in (if not partially responsilbe for) the deaths of Boone, Adam Rutheford, and depending on what happens, possibly Shannon as well. I'm not quite sure what it means but it seems more than a passing coincidence.

Well, you can't blame Jack for Boone's death. There was nothing that Jack could have done. And Shannon died in Sayid's arms after Ana shot her, so Jack has nothing to do with that. As for Shannon's father, that is sort of Jack's fault.

Jack had NO PART, I repeat, NO PART IN SHANNON'S DEATH. That scene with him behind the tree shown in the preview for Abandoned at the end of ...And Found was him in Episode 15 of Season One waiting for Ethan when they used Claire as bait. It was just to show Jack. Jack wasn't there when Shannon got shot/stabbed/whatever'd.

Jack killed the marshall too (after Sawyer shot and missed).

Jack's a doctor so he's going to likely be around if ppl die when they're brought to him for medical attention.
As was mentioned that clip was from the HC promo so he wasn't around Shannon. He did all he could for Boone, Sarah was brought in first & Mr. R wasn't breathing. There's no way he could have saved both since Sarah's BP was crashing. Then 2 die instead of 1...He couldn't have saved both Boone/Joanna either.
Indeed he euthanized the Marshal but was kinda stuck w/that one too. He's always in lose lose positions isn't he lol.

I didn't claim he had been involved in Shannon's death, but if they are now that close to the camps it's reasonable to suspect that with both Shannon and Sawyer seriously injured Jack will be quickly brought into the situation.
Jack may not be responsible, but I find his involvement in this many deaths from one family a bit more than mere coincidence.

What I want to know is ... if Shannon is dead.. then what happens to the whole thing about Adam Rutherford being in the ER and Jack making the decision to save Sarah over Adam.. That seemed like too much of an important thing to just let drop, but if Shannon is Dead then that whole connection just dies too?
Also the mystery of who she was married too will also never be answered either if she dies. At least when Boone died nothing was left unanswered about him. And if there was, at least Shannon was still alive to carry on the flashbacks.

For Boone's death, there was nothing Jack could do to save him. And we all saw how hard he tried. Boone was the one to tell him to let him go. As for Mr. Rutherford's death, I can understand why you would say that he is responsible, but Jack just did what he thought was the more logical choice. He saved the young woman, opposed to the older man, who had lived more of his life.
And ah, Cluck, you're right! How could we possibly find out that info now? :frown:

You never know about the marriage thing, though. There's always the possibility that we could find that out during someone else's flashbacks (like Shannon was married to Hurley's ninth cousin twice removed, for example )
I see the Jack/Shannon connection like the Boone/Sawyer connection. At some point in their pasts, they were in the same place at the same time, but only the audience knows about it. So the connection will always be there, the Lostaways will just never know about it.
