View Full Version : Why The Other's leave no trace!

A co-worker and I were discussing the Lost theories that have been threaded around, and we were in discussion as to why Ana says that ‘the others’ never leave footprints when the come. You never hear them or see them because they are so quick to get around. Remember the episode where Locke almost gets dragged down that porthole in the jungle and then Jack saves him? Well we think that there are many portholes or trapdoors, throughout the jungle like the one Locke almost went down, that could lead to underground tunnels to the hatches and so on distributed around the island. This could explain why ‘the other’s’ are so quick to disappear and leave without a trace. Maybe this is how that one girl got snatched and disappeared all of a sudden when Ana and her crew were carrying Sawyer on the stretcher just before the whispers came.

What do you think? :ohwell:

I couldn't agree with you more.... I feel that's pretty close to the truth.

Isn't it odd if she was adbucted that she didn't at last scream or cry out a little? I'm leaning away from the captured theory because I can't see how she wouldn't have made a struggling sound if even for a second.

I would agree with you, but remember these people are good. I'd compare them to the military kinda good. It's very easy to grab and gag someone in a matter of seconds.

I don't know - when Locke was being dragged to the hatch it was awfully noisy. Tons of machinery sounds and exploding trees.

I agree with you - probably tons of hatches and secret tunnels that they travel in, combined with their silence. It just feels as though the Locke incident was different.

Also, I have a feeling that Cindy wasn't snatched. I think she may have disappeared on purpose, but that's my own little unsubstantiated theory. She was the flight attendant - I think she works for the project.

My thoughts are that the others use the black smoke stuff to take people because on the day alex was taken danielle saw black smoke wich could have been what tried to take locke

I always thought the same thing, too. Since they were all so scared of the others, you would think that we would have heard Cindy struggling more.

she's still wearing her flight attendant outfit and she's played by the same actress who was the flight attendant Jack talked to in the pilot episode.

So they had to get rid of her before she met the fusies because she knows too much about many of them and as we know no one is allowed to communicate on this island :-)
