This eppy really irked me.

If I was on an island and a) a monster was on it b) a crazy french woman was on it c) a polar bear was on it d) "others" where kidnapping pregnant survivors....

the last thing I'd be doing is letting those around me venture off into the jungle alone to go swimming, and I'd really like it if everyone was on the same page with all the available info.

Why aren't these people set up in 1 camp, defending themselves, looking for claire in groups, ect. I let these things slide before this eppy because until now things could be explained as just "wierd" on the island. But when everybodies life is in danger, why are 90% of these people acting like it's a vacation and the 10% that know what's really going on keeping these secrets.

I hope the writing starts to pick up cause eppy's keep getting more and more dumb.

Well, if I was burying a dead person I'd at least check to see if he had a wallet, etc. before burying him.* ::)

Well, after Kate let Sawyer walk away with the briefcase when it was first discovered, I think it's been fairly firmly established that she is dumb as rocks (maybe black rocks--hmn, a possible connection??).

The rest just seem more chill than anything. Rampaging giant monsters? No problem! Let's go into the jungle all alone and wander about! Pregnant lady gets brutally kidnapped? No problem! We're sure she'll turn up somewhere, let's tan and decode maps!

Yeah, OK, maybe they are all dumb.

They all just seem to be to self-centered that it borders on stupidity. If I wasn't addicted to the show already and just saw last week and this week, I'd probably not watch again. It bothered me so much that only Charlie was really concerned about Claire. It is obvious that the Jungle isn't safe, but it is also obvious that the beach isn't exactly safe either. I understand self preservation, but to let a pregnant kidnapped girl go without sending search parties just doesn't sit right with me. I just can't convince myself thats what 10% of people would do, let alone everyone on the island.

I thought Jack wanted to go talk to Danielle to try to find Claire - but Sayid thought it would be better to decode the maps....

Jack did mention it, but it was only once and he was easily discouraged. With the pull that Jack has around the island he could have found people to go with him to search while other moved the stuff up the island to where the tide wasn't coming in. I don't think my problem was that they didn't go search, it was more that they didn't seem concerned about Claire other then Jack at the beginning and Charlie throughout. True they had other problems with the tide, but it just seemed insensitive and selfish.

I think that might be one of the points of the show - this horrible threat is hanging over their heads, but they all concern themselves with petty things. Itf they don't get their acts together soon it's gonna get a lot worse.

Yep, this was one poor damn episode, comparatively speaking. *Sawyer, Shannon, and Rose and the Choir Boy were quite good, Jack and Sayid were OK, but Kate's behavior thru the whole thing was totally inexplicable!!! *She wanted the case and knew where she could get the key but told Sawyer it wasn't hers and didn't take the opportunity to keep it when he offered (Sawyer offer??? Well, maybe only to Kate). *Then, in the backstory (if you can call it that) she organizes a bank robbery to get a little memorabilia without having any chance of pulling it off without getting exposed - if her accomplices didn't expose her how was she going to get the manager to give her the safety-deposit box key??? *
Then, she tries to take it back from Sawyer in the most stupid attempt I ever saw - if she was that serious why didn't this ruthless bank-robber just bop him on the bean while he was sleeping? *After all this she naturally goes to Jack and tries to trick him - what the hell? *All this for a little airplane that she didn't even have to explain? *Dumb as a box of rocks doesn't even come close to describing it - it's just poor writing!!!

And what gives with Sayid? *He won't tell Jack how to find Rousseau - where's the harm in that? *He then deludes himself by saying the sounds that disturbed him so much were 'only the wind'. *Finally, he insults poor Shannon whose really trying to help him because he doesn't like her translation *? *When did he become such a SOB?

Sure, nobody wants to bother finding Claire except Jack but even he doesn't really want to bother... I guess they think that Locke's on the trail so they don't have to worry about it, yeah right! *No concern about the mysterious, and potentially malevolent, 'Others' Sayid told them about (and now denies)!

Blech!!! *OldWiz was definitely disappointed with most of this episode and is thinking seriously about getting out his 'zap mean or stupid writers' spell...
