it was probably the same kid that was taken. Jin and Eko were hidding from the kids that were on the plane (minus their shoes)

i think the fact that goodwin was in the peace corps is a big hint...

i don't knowif it was a "big" hint - but it is a hint for sure, and an interesting one. he might've been lying. peace corps are a great cover -- maybe one he could figure was still viable even if he'd been on the island for 20 years. peace corps are about helping society... and if the others are connected to the dharma initiative, there is a "utopian society" element that could conenct the two.

i think the "big" hint was that he said the crash survivors who were taken were 'good': kids are okay; strong men are desired; nathan - who challenged authority and caused dissension within the group, was considered "bad" enough to kill (though yes there was an ulterior reason for goodwin to snap his neck). and ana lucia, though a potential threat, was apparently considered desirable, good enough to potentially recruit rather than kidnap or kill.
