Did Anyone See The Faces In The Mud, Right Before Sawyer Was Handed Up The Hill In The Stretcher?

I will have to look more closely at that scene.
I saw a face in the mud in another scene; when Sayid is holding Shannon after she has been shot/stabbed.

ETA I have also wondered about the shiny green thing just to the left of Sayid on the ground. Could be a leaf, but maybe not.

ETA again: there is something that looks like half of a round (disc shaped) rock and the face is just to the left of that.

Where and when? I just had a quick look back at this scene, but I couldn't see anything.

I think this is the scene that chrisde0303 is talking about; I'm still studying it to see if I see faces here, too.:)

ETA Yes I see a small face in the mud - in the roots to the left of the group. It looks like a child's face - pinkish.
It is to the left in the last clump of mud on the left.

I see a small pinkish face too hard to tell the perspective though is it back from the rock face or in front ?

The pink face I see is actually embedded in the mud/rock. You can't see the entire face. If you look at the rock face on the left side of the page, you will see a root/limb lying diagonally from NW to SE against the rock face. To the NE of that piece of wood is where I see the image. It is quite small. Hope that helps.

Unless there are literal faces there - which I don't see - the only thing there are formations that could be said to look like faces.. like the games kids often play with clouds - things that take on a familiar look - but are not them. So if we see a bunny rabbit in the clouds, it doesn't make it a bunny rabbit.

yup i see thefaces from both links, the one where Sayid is sitting looks more like a broken statue, and a pinkish childs face with dark hair on the other link

So if we see a bunny rabbit in the clouds, it doesn't make it a bunny rabbit. I agree with you about seeing things in clouds, but these images appear to be different from the objects around them. A different texture. The pink is also a different color than the rock around it.

I think it fits the theory that there may be "rifts" that the Others use to slip from one space to another. Like small openings that they can come through. Perhaps we are seeing some of these openings with faces looking out from them.

Now to debunk my theory... the faces do have a "statuesque" quality; no animation just static. But, like the face on Mars, it certainly is open to interpretation.

I am hoping, LostPack, that someone who sees the images and knows how to post them somewhere will do that. I, unfortunately, don't know how. If you get to see what I am talking about, let me know what you think.

I have always thought the others have some form of invisibility or camouflage ability. Evolution -blend with the natural environment or maybe Dharma gave evolution a helping hand.

For those of you who could see the pink face, I checked out another screen shot and I think I see two more in the same vicinity. I know, I have the sickness, soon I'll be hearing the whispers, too. Where is Vincent when I need him? :)

Look to the right of the "pink face" which is actually harder it see in this particular screen cap. There are two images that appear close to the color of the background rock. They are SE of the “pink face” and are side by side. The one on the left appears to have a white spot on his nose, it looks like light reflection but might make it easier to see that face.

If, in fact, these are the Others making their way out of a parallel universe (or whatever it is), then it might explain the look on Cindy's face in this screen shot when she is looking in their direction and appearing terrified.

I saw the second face likelylost. I think there is some parallel universe connection or some sort of projected viewing thing going on. Maybe the ability to disperse oneself into the enivironment has been discovered.

I see a face in this image as well, to the left of Ana’s elbow (and a little bit up) in the rock formation.

In this same area I have seen faces on three separate screen shots, taken from different angles. I am getting more convinced that there really is something there. Or, I am seeing things where none exist. Wouldn't be the first time.
Maybe my new best friend dragonflyo2 can post a shot of that one too, if he/she can see it.:)

Its not the first time I have seen a face. In the episode where the tailies are attacked by the others, I see a greenish smoke face in the greenery behind the scuffle. I thought this was 'the monster ' at the time. Sorry cant remember which screen shot it is.

very true car88win however when i first read this post I thought i'd have a peep and the face was MOST obvious, i do agree with power of suggestion, but it's uncanny.

It's like trying to find that face thing on the moon. Just reminds me that we all seem to be on one big collective mass vision quest
