Just watched the deleted scene. A large crate washed up and they all gathered around to open it. Turns out it was a shipment of Austrailian boomerangs!

Can anybody say "It'll come back around."???

Anyway, now we know where the hockey stick looking weapons came from. They were boomerangs tied to poles.

It said _____ Walkabout Tours" on the crate. Not sure what the first word was though. Wasn't that the company Locke was supposed to go on the tour with?

I just looked up at the TV and it was already in progress, don't know if they mentioned a day. But, if I had to guess it was within week #1. They were still on the beach and the kids were still there saying they hoped it was food.

Especially since they were very prominently labelled "Australian RETURNING Boomerangs."

Your right I think. Walkabout Tours is the tour company that turned Locke down flat. And unless I'm mistaken didnt the guy say that the company would buy him a ticket back to the states? We need to watch that episode again.

cool... the tour was walkabout tours that Locke was supposed to take. Very interesting indeed.

Thanks for sharing that and LOL re: can anyone say "It'll come back around"?

As for "Walkabout Tours", VEEEEEEry interesting indeedy doo.

I might have to start taking actual notes or something, there is just too much information for the RAM and ROM in my brain to store, let alone process. ...Oh, wait, we have this site to do that for us--whew! Yay!

Memo to self: shipment of Australian boomarangs from "Walkabout Tours"...

Thank you so much - there was no way i could have missed work for a few extra lost moments - no matter how much i wanted to!!

No wonder they have boomerangs on the tips of their sticks... and yeah, i think the company was the same as locke's... hmm.... new stuff to ponder and keep my mind off of work...

I was wondering about that last night...I saw one of the sticks and thought, "That looks like a boomerang tied on the end. Where the **** did they get a bunch of boomerangs?!?!" It all makes sense now.

I wonder whether or not the boomerangs were Locke's. He didn't go on the Walkabout Tour in the end, so they were either being sent to someone else as an ordered shipment, or the walkabout company gave them to Locke to say sorry.

But why would any invdividual person want a whole crate of boomerangs? And wouldn't it be an odd gift to give a man in a wheelchair, who would struggle to catch a boomerang? eg.'You're not fit enough to go on a tour bus with us, but here - go play with these boomerangs'.
Although, with Locke's throwing skills, maybe he did buy them.

I wouldn't be surprised if these crop up in one of the other losties flashbacks, maybe the guy Jin was delivering the watch to ran a sporting goods store, for example (poor example, I know). Although it probably won't be mentioned in a flashback now, since it didn't actually air in the episode.
(On the question of whether we take deleted scenes as having happened or not, they had the boomerangs in the episode, so it can have still happened. And since it aired the next day anyway, it seems probable that there just wasn't enough time to fit it into the episode, given the TV schedule, and that TPTB always planned to show it the next day as an add-on. It's a win-win situation for GMA and Lost - Lost can pick up extra viewers and get coverage, and GMA can show exclusive footage.)

anyone else notice that for a wooden crate to suddenly wash up, all of the inside was extremely dry...as if it hadn't been in the water at all....

Glad that was all there was. I really wasn't about to miss work to see any deleted scene. Especially one that isn't important to the central storyline.

Does anyone have a link to a clip of the scene?

I had been waiting for Sawyer to be shot unjustly ever since he was told "it'll come back around" by the man he wrongfully shot, so I wasn't surprised at his raft injury. But this box of boomerangs adds to the omen in an amusing way!
