I know there's no evidence for this one way or another, but are the children from the tail section twins? Anyone have any thoughts?

View Full Version : Twins? Todell 11-17-2005, 12:47 AM I know there's no evidence for this one way or another, but are the children from the tail section twins? Anyone have any thoughts? EmptyJar 11-17-2005, 12:49 AM I didn't get *that* good a look but I actually though that the two guys/others that Eko killed that first night were twins... any screencaps yet? but maybe the kids could have been fraternals yea.. TabbyRasa 11-17-2005, 12:59 AM I was wondering if they were twins as well. Since they had the teddy bear (that looks like Shannon's teddy bear), and the last time we saw that bear was in Shannon's bedroom with Boone, after her father's funeral...maybe the kids are step-siblings, like Shannon and Boone. Don't know what that would mean though. i_love_dmjgmfna 11-17-2005, 12:59 AM Hmmm...I don't know. At first I was gonna say that I thought the girl looked a little bit older, but I just looked again, and they could be twins... sloan99 11-17-2005, 01:01 AM I don't think they were twins. The girl looked older than the boy. I DID think, though, that they looked an awful lot like the kids that ran out of the hotel room that Kate went into to dye her hair back to brown. They kind of made a big deal out of showing the kids and the dad up close. I didn't understand why at the time. Anyone else??? ExistentialAngel 11-17-2005, 04:31 AM I don't think they were twins. I'm a female fraternal twin and my brother was always bigger than me... seems that if they were twins they'd be closer to the same size, unless one has some sort of genetic disorder, or suffered poor health for a while. Those kids from the hotel were the first thing I thought of when I saw them in this episode. radical_lost 11-17-2005, 04:42 AM Just checked Born To Run, and the kids there were older, the girl maybe 12 and the boy 9 or 10. The boy did say that she was his sister, but he wouldnt deliberately say "my twin"... They could be though, there's a period where girls grow a little faster than boys (before puberty) Dino 23F 11-22-2005, 01:10 PM eko hung out with them the mos right? so i suppose soon he is gonna talk to the middle section survivors and tell them what he knows. Don't know what that would mean though. Its been conclusively proved that the teddy bear the kids have (and the "other" kid) is not Shannon's. AT Madge 11-22-2005, 01:43 PM Just throwing this out there that a friend of mine has twins, a boy and a girl and you would never know these two are even related they look so different. The girl is very tall and thin and darker skinned like her father and the boy is shorter, a bit stockier and very light like his mother. Considering this is television I wouldn't think they would have twins that look so differently, but anything is possible. I thought the sister on the show was older. Todell 11-22-2005, 01:49 PM I thought they looked like brother and sister, but the girl was slightly larger. They seemed very close in age, and I know that girls can be larger than boys, especailly at that pre-pubescent age. Just a thought... Dino 23F 11-22-2005, 01:50 PM it would be more interesting to have them be like boone and shannon, and at least then boone and shannons characters wouldnt be such a waste Debisobsessed 11-22-2005, 02:56 PM I haven't checked screencaps, but what about the girl in Shannon's ballet class? Could she be the girl on the beach? Dino 23F 11-22-2005, 03:23 PM I haven't checked screencaps, but what about the girl in Shannon's ballet class? Could she be the girl on the beach? ther were a few girls in the class. but now that shannons dead and the girl is gone they will never meet again. your avatar is cool deb happypixie 11-22-2005, 03:35 PM It is a good chance that they are twins. Just because they are differernt hights does not mean they can't be twins. Dino 23F 11-22-2005, 03:38 PM anything is possible, but being likely is another matter. i just dont see why it would need to be part of the story they arent from the island originally. so the arent connected to the degroots or seabillies or dharma happypixie 11-22-2005, 03:52 PM But we are not sure yet if they are not connected yet. They maybe who were there parents. Dino 23F 11-22-2005, 05:02 PM the degroots? i get the feeling once your on the island you dont ever ever leave. so if the degroots are on the island i dont think they would have kids going from aussie to la happypixie 11-22-2005, 05:09 PM Ya never know they all may have been there and just don't remembe:grin::grin: Todell 11-22-2005, 06:42 PM Here's a wacky theory: The DeGroots started out at the University of Michigan. We don't know if they ever went to the island. Perhaps the children, along with Locke, and Jack and Walt and so on and so on were descendents of researchers who never went to the island: maybe Christian studied with the DeGroots, maybe Michael's father, perhaps Claire's missing daddy, perhaps the children's grandfather, etc. And perhaps their fathers/grandfathers experimented on themselves to give themselves ESP or something. And their children inherited this trait; some sort of "specialness." And perhaps Hanso sent them to the island to be with the other Dharma subjects. But I digress from the original intent of this thread. I was just struck by the twins on the boat, and all the twin/duality/mirror imagery we've had on the show. And yet, none of the survivors had been twins. I was just hoping the children were... happypixie 11-22-2005, 06:53 PM Here's a wacky theory: The DeGroots started out at the University of Michigan. I agree with you I have said that a more than a few times it is in one of my theroys on another board that they could be decendent of people from the island or the project as far as the twins I and a few others on another board were looking into the Apollo theroy and twin play a part int that as well. I know the origanal purpose of the thread is are the children twin and I think they might be. And in alot of reaserch they have twins involved because of there connections. Now as far as the ones that are not twins. Remeber as far as we know there are more than one station running here and more than one reaserch project sooo. not all of them need twins. sorry I was just agreeing with you. and got long winded:smile: Todell 11-22-2005, 07:34 PM No need to apologize for diverting the original idea: it really doesn't have anywhere to go, because we know so little about the children. What can you say, but yes, maybe they're twins, or no, I don't think so! I welcome ideas about who they are and why they are on the island.... happypixie 11-22-2005, 08:18 PM Oh, OK, I wasn't sure. How was it proven...by comparing screen caps? If so, can you please post the links to the caps and/or the thread that has them? There's only about a gazillion kinds of teddy bears, so that doesn't surprise me at all. I can just hear the writers: "let's put a brown teddy bear in Shannon's bedroom and that'll get 'em going off on a tangent". here is a link to the pic http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b381/happypixie/shannonWithTeddy.jpg TabbyRasa 11-23-2005, 11:50 AM Thanks, happypixie! |
