View Full Version : Sawyer's funny little comment.
Spirit4ever 01-06-2005, 12:50 AM Was anyone else amused by the funny little comment Sawyer made to Kate at the beginning of the show?* "Me Kate, me throw rock"
They almost seemed as two friends walking through a forest joking around.
Yes! I actually loved Sawyer this episode. I didn't really care what happened to him before...
Spirit4ever 01-06-2005, 12:56 AM :D I also forgot to mention how enjoyable it was watching him try to open the case.* Throwing it from the tree!!!* :lol2:
Wile E 01-06-2005, 12:59 AM I liked when he chased her and got the case back, then managed to dodge her head butt and he laughed and said she needed a new move and then she did it again and smacked him. Dang that girl has a hard head.

He did pretty good getting up the tree considering he had a bum arm and a sore knee. :) And it definitely was a nice comedic moment in the show.

gameoverman 01-06-2005, 03:03 AM Sawyer was alot of fun this episode but I think they missed an opportunity.
You notice how when swimming, Kate is in undies(btw, I barely noticed that) but Sawyer is wearing pants? I thought they'd have Kate say something like "You think the monster is around?", Sawyer would then reply "That's why I have my pants on, so you won't see it".
C'mon, you know it'd be just like him to say it.
tanpopopear 01-06-2005, 03:14 AM LMAO, Sawyer was really the only thing about the case story that interested me (does anyone else find Kate and Jack boring?), he was very, very amusing tonight.
(And that IS something he would say, and we would all adore him for it, even though it would get a smack if it came from someone else, lol ><;)

I thought it rather odd that he didn't at least strip down to his undies (if he wears any), after all Kate's seen him in the altogether after the skinny dipping episode so it seens rather odd for him to be shy now. Maybe he was afraid the water was cold? ;)
...he didn't at least strip down to his undies (if he wears any)...
Well, that was my thought--that he didn't--especially after we got a butt crack shot shortly after. Very quick, but(t) it's there....
PhillyGirl2873 01-06-2005, 01:43 PM Sawyer always has the best lines. *He cracks me up. *Especially when he was talking to Walt a couple of episodes ago.
bri_nic23 01-06-2005, 01:47 PM he is really funny.....i wondered the same about him not stripping down either! but i cracked up when she hit him in the knee with the rock....he was such a whino! but regardless...it was very funny!
desertislandgirl 01-06-2005, 01:50 PM I loved the "me kate, me throw rock" line! I also loved him being protective of her. ;) Aw! I'm still rooting for Kate and Jack, but they need to get over the angst here...
adrienne 01-06-2005, 02:07 PM My little sis, who watches Lost with me, noticed Sawyer's butt crack before I did. I like what he said when she hit him with the rock and how he wouldn't stop complaining about his knee cap.
lorniesoccer15 01-06-2005, 02:31 PM There were lots of things i loved about sawyer in this episode
-Me Kate, me throw rocks
-Him not wearing a shirt :-)
-When he was tring to open the suitcase
-when kate tryed to steal the suitcase while he was sleeping, and he cought her :-) loved it
I aslo think kate and jack are kinda boring some times but i loved the part in the end "it belonged to the man i loved, it belonged to the man i loved, it belonged to the man i killed"
Willow7697 01-06-2005, 02:39 PM i loved that part when he was up the tree trying to open the case and here comes kate running up... hilarious...
you know she was waiting in the brush for a moment when he let his guard down..
Silent_Guitarist 01-06-2005, 02:45 PM I loved that line! *:lol2: That had to be Sawyer's best episode. For funnyness anyway. (is that even a word? ...'funnyness'? hmm... if so I don't think I spelled it right...)
Yeah I have kinda lost interest in Jack and Kate mainly because they haven't changed much (that I can see) from the first episode. Hopefully they'll get interesting again.
welshmuse 01-06-2005, 03:53 PM Does Sawyer remind anyone else of Chris Farley everytime he says "Son of a...!"?
...or am I the only one who's seen Tommy Boy 15 times?
Sherry 01-06-2005, 05:04 PM I thought Sawyer was great in this eppy...Very funny :lol2: . His frustrations with not being able to open the case, getting hit with the rock...More reasons I adore him! :-*
AlaneSue 01-06-2005, 11:39 PM I thought it rather odd that he didn't at least strip down to his undies (if he wears any)
He was wearing some in the TVGuide photo. :)

