It was like really bad sex.... you're glad you got some, but you're left even more frustrated!* :'(

I got extremely disgusted with Kate lying continuously.* In the real world, I have no respect for people who lie.* I'd rather know the truth and deal with the information, or be told that they'd rather not discuss it. This just pressed that one personal pet peeve button in me because she has no problem prying personal information out of anyone else.

All that head butting for a tiny plane? UGGGHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!! I don't even care anymore about why she was arrested.* She completely repulses me at this point.

At least Sawyer is straight-up. Freckles is just plain pathetic. She deserves to be alone.

I don't like Kate either. But at least she has some *bite* now instead of just being a boring.

I like how Jack handled Kate and Sawyer. He is learning fast about balancing leadership and trust to each individual.

Obviously Jack is completely fed up with Kate's lies, and he's going to continue to ignore her until she finally fesses up or humbly apologizes to him. Something seemed to have clicked in her at the end of the last episode, when he stared her directly in the eye.

But remember, Jack has been telling Kate since the beginning that her past is her past, and he really doesn't care what she's done. So she has no reason to lie. Everyone has skeletons in their closets, but she goes overboard trying to protect the information.

She'll change. I guarantee it.

This epi was like bad sex for me too. Still good, but ya gotta wish it was better.

While Wetsawyer was quite amusing, why did he keep his pants on when he skinnydipped before? But those wet jeans looked pretty fine, so I won't complain.

There was tons of stuff that stretched credulity.

Normal people get out of the pool when then discover rotting corpses, not go in for a closer look. The mere thought that I might have swallowed or inhaled a few droplets of eau de rotting corpse would totally freak me out and make me flee for boiling hot seawater to bath in.

When digging up a rotting corpse and using your hands to clear out the last bits, DO NOT wipe your mouth with those same hands. Stand holding your hands out at your sides like you wish they belonged to someone else.

Of 40 adults, one would presume that at least 25% had high school French. So that would make 10 French speakers, not just Shannon. Now if it would be an semi-obscure language like Polish or Greek, I'd believe there would only be one. Granted, Shannon may be the only French speaker that knew about the 16-year old message and could be trusted with the info.

Kate's game of "you can have it" "I have to get it back!" with the suitcase didn't make sense. Why did she let him have it, only to go to extraordinary lengths to get it back?

I was pleased to see Jack's finally growing a pair, but I didn't believe for a minute that he'd withhold Sawyer's antibiotics. Now he has to learn to put Kate in her place.

Naveen has a creepily long pinkie nail. I just noticed it when he was talking to Shannon. Still love him, but ick.

Positive things:

I don't think the airplane was the momento Kate was looking for, and she's going to keep looking for it.

Wetsawyer. 'nuff said.

Charlie's grief was well handled, and not overplayed. Rose was the perfect person to tell him to lay off the drama. After all, he'd only known Claire a few days, and Rose has lost a husband.

I kinda like Kate's lies. It keeps her character ambiguous, and you have to question every assumption you have about her.

I liked the use of "Somewhere beyond the Sea" - I figured out immediately that Shannon was reading song lyrics. Sayid, understandably didn't clue into the cultural reference.

More on Shannon/Boone/Locke verrrry interesting.

there is a number on the plane's wing... perhaps thje number is what she stole it initially for, the number of a bank acct or something? i'm guessing she expected evidence against her to be in the case but since there isn't any she's happy because now noone will uncover what she did, at this point.... and it's obvious she did something before the bank robbery

I have to agree.
Not much caring about this week's episode here either.
Apart from maybe two or three one-liners.
The new promo made me much more excited than the whole episode.

I am so thrilled that I'm not the only one totally and utterly confused. I sat through the episode twice wondering...what? In the very beginning, I liked Kate but now I don't know.