Toonces 01-07-2005, 12:16 AM The waterfall scene just added to Sawyer's Viggo-ness, so very much like A Walk on the Moon.* Not that I am complaining mind you.* *:o
Swooner 01-07-2005, 12:59 AM I'm so glad I found this thread!
Sawyer was absolutely the best part of the entire episode. Sounds like I wasn't the only one yelling at the TV "Sawyer, take your pants off!" So they tease us and give us a butt shot instead. Guess it will have to do. I loved how he still wanted to protect Kate. Had to laugh when Kate said "Protect me from what? Southern perverts?" It was great to see Sawyer laughing and having fun. Looking forward to seeing him shirtless again real soon! ;D
JustAnotherRockGod 01-07-2005, 04:06 PM I loved that line. He was great in that episode. Very funny.
banksy 01-07-2005, 04:25 PM hilarious moment when sawyer threw the case from the top of the tree!! clearly kate had been standing in the bushes watching him and then made her move.. came running in and just grabbed it and ran off! classic! :lol2:

Seems like you pretty much can ignore major injury on the island. Not even considering the ability of Locke to suddenly feel and move his legs AND the fact that it is as if he hasn't had four years of wasted musculature to boot. Then Jack gets his back stitched up with fishing line and can almost immediately perform extreme physical feats. Now Sawyer has his upper arm sliced open and a major artery severed and within a day or two he is climbing trees, wrestling with near naked lasses and SWIMMING.
Yeah, right. If only my patients could be so fortunate...
banksy 01-07-2005, 05:08 PM very good point.
how long have they been on the island exactly?
one of them mentioned a few weeks.. at one point., so it must be atleast that.... perhaps that is long enough for jack to heal, but i am sure sawyers injury would take a good long while to heal, especially without proper and hygeinic medical attention
lostfan88 01-07-2005, 05:24 PM I thought Sawyer was one of the best parts in this episode. He never fails to make me laugh. I thought Kate's line about Southern perverts was funny because I'm from the South (but I'm not a pervert.. ;)).

So is there a consensus as to whether he was stalking her or looking our for her safety there at the beginning?

At least Sawyer still had his arm bandaged. And Sayid was still limping.
When Hurley's not around Sawyer gets the best lines.

I get the feeling that Kate knows she's the object of his attentions, including stalking, Kate needs no one to take care of her. Although, assuming they are all afraid of 'the others' and 'the creatures', I don't think they stray very far from each other. It's not like he followed her around town or something. So I don't know if I'd call it stalking.

Ah, the Sayid limp... he totally reminded me of an Igor in that, while he was hobbling over to Shannon...
I sorta expected him to say something about brains. Or something :X does that make me weird?
jwpage 01-07-2005, 11:44 PM Is it only me. But if I did a head butt, wouldn't it hurt MY head also. So how does Kate do it?
Peacock Spring 01-08-2005, 01:01 AM Is it only me.* But if I did a head butt, wouldn't it hurt MY head also.* So how does Kate do it?
My only guess is that she either hit his nose with her forehead (in which case she wouldn't have to hit very hard for it to hurt him), or she managed to hit the nerve right between his eyebrows, which can also be pretty painful. Either way, the girl's done that before. ;)
spooky 01-08-2005, 04:34 AM Yeah, she's done that before. Just like she elbowed in the face. Who throws an elbow without some kind of training? I'd have just slapped him. I'd probably knock mySelf out if I tried to head-butt him ;D
I thought it was funny when he said: you some sort of no fun, navel-gazing, mopey-type? That girl really needs to lighten up, and stop staring out to sea all the time, or I guess now she had the tiny airplane-of-remorse to stare at.
Marystat 01-08-2005, 10:08 AM I read somewhere that Hurley was gonna be the comic relief of the show..this time it sure was Sawyer LOL, he never fails to crack me up!
But did you see him go running after Kate after she grabbed the suitcase and took off?...The guy can run! lol

Yes, those moves indicate some kind of formal training -- as opposed to Sawyer, who probably learned to fight in the school of hard knocks.
Maybe we'll find out in the end that Kate is another of Sydney's long-lost half-sisters. :lol2:

Didn't Kate say her father was in the military? Bet she learned all the moves plus how to shoot a gun from him.

I vote protecting her.