This episode took me from being quite fond of Kate and her lying liarness (not in the way of respecting her as a person for it but rather liking her as a character for it, very different things) and being pretty apathetic to her. I was like "That's great, Kate. That's lovey. Grand. Can we see some other characters now? You've worn out my ability to care." She was actually kind of annoying... Maybe it's because I have a friend who acts a lot like her and got sick of it a long time ago, but if I'd been Jack I think I would have smacked her across the face. I wouldn't have even asked her about the airplane, I would have been like "Whatever. It's an airplane. What did you think this would mean to me? Did you think I'd take it from you? I don't even care! Get out of here." I'm not an unsympathetic person, but people gotta stand up for themselves sometimes and it gets to a point where if they don't any more attention you give them about it just encourages their behavior. :(

I took that to be their method of flirting, like schoolchildren pulling hair and punching each other because they're too immature to know how to process their attraction to the opposite sex.

only reason she let Sawyer have the case was to try and throw him off it wasn't important to her.....Sawyer was charming for the first few minutes and then I became exasperated by the you're on top I'm on top stuff. She didn't seem to be enjoying it. Both my dad and I let out a yeah! when she head butted him.

Jack's always had a pair...he just hasn't felt the need to parade it around. He's more subtle about it. I agree he wouldn't have withheld the meds, but the cool thing was he played Sawyer's bluff, and Sawyer handed the case over for that reason. He gained some odd respect for Jack and was even a bit intimidated.

Even in being a J/K ship-I was kinda annoyed w/Kate...There was absolutely no reason for the key trick. Jack had no idea what the plane was and she had already told him everything that was in the case. It was pretty crappy of her to ask him to dig up a guy he buried in sentiment just to pull a bait and switch. And even after that he could have walked off w/the case, he had the the key, but he kept his promise they'd open it together. He was rightfully upset, he cares a lot about her, but after what his dad pulled on him, I think in the end he was torn between how she had deceived him and wanting to comfort her but needing to give her her space.

This episode frustrated me for so many reasons that I can't even explain. *The toy plane has some significance, but only due to the fact it was in an envelope similar to or the one that was stolen. *No one else on the island would have wanted the plane so why go through all the trouble to get it. *The guns would have been higher on everyones list then an envelope with a toy in it. *Why was the wallet buried with the marshall? *Everyone else was picked clean before they burned them. *Why did Sawyer give up the case without much of a fight? *Thats not in his nature. *If all he wanted to know was what was in the case, he would have pushed to be there when it was opened. *It seems to me that he must have opened it, but I can't seem to believe that either. *The way Claire was such an afterthought bothered me too. *Sure the tide was some how coming in high, but it was like she was forgotten other then by charlie. *I guess I don't like to think they are all that self-centered. *

Well, it's one thing to take things from people that you've never met. But Jack took care of the Marshall. And Sawyer tried to kill him. At that point, I just think things were a little too personal.

Shannon said her French friend's son watched Finding Nemo 900 times. It was released on DVD just last year. 3 showings daily?

One out of 48 passengers can somewhat understand the French language. Kinda blows all those Canada references right out of the water doesn't it?

Sayeed mentioned that the rising of the tides was too quick to be natural. Obviously the island doesn't get CNN.

Couldn't she have just said "Yeah, it's mine. Has all those tampons I've been looking for!" ::)

Well, you know. He didn't really want it, and she could have avoided that whole conflict by just TAKING it. Gosh.

I thought about too, or perhaps it's a key to something bigger...

In this episode, like I said in another thread here, I felt like not enough was explained. Kate's past is till a mystery, we don't know what happened to Claire, and we're all wondering about Boone and Locke's find. Plus, where's the monster and polar bears?

However, I did like Sawyer in the beginning -- funny as usual (ex. Kate hitting him in the knee). And I wanted to just hug poor Charlie :-* I'll be like Rose, I'll help you and lend a shoulder to cry on. I'm liking Shannon more and more now that she has more to do. I knew she could be helpful.

I was surprised, too. (Just because French is one of the few languages besides Spanish North Americans learn. *g*) However... as far as I understand, a LOT of Canadians do not speak French. It's not that common, to my understanding, except in Quebec. I have several friends from Canada. None of them speak French fluently, and if they speak any it's very rough. One of them lives in Quebec and has a heck of a time keeping a steady job there. He has been fired to make way for people who speak fluent French.

well Jack was pressing Sayid for info because he was interested in Claire still being out there...Sayid had wanted to drop it but then Jack commented "tell that to him" looking in Charlie's direction.
